Same coin theory- Stanley-Bill Axolotl-waddles is suspicious. tbh this is actually hilarious if it was both of them clue.
we know the axolotl granted Bill therapy before he is sent to be reincarnated in a different time and different form.
In episode 1, we see the Axolotl watching Stanley/bill new form.. After season final where we hear their name from bill requesting to be saved.
Later he does not come back. But we get waddles in the time episode with blendin-see other post for blendin... But here is where it gets suspicious, waddles Speaks mabel name to her. But waddles would not have heard her name unless he was secretly watching the pines family.. or a certain someone bill/stanley.. because even with therapy the axolotl would still need to watch how bill is doing in his new form/reincarnation, As the Axolotl is stated to be bill friend.
As we See both Bill and Stanley are shown to be impressed with mabel weirdness, soft spot for her.. when bill grabbed the kids and landed on mabel name, he dragged out the "yooouuu" while his hand shook in stress showing his bluff.
Bill is shown to lie/manipulate his targets to get what he wants, same with Stanley conning everyone and lieing. Some traits and personality just never go away lol.
Through out the show Stanley is shown warry about waddles.. does not want waddles near him and gets disturbed.. and calls him a fat naked jerk. Hint bill/Stanley still mad about therapy.
So could be bill/Stanley newer form is aware, but plays dumb as only these two are aware of each other.. And Stanley/Bill can't shoo him away because Mabel brought him. Why stanley is shown trying to avoid Waddles when ever he can. As therapy wasn't enough.
Noticed Stanley puts waddles outside when mabel ask him to watch waddles... and he place the doller Bill... on waddles...(hint to his past self-bill) Like saying thx, and please leave.
Also note stanley doing the triangle eye(bill) when he trying to lie to mabel later, After waddles got taken.
Tbh i think Stanley was more disturbed for the pterodactyl then then waddles.. If waddles is secretly the Axololt in other form just like Stanley is hinted to be bill reincarnation.. As waddles was not eaten.. The judgement stare Waddles silently gives Stanley through out the episode lol...Because he lied to mabel, and waiting for Stanley to correct his mistake. Which Stanley does end up doing later. Though there is common clue between a pig and axolotl.
One of Stanley annoyed comments to the waddles, Who goes rolling in the mud after falling down from the pterodactyl.
"Yeah you would injoy this" with waddles injoying the mud.. Oh coincidence? Because Axoltls can live in mud in the wild, burrowing into it for protection and foraging. tbh waddles being the axolotl in other form is low key hilarious while both forms like the mud.
Also note the judgement stare from waddles? Waddles ran to stanley before they fell.. and even glance back at Stanley/bill waiting.
Therapy did go well for bill, or he wouldn't be hinted to come back as Stanley later, as parallels between bill and stanley are strong..
For why Stanley later tells his past self, "Surprised you didn't recognize it." because it's bill's own mind to... Explaining why Stanley already had control of his mind when his past self entered it early on.
Also final clue why think waddles might be the Axolotl.
After Stanley loose his memories... It was waddle touch. That restored Stanley mind... Bill asking the Axolotl to save him!

Waddles mystery so far
Knew mabel name before ever meeting her, could speak her name.
Guided the lady back home, knew where she lived. because later the lady was impressed with waddles/while he was in soos body. The Axolotl in gravity falls is consider a god.
Episode together with Stanley, hinted he was checking up on stanley/bill progress, not betraying family trust.
Restores Stanley/bill mind final episode. loop/cycle from when bill called for help.. Though the question is will this this loop ever be broken later? If Stanley shakes his older body hand at old age/near death. Making his conscious/soul transfer back to his original body he left behind. Bill was shown to shapeshift. So could take back his human form while avoiding death.
Also side note to stanley eyepatch, with the book of bill.
beside the bills in stanley hands/ 1 eye symbolism to his past self.
see the cracks over bill 1 eye.... reminds me of the eyepatch across his face..
anyways, above with the Axolotl being waddles could be a maybe, or maybe not. but it is funny if true. Guess will have to wait for more lore.
