Only War
It's been a while, but we started up an Only War campaign. We had a small starter session where we pretty much just rolled for our characters and got equipment. One of out 3 people turned up. The second session, 2 people turned up, one said he didn't like the style of gm, and that his stats had already been roll d, which he told us to do. He's only here for free food basically. We will let him stay unless he wants out, but next campaign we won't invite him.
New group
We are looking for a new local group after a power-player who talked each session posted this: "From here on out, I will no longer patricipate in Deathwatch sessions. I've found that recently the state of play has slipped and I've lost interest. I used to look forward to a session, wondering whats gonna happen but as of late it's been wondering if anything might happen at all. There's players who still have no grasp on what they're meant to do as a character or even a grasp on the game itself and how it's played. This causes any fight sessions to slow right down as we wait and any sessions that require more roleplay to rely solely on individuals. And that includes game breaking, which takes any challenge away the session. I've heard of deathwatch games that have seen a sole survivor barely walk away, but when what is meant to of been a final boss is slaughtered in a single turn of combat, where's the challenge? There are things that need fixing within the group but I will no longer partake in it."
Little does he know he is one of the game breakers, constantly talking and turning up late.
The GMs are still learning how to GM, so we need to bear with them. It did not help that everyone branched out to try to get the race they wanted instead of learning how to play the basics.
The guy who hosts it at his house is too preoccupied with his kid to bother with anything.

Been skyping it a bit, it's not great, they won't turn on the webcam, so I loose focus with nothing to look at. Had some bad rolls too, and the gm almost killed me off first turn of combat, he keeps forgetting we are only level 1 space marines, not all powerful yet.

Seeing as some of us now live over an hours drive away, there will be an element of skype involved... This could go well or really badly, and I'm one of the ones who will be sat at home on the other end of the computer as everyone else plays...

Another update
Still not started. Getting fed up of not doing it. GM has the book he was waiting for, says he's busy at the moment, but could we all meet up and go to the pub? If we can go to the pub for a night we can go to his and play Deathwatch/Dark Heresy there and drink there too for cheaper.
In my mind, and other peoples, we are just wasting time.

Still waiting for it to start... Waiting on the GM to get an un-needed book because he wants to do a campaign from that, never mind that we have other campaign books and other people with campaigns already prepared. We have 3-6 lined up and waiting...
Deathwatch
After having a break for more then 6 months due to A) a GM fluffing up and refusing to admit it then B) the guy whose house we play Deathwatch at, he had a kid, we are hoping to start again in February. After the 8th because there is another new book being released. I just want to get this started. It's going to be on Tuesday evenings, probably 6pm-1am depending on who has to work early the next day. This means I will be back to sleeping on the floor at a friends house instead of driving home and getting back at about 2.30am. Luckily I have nothing to do on Wednesdays so I can just sleep.
If I have nothing to do why don't I just drive home? Simple answer, I'm damn tired after RP, having been up since 6am, gone to uni then to RP, it takes a lot out of me mentally.
Hopefully once this campaign is done, one guy will have a go at being GM with his own campaign that he invented, then it will be my turn, finally, over a year since I was told that I would be next. I have a couple of ideas for campaigns, but for my first one, to get to grips with GMing, I am doing one from a book. Some parts still confuse me, so it will be like a learning curve for me.
