I'm baaaack...
After 3 years, I'm back.
New and improved!
//Greetings friends, I am not dead.
//Okay, folks. That's it. Off I go.
See ya, space cowboys.
favorite song at the moment?
//Dan Croll - From Nowhere (Baardsen Remix)
funniest thing that happened to you at work?
//Oh there’s so many.
But my all time favorite actually happened recently.
There was this really drunk girl the police dropped off and we were trying to help her get out of the car without falling. But when she saw us approaching, she swung her purse at us. Her phone flew out of it and clocked me on the jaw. I caught it before it hit the ground but man did that hurt. It was still funny though!
Chikko is very shy around men?
//It can stretch to girls too if they are really clinging and too affectionate with her. Chikko is the kind that prefers her space unless she really likes someone, then she can tolerate it more.
Generally if a guy tries to work his magic on her, she’ll shrink away or slip out quickly so she can get away which is usually very comical. Because if she gets too embarrassed, she’ll end up running away from them like they were a wild animal because she panics easily.
I guess because of this, some people like the chase because Chikko won’t fold so easily. However in terms of manipulating her using words. That’s a whole different story.
//I got some anon asks to answer and then I'll be done.
Kaen was silent during her tirade and half expected to be hit or punched at some point. He couldn’t deny any of that she claimed — it was all true. The only reasoning he had for actually going to her whenever there was trouble was because she was always the first he came across. Okay, perhaps that wasn’t true all the time. Mako did cross his path every but he knew better than to mouth off to the cap’n’s second in command.
Truth be told he was hard on her because he wanted her to succeed. If she was going to be a carpenter on the ship under him, then Kaen was going to push her until she was better than him. Male ego wouldn’t allow him to tell her that. Yet he had no clue of her crush on him — with how they both treated each other he never would have guess it.
"Yer a mess," he said, motioning for Chikko to come along. "I got a room a’the inn nearby. We c’n share it an’ I won’t touch ya. Not even iffin’ ye start snorin’."
"...Wat?" Her eyes widened in disbelief. "No. No, no, no, no, nooooo." She drawls, shaking her head and raising a finger while backing away from the taller male. "No, Kaen. Ah'm not sharin' a room wit ye because I d'not feel like havin' cap'n's foot 6 feet deep in me ass." Then she scowls and balls her hands into fists. "Hmph, I ain't worried about ye touchin' me! I know ye wouldn't even if someone were ta put a blade to yer throat, ye stupid oaf! Spirits!" Chikko felt that his comment about him not touching her was unnecessary and it made her even more defensive.
"How about this? Ye gimmie tha keys ta yer room and I'll sleep in there and ye can go back to tha ship and get comfy with cap'n and sleep on 'er bed? Ah? Deal?"
The female carpenter outstretches her hand expectantly. "Give 'em here."
There was no way she was going to risk sharing a room with Kaen of all people. If she was going to get a room, she wanted it for herself and not worry about constantly fighting with someone. She wanted to shower and eat and relax and him being there would disturb all that. A deal like this should be good for him, he likes being near the captain so why waste money on a room when he could be getting cozy with her? She was confident that he'd take her offer. At least they wouldn't have to see each other for a while as opposed to being on the ship where he was constantly hovering over her.
"Les go, I don't got all night, Kaen."

He made no attempt to comment on her behalf and continued to eat in silence. He knew that feeling all too well, especially during those first few days when he had nothing but the clothes on his back and a handful of money he had on his pocket. It was only enough to keep him on his feet until some merchant found him laying over some plywood and under the shade of a tree.
"Some people can be very considerate for the well-beings of others."
"Yes...I wouldn't b-be alive right now if it weren't for the k-kindness of a few st-trangers." Chikko grins before finishing the last of her tea and noodles. She reaches to take another napkin and wipes her mouth with it while Wong took the bowl and cup. The homeless earthbender stood and bowed politely. "Thank you, that was very delicious."
