the problem with a lot of the conversations around monogamy i see is so much of it is about whether or not your partner should fuck other people and i think that's ultimately a super personal decision but the real problem with the monogamic ideal of relationships that so many of us internalize is that one person is supposed to fill every gap in your life and be able to do everything with you and be everything you need and like. that's bad for everyone involved
