Realization: Recycling bottles for money is like living in Animal Crossing
Think about it. In Animal Crossing, you pick up random items and take them to Re-Tail and get a few bells for them. Like, seashells, beehives, etc.
You’re getting paid for junk. You spend a few hours gathering things and if you save up you can make a bunch of money.
Just a thought.
Actually, PBS idea channel did a whole video on animal crossing and "otaku citizenship". It's a really cool concept, how doing little things that seem like nothing but junk can actually benefit you and your community in the long run. Collecting cans and bottles, or selling your clothes to local consignment shops not only gives you a little money, but supports your community and the environment.
Use a lemon, orange or a grapefruit to start your seedlings. Plant the entire thing in the ground and the peels will compost directly into the soil to nourish the plants as they grow.
This is so cool
Testing
So I found a new packaging closing method on Pinterest I thought would be cool to try, especially because we use way too many plastic bottles at our house.
Here is the original link
Okay, so I'm currently using an old coke bottle, as it was lying around and I am saving our water bottle caps for another project.
So, I had a plastic and paper bag (both filled with chocolate because I love chocolate). My main concern with the paper bag was that it was thick and flimsy, so I thought I would test plastic as well.
The paper bag was a complete failure, not only did it severely damage the bag, but I couldn't get the cap on securely.
The plastic bag went on securely, but it also severely damaged it. So, because the original pin showed a chocolate chip bag I actually went downstairs to try one of those.
The chocolate chip bag worked the best, the plastic was still decently in tact, and the bag closed securely around it. So, my recommendation is that this would actually work and might be a good way to save some plastic (especially if you are unsure about the recyclability of #5 plastic in your area) but it's best used on strong plastics.
Great ideas for recycling plastic bottles.

How to Re-Use: Toilet Paper Rolls
It might be easier to just toss old toilet paper rolls in the trashcan we all have within arms reach of the toilet, but these reuse methods are good for the your home, the environment, and even your wallet.
