Returning to campus was.. difficult to say the least. Hans had taken Gavin out of school, bringing him home to the Southern Isle. Once word got out about his son having a fling with the ice queenâs spawn, Hans actually commended his son. Finding his way to the crown just like his old man had tried. But as Gavin confessed to having real feelings or Erik, his father was not pleased.
Hans had brought Gavin home to do a little damage control. He reminded him of the harm that Elsa had cause their family, where their rightful place was, what their mission was. And when that didnât do much convincing, Hans did what he was good at. He dug for the insecurity, he dug deep for what Gavin was truly ashamed of. His powers. That Gavin was never going to be able to actually be with the prince. That he couldnât hold his hand properly, or hug him or dare he say even kiss him. It just couldnât be.
That sent Gavin right into a spiral. He could never be with Erik, or anyone for that matter, and that was something he was just going to have to get used to. So he returned to school a few weeks later, of course he had impeccable timing. A video of their late leader was released. Perfect. Maybe that would distract people from his sudden reappearance.
So walking through campus the following day, Gavin did his best to keep his head down, staying low until he could figure out a better game plan. His eyes were glued to the ground as he walked, his shoulder bumping into another person. âExcuse me,â he mumbled before continuing on his way.
Since the video had gotten released, Rowan hadnât been getting much sleep. In the aftermath, his desire to help solve the mystery had only been kicked into a whole new gear. However, this also meant he lacked the usual grip he had on his powers. Cloudy skies tended to pop up more often and for whatever reasons, ghosts found him much easier to track down. This cocktail of events was why he was currently listening to music as he walked around campus.
At least he had been, until heâd bumped into someone. âItâs alright,â Rowan responded as he took an earbud out then turned around, closing his mouth upon assuming that the other male wouldnât come to a halt anytime soon. Still, there was something one of his uncles had advised him. Take a leap of faith. With that very thought repeating in his head, the 19 year old added, âSorry about that. It was my fault too.â
