A German regional court has ruled that Google is directly liable for the content of its AI search overviews. According to the court, previou
Let’s fucking go
This is HUGE.
1. The court holds Google responsible for statements made by its AI, considering them Google's statements (search engines have limited liability for results in their engine as they're the words of other sites/companies/people), meaning when their AI lies/hallucinates they're liable for the defamation/harm resulting from those statements.
2. Google's defense that customers are generally aware of the lack of reliability and are responsible for fact checking was dismissed. As the court pointed out, that would "significantly diminish" AI Search's stated purpose and it can't be distinguished from Google's business practices/statements as a search tool.
3. Studies have found about 91% of Google's everyday AI responses are accurate, leaving millions of searches per HOUR with potential liability for falsehoods. 56% of correct responses weren't supported by the sources the AI listed. Both of which mean Google is now liable for a LOT more AI "errors."
4. Google was held liable for 80% of court costs in this case and this precedent is expected to reverberate around the world. This is a massive shift from the 3rd-party search provider role Google has previously played and it comes right as they've tied ALL searches to their AI search.
TL;DR Google reeeeeally stepped in it this time.

actually fucking disgusting that glasses cost any money like if you actually think about it for more than a few seconds it is so unconscionably inhumane. this goes for things like insulin and mobility aids and hearing aids too ofc but fuck man, fucking glasses? the thing you need to fucking see? its genuinely sickening and inhumanly evil that those cost ANYTHING.
My dad is a type 1 diabetic and the prices he pays are fucking diabolical. Anyone who supports this backwards system is so far mislead.
I am NOT used to having as many emotions as I do on hrt. Was completely flat (neutral to depressed) for my whole life. Wierd how much things change

Idk why I get on this hopefulposting bullshit 2 montha later im flipping back and fourth between wanting to die and feeling like I am meaningful. Idk I feel like im tripping all the time like no way this shit is real. I miss when I was a kid and everything felt so much more impactful. I might be a better person now but fuck. Pls let me escape the drugs dont cut it anymore please i have no serotonin left. I wish i could seek asylum online like I did in my teens but I dont feel connected anymore. I have never contributed anything useful to this world, my voice is silent. Guess all I can do is keep walking huh

Do not pick up the Kolibri!!
the awesome thing is that outlook lets you use a different authenticator app to sign up but you can only use it 3 times before you have to set up with MSAuth. imagine running out in space
I have a rule with piracy; if your music is on bandcamp I will buy it. JUST PUT YOUR GODDAMN MUSIC ON BANDCAMP ILL LITERALLY GIVE YOU $10 FOR THE ALBUM. Its THAT EASY. All i want is an sd card with my music on it that I paid for, I swear 1/3 of my library is stream-ripped 128kbps because of this shit. I will NEVER FORGIVE YOU streaming companies.
It seems to me that kraftwerk fandom consists of either goth girls or weird guys hahaha
Here to represent Kraftwerk goth girls :>
Moving forward I want to start updating this blog more!! I would love to use this blog as a medium for my experiences with self hosting, HRT, audiophile stuff and plants in the future. Over the past 6 months my life has changed so much. Having a place to reflect and talk about experiences and thoughts others may relate to is valuable and I would like to be able to provide my little section of that! x3 I have been fortunate enough to move out of the trap house I was temporarily staying in to an apartment with my amazing partner in a far more walkable and progressive city in my state. Things have undboutably been challenging and I am currently navigating multiple addictions but it has been a beautiful spring and I am hopeful for my future in this strange existence. Too all my lgbtq+ siblings, stay connected and stay together. I have been researching and educating myself politically more than ever, and despite the abhorrent and blatantly fascist oligarchic state of the united state's government, we will persist. The truth will never change, no matter how much work is done to diminish it. I am tired of beating myself up for stagnation and lack of "productivity," I need to enjoy my stupid little life and I am going to try my best to do that.
Going Into Welding as a Trans Woman
For starters I am in my second year of college now. First year I was working on an associate's degree in Cybersecurity and found that the career path was really not for me. I love computers and engineering but cannot really see myself working a desk job or anything IT related that is very corporate and I cannot afford to get a bachelor's or anything non-community college. Next summer/fall I have been considering going into an Associate of Applied Sciences in welding technology. I have been mig welding on and off as needed for a few years, mostly just to fix things or occasionally to make a friend a weird bracket they need or something. Working with my hands, physically applying engineering concepts, and using my current and future welding and fabrication skills all sound very appealing. My main hesitation in going down this path is potential workplace discrimination. There have been several jobs in which I have faced some level of discrimination or at least judgment. While I am not easily offended, and have plenty of experience dealing with rather unsupportive environments, it does take a toll on my mental health and self image to some degree if it is related to issues which I experience. So, to all my queers in the trades, any advice? How has your experience been in this profession, id love to know!
