There was always an unspoken bond the two had shared, it only grew stronger over the years and despite his isolation and distance it hadn’t faded. She was reaching out but he was gone, or at least the boy she had met was gone. Leia knew that, she could see his change over the years of the fighting, becoming the Jedi he was, his journey into the darkness but she was right. He was gone though present. 

                      I thought I had lost you too…..

“I’m not so sure you haven’t.” his voice even, cool, it almost sounded vacant. Turning to face his sister for the first times, his eyes were both calm and yet raged like a thunder storm within him. 

“What am I supposed to do?” finally looking at his sister. “You know that if I join this fight, I cannot hold back because he is your son………..” 

     {♛} She was silent for a long while after he spoke. She knew he wouldn't hold back, not after what Ben had done to him. To his family. "I know..." She says through a rough whisper. "There is no way to forget.... it's like a shadow that weighs us all down... but we have to do something or the entire galaxy will be in ruin and chaos... it needs balance... the constant push and pull of the light side and the dark side are coming to a breaking point...." She closes her eyes and breaths out roughly , this history has been repeating for some time now. The threat of it and, their father still lingered in place of her son now. 

       "Our tainted history is playing on repeat.. but we could finally change it if we take the initiative once again...." She didn't want to say the words that haunted the back of her mind. The truth of the matter. If Ben couldn't be stopped or if he couldn't come back to the light side even a little. He would need to be killed. Her hand tightened in a fist. Her mind focusing on Snoke. He was considered just a part of the first order, a form of support. But Leia still blamed him for everything. Taking her son, killing her pilots, Han’s Death and destroying everything they had built.  "It still needs to be done." She struggled, if either Like or Ben were to be killed, she would die inside herself. There is only so much loss she can take. Leia raised her head her jaw set in a line. Yet here she was. Putting others in front of her own wants and needs. Again.

He didn’t look at her at first. He hadn’t slept well, of course. He didn’t even know what it was like to sleep well. But she didn’t need to know that, especially if she thought he didn’t need to know about whatever her ailment was. But then he heard her second question. How could he answer that? He couldn’t possibly tell her the truth, because he wasn’t happy. He was hurt by his Master, beaten and broken and reformed whenever he made a mistake. The darkness was unforgiving and tore at him all the time, trying to drag him deeper and it hurt. 

But he couldn’t tell her any of that. “I’m free,” he said without looking up, “I’m more free than I’ve ever been. I have more power than I ever had. People … respect me. For once. I’m content. I live well and I have what I need and I’m happy.” Wasn’t that what happiness was? It wasn’t a total lie. People did respect him, though it was out of fear. He was content, just not all the time, like most other people. He was content when he was meditating, when he was taking down his enemies and winning fights, when he was with the one he loved. He was content then, because those moments kept out the nightmares, the pain of what he had been through.

      {♛}  He was a liar, at least she hoped he was. each word he spoke hurt her. This isn’t what she wanted to hear at all. She wanted him to say he was uncertain, unhappy, unclear about any of it. She needed something to go off of. Something to REACH him. yet he kept his walls up so high even SHE couldn’t climb them very well. “I see.” Her voice was flat. “Your free. But free of what exactly? your family? Is that the name you wanted your freedom from?” Her eyes bore into his own. “Then forever keep your new name then... deny your heritage. And stay HAPPY. With who you are as a person and your choices.”

          She stayed where she was her expression unmoving and flat. She wasn’t happy, nor was she mad at him. It was neutral look. One that she hoped he couldn’t see past to her disappointment. “Why haven’t you left.” Her voice cut through the silence for a moment.  She felt her hand tense but the voice to the doctor in her mind brought her to try to calm down again.

Time seemed to freeze as the millennium falcon once again took Luke what seemed to be back in time. Flashes of all that had happened since his days lived in ignorance on Tatooine. So much had happened, and continued to happen, as the ship landed Luke could feel he crowd gather and still sat in meditation as Rey and Chewie embarked onto the base. He rose and made his way to the cockpit, standing in silence his hand resting on the captain’s chair. Han’s chair and the weight of all that had been lost since he chose to become a Jedi, how much he could not react to his emotions, and the guilt he felt for having failed so many. He snesed her long before she heard him. His mechanical hand tightening against the chair before she finally spoke. 

He removed his hood for a moment, but was an able to face her just yet. Not Leia, not his sister the one person who could possibly understand him and the one person he failed in all this galaxy the most. 

‘‘ He always did right by you in the end….. no matter how many missteps he took….. he always came back to you….”  

      {♛} She paused once he spoke her mind going to Han. The man she loved in so many ways. A lover, A husband, a father.... now he was a ghost. A reminder of every thing she wanted to say that was too late. Although they had gone their separate ways. She still loved him. Shaking her head she looked up. “This is true... and I would always say he tried his hardest when it came to family...” Her voice was pained before she closed her eyes for a moment. thinking everything through.

         “I thought I had lost you too...” the word she said wasn’t what many would have used. She of course would have felt if she lost Luke ten fold just as she had with Han. The use of her words wasn’t that she was worried her brother had died... but that he was so far gone and lost himself. “But you seem even still very.... gone to me now...” She folded her hands in front of her, her ring glimmering in the small amount of light that reached the cockpit. “talk to me, Luke.” Her eyes never left his back as she stared intently at him.