Wong merely waved a dismissive hand. "Think nothing of it, just stay out of trouble, okay? Come back soon, I'll have more noodles for you." He watches the petite girl leave and then shakes his head. "It's a shame that a small, young girl like that has no were to go. Very sweet girl. I hope something comes up for her soon."
//Hi folks, will be working on drafts.
//I have a couple more drafts to do but for now I'm gonna take a break from it.
Maybe I'll get more of a muse later.
Dammit, the other was so infuriating. How in all the hells could she not understand that a crew that didn’t stand together would fall? Even for something as petty as an old grudge could take them down. He had learned that during his time as part of the crew on the Damnation. He and Inia had talked at length on it and set to working on any of their own problems and insecurities so everything would run smoothly and as perfect as it could. There were to be hitches, of course, that was always expected.
Yet hearing this lass say that he’d jump for joy at her passing? Or discovering her corpse. Spirits, they had had their rough points in time, but had their squabbles led her to really believe that he’d want her gone? For good? Instead of saying anything just yet he grabbed her by the arm so he could hoist her up. “Ye really think yer death is somethin’ I want? That I’d find some perverse pleasure in seeing yer corpse?!” He was yelling, he knew this. “We’re all part of the Damnation, an’ yer the only one tryin’ ter go out on yer own, thinkin’ ye don’t need any help, or that none o’ us ‘re gonna help ya even iffin’ ye do ask. Why’re ya so keen on just dying in the ditch like some dog!?”
His yelling causes her to grimace and she moves to cover her ears with both hands. When he was done, she ripped her arm from his grasp, fully awake now because of his big mouth. "First off, will ye shut up!? Do ye want tha whole town ta hear ye!? Bloody spirits.."
She grunts in annoyance and dusts off her clothes. "Maybe I want to, ah!? Did ye ever think about that!?" Chikko began to pace back and forth. No matter what she did or said, Kaen was always there and granted, she would have appreciated his help more if she didn't have her own inner demons to worry about. "An' how many times did I offer ye help only for ye ta push me away? Especially about cap'n? Somethin' happens between ye two and who be the first person ye run to ta whine about it? Me! Who fixes up the deck after ye giant self steps through tha wood? Me! Who brings ye a bag o' ice after Inia let's ye have a what for? Me! Who's tha giant lightnin' rod that takes all of ye stress and frustrations? ME! ME! ME!" The carpenter pounds on her chest with her open hand to emphasize her point. "Fer fuck's sake, Kaen, I liked it better when ye ignored me! Ye be the annoyin' brother I wish I never had!" Chikko was just venting now and she waved her hands in an animated fashion to showcase her frustration. "I ain't worried about tha crew lookin' out for me, ah'm worried about you always hauntin' me everywhere! Why don't ye go away!? Go find cap'n! Fuck 'er brains out or somethin' but just leave me be! I can take care o' meself!"
Chikko heaves as if she were on the verge of tears. "Why ye!? Why!? Why is it always ye..?" She knew the crew had to stick together, and she would die to protect any one of them and try her best to look out for them, but the one person she always had a problem with was Kaen. They'd been working together for a long time now and he was always breathing down her neck. Especially when him and the captain would have their arguments and then later she'd have to lay there and hear them get all lovey dovey in the bed room and it was awful. She would lose sleep and she'd even tried ignoring the bastard but he'd just follow her around everywhere until she got angry enough to yell at him. But the big reason...the main reason that she could be so irrational around him is the fact that she loved him. But she hated him too. Chikko wanted to snog him..and then punch him really hard in the face. Repeatedly.
In a defeated passion, the young pirate sighed and took off her glasses to wipe them on her shirt before putting them back on. "I never said ye'd get off on seein' me dead. I'm pretty sure ye'd sooner get hard jus' lookin' at cap'n than me corpse." The female turns from Kaen and shrugs. "So where do ye wanna drag me off to?"
