we have two views of john and adam, one of john from ghoul adam who purposely took adam’s memories about john and decieved the winchesters, and one from Adam himself.
this fandom loves to believe what the ghoul said for some ungodly fucking reason. but we have words from actual adam himself that john came once a year for about three years because it lines up with sam going away to college, and when he dies.
we have words from adam’s actual mouth that john was some guy who showed up once a year and took him to a baseball game.
we have words from adam’s own mouth that his mom worked the graveyard shift so he cooked his own dinners, and put himself to bed, and he likely rarely saw her when it wasn’t her day off.
but BAS THE PICTURES! yes their are pictures john may have only showed up once a year but he was also adam’s dad. of course kate would be happy to have him there, she’s not gonna be a bitch to him cause he peaced out for 11 years and suddenly showed up again
also when you say that john raised adam well, you completely ignore all the work that Kate a single mom did. john had no hand in raising adam, him not telling adam or kate about the monsters and shit is not allowing them to have a life, it is fucking careless as we see the ghouls kill them, something ADAM FUCKING REMEMBERS, because they wanted revenge on john.
so if you are of the belief adam is an example of the type of parent john could have been please see yourselves out because he is not an example of john’s parenting, he might not have had a hunter life, but he didn’t have a perfect apple pie life that everyone thinks he did because those that do IGNORE ADAM’S OWN WORDS
if you believe the ghoul version of adam over adam himself you were duped just as hard as fucking sam and dean themselves, particularly dean
4x19 is an important insight to adam’s life, but it is also partly false because adam is not adam, the way jake portrays the ghoul and actual adam are worlds apart. and before you say adam was a jerk to sam in dean in s5. he didn’t know these dudes, Zachariah ended up being right in the end, he had every right to be pissed. adam has every right to be angry at them he doesn’t know them, but don’t forget Sam explicitely states that adam’s attitude would allow him to fit in. DO NOT FORGET THAT. Adam may be angry, but he also rightfully in season 5 is similar enough that even through his anger, his sarcasm allows Sam to be like yeah you’d fit in. So do not say he was just being rude to them for no reason he wasn’t.
