i keep seeing people say that buck convinced eddie that he was okay but like. i dont think he actually did?? like i think eddie still very much believes that buck is not okay, he still sees that something is wrong, but his usual tactic — deploying chris — didnt work. and turning this into a fight isn't going to work either — he wants buck to open the door, he doesnt want to have to break it down. i think he just doesnt know HOW to approach buck about it yet. he needs to regroup and come up with a new game plan. and it has to be right too, because going about it the wrong way will drive buck further away, which is the last thing eddie wants right now. he's got to be smart about it. so he plays along for now, lets buck think that he's appeased eddie, that he's successfully convinced him. he hasn't though. eddie knows something is still wrong — the thing is, he has no idea just how wrong it really is.

Do you think there’s any reason to guess that Buck has been struggling with the pills since before New Mexico? 🤔🤔

I could be completely wrong, but now I can’t stop wondering what Tim was referring to. I’m genuinely just thinking out loud and curious to know what other people’s theories are for what Tim said.

One of my favorite moments from the episode was the second time Eddie and Chris went to Buck house. You can see and hear and feel the nervousness in Eddie as he’s knocking on the front door. Anxiously watching that side window, hoping so badly that Buck answers the door. Just so worried and wanting him to be okay.

“C’mon, Buck…”

OK, so that scene where Eddie is trying to convince Buck to go out for the night and he’s listing things to try to entice Buck, one of the things he lists is that there are a lot of bachelorettes or whatever, but when he says that you can see him like gearing up to say that and you can see that he really doesn’t want to say it, you know? Like, immediately his mood just like goes down. And then Buck is immediately like sold, but THEN he directly follows that up with but when we get home, we have to do a film session, right? And you can almost see Eddie kind of light back up before he goes back to his usual like sarcastic self.

But it’s just like the split second interaction of Eddie being like “I don’t want you to go out and hook up with someone, but I want to spend time with you and I’m willing to make this sacrifice” and Buck being like “I don’t really want to go hook up with someone but I can see that you genuinely want to have fun so I’m willing to do this, but also I’m not planning on meeting anyone because I wanna come home and then spend more time with you” and I just—oh my god.

Beautiful, perfect, just 10 out of 10, no notes, chef’s kiss.
