I will stand by this, a lot of hate Vandetta gets is borderline misogyny- intentional or not, because I know DAMN well that if she was a man ya'll would be foaming at the mouth and talking about how strong she is and be hyped, but sense she's a woman (mind you she's a whole gladiator)she somehow can't beat Doomfist (who is way passed his prime)

Do I think they should've showed her achievements in more cinematics before leading up to Doom's death? Yes, that's a genuine critique of mine- not just diminishing her because she "clearly wouldn't be strong enough to beat Doomfist" (keep in mind she's a GLADIATOR with a giant ass sword)

It irks me to no end when they call Vandetta a self-insert when she's clearly needed to bring some change to the previously declining story. I was pretty young when he was introduced, but I don't remember anyone being this mad when Doom 1 v 3'd Tracer, Genji, and Winston. They needed to show he was powerful, so obviously you have to knock someone (or someones) down a peg to do that. This is the exact same thing they did with Vendetta v. Doomfist ! To show how strong Vendetta actually is ! And to make her a real threat instead of the next Unga Bunga Villain who'll disappear in the lore after three weeks.

I completely agree that they should've shown more of her strength and feats to help build up her character--especially since Blizzard has been lacking in the lore department until literally 3 days ago--but man the amount of hate Vendetta has been getting is so messed up. God forbid a stong female villain appear and physically overpower a man.

I'm personally excited for the implication that Doomfist isn't dead and that Talon will split into two, with Vendetta, Moira, Mauga, and Emre (with Freja) on one side, and Doomfist, Sombra, Widowmaker, and Reaper on the other. It's short-sighted to assume that Vendetta's takeover is permanent orthat she won't also face some sort of consequences. Her haters have it in their head she's a edgy self-insert and not an antagonist pushing the story forward.

God forbid a woman be a villain and a badass at the same time.
