I’ve done two separate Shadow pieces and you can really see how much the design has changed, along with how much more comfortable I’ve gotten with drawing him! (And this is in the span of a single month-)
The reason they look a little different is that I used a red overlay for the first piece which makes it look warmer!
I’ll try to get better scans of my traditional art because that’s where most of my Shadow hyper fixation has gone-
people are literally so boring a male character will kill 10000 people and steal candy from babies and theyll be like omg thats my king! but a female character is rude once and theyre like i hope she dies violently
bro i hate having creative fomo. i see ppl with comics abt their furry ocs and im like "i wanna do that too". then i see ppl making animated series abt their ocs and im like "i wanna do that too". then i see ppl making visual novels and im like "i wanna do that too". then i see someone using a certain art style and im like "i wanna do that too"
i literally see anybody doing anything creative and i instantly want to do it too but i never end up doing it and then i get sad that im not doing it bc i still see the other ppl doing it and im tireddddd LET ME LIVEEEE
I will add this as my last point in this whole situation about Dream (because I could dissect this whole thing and cross reference but I’d go actually insane):
The fact, that at multiple points we have seen Dream go around and state; “Where’s the context?” “You have no evidence?” “Be clearer.” “Where’s the proof?”
And then when Tubbo asks for context to claims or accusations Dream is making it’s Dream going; “It was a joke so I don’t need to.” “I don’t see how I should’ve shown context or evidence.” “I don’t need to show evidence if it’s a joke.”
When in Dream’s video or stream, it is not clear when jokes are being made and instead they are being stated as fact. So yes, proof is indeed required.
The fact that Dream complained about the double standard with the r slur, then has this double standard when it comes to evidence. Is so frustrating.
Either evidence and proof is required or it is not. Regardless of if you are joking or not.
The way that I have been just- baffled entirely by the whole Dream situation- (not baffled at Dream’s behavior, I’m not surprised at this point)
Much like many others, I too have been activated as a dsmp sleeper agent, I will say this. Never liked Dream. Always had a very bad feeling about him.
As always ramble under the cut:
I’ve been talking about this situation all day because some of what Dream has said is actually insane. “Slur slinging slasher” has been a true highlight-
I will add my two cents, as a person with auDHD and who grew up in a very white privileged school system, the way Dream used the r slur is not reclaiming the slur. He is just blatantly using it to degrade, demean, and insult a group of people, the exact way that word is used. That is not reclaiming a word that is keeping that words power.
And maybe this is a me thing, I wouldn’t use the r slur myself. Mainly because my family has used it to demean me and others and so it’s not something I use, for Dream to not only have used it recently but him to have used it before and even back then having been told why not to use it. Still went ahead to use it. Is concerning to say the least.
Also can content creators stop using the phrase; “Anyone who knows me knows that _”. That doesn’t mean shit to a public audience and continues to perpetuate the parasocial dynamic between audiences and creators. It just sounds like trying to appeal to an audience base just on a surface level.
Him avoiding talking about whether or not he supports Trump is also something I don’t like, it’s either a yes or a no. If you dance around it, it makes you look horrendous.
I also want to touch on the DSMP server stuff, if a minor wants you to “treat them like an adult”. That does not mean you are allowed to send them porn. Under no circumstances is that ok. Period.
Dream adding extra context, under the pretense of trying to make something seem better. Doesn’t make him look better. I’m lightly quoting Tubbo here “Sometimes the context just doesn’t matter”
I don’t think Dream is capable of change, four years later he acts exactly the same. It’s the same cycle, only this time the people he’s fighting are mature enough to not only have calmer takes than him. But know not only when he’s just talking out of his ass or know when to stop talking to him. I think he needs to get off the internet, stop trying to content grind, and seek therapy.
I will add: Dream laughing during the stream, whether through a stress response or something else. Was disconcerting to say the least, it was something that was odd to hear as he’s talking about calling 15 million people the r slur.

I also saw Sonic 3 two times and had the best time!! I’ll ramble about it after the art
I kinda just wanna go rambling about Shadow;
I love this silly edgy guy, yes he is a tragic character and his story is genuinely heart breaking. But he has wormed his way into my brain and I love him so much.
The movie really made me really empathize with Shadow, and I already very much empathized with him. The scenes with him and Maria were so much fun and made her death so much more devastating. If we ever get a Shadow spin off, I want a flashback episode where we get to see more of them hanging out.
I also really like how they allowed Shadow to show more expressions, rather than him just be brooding all the time. We see him afraid and happy and hurt, do I wish they used his ears more in the expressions?
Absolutely, but that’s my animator brain thinking about every body part in an expression. But it doesn’t hinder my enjoyment.
When I draw Shadow I tend to lean into making him fluffier and a lot sharper, which you can see in my Shadow design sheet and with how I almost went back to those traits with movie Shadow.
I’m also toying with making acrylic charms or stickers of the Sonic characters, I already have the Shadow design up on my RedBubble if anyone wants to take a glance. I’m working on finishing Sonic’s design and I have a Silver one in the works.
If anyone has any character suggestions let me know! I will obviously doing the core cast but I know there are characters I’m unfamiliar with (comic lore I fear it /lh)
