I won’t argue with anyone’s interpretation of Mitsuki and Masaru’s relationship with Katsuki (I personally feel Horikoshi initially tried to convey it as something comedic, like oh look Katsuki gets a lot of his personality from his mom, when in reality it ends up coming off as something most readers would rightly read as being more negative in nature), but I honestly hope Horikoshi takes some time in the future for the three of them interact in a way that makes it much clearer in what direction he wants the audience to see the relationship between these three. Like, we’ve gotten a lot of pretty explicit cues for Todoroki and Midoriya’s relationships with their families/parents, I’d like to see Bakugou get the same treatment soon as well. It probably won’t change a lot of people’s perceptions of a character like Mitsuki, but it would be nice to have something a bit more solid then the single scene we’ve gotten of the three of them so far.
