London Trip — 31/5/2018
Here are some photos I took from the Coca-Cola London Eye on our trip to London for my Mother-in-law’s 50th. Besides the packed transport, long queues, and cancelled trains, it was a great trip and was really fun seeing the sights of London for the first time in a while.
The day was quite foggy (or smoggy) so the pictures I initially got weren't the best but with a bit of photoshop they turned out great. What struck me when looking over the photos was the sheer amount of cranes in the skyline. You just can't have a city without cranes it would seem as the same is true of Cambridge.
It’s a shame that Big Ben was covered up as I would have liked to get some closer shots of it but I managed to get most of the other good stuff like Canary Wharf, The Shard, etc. I was quite surprised by the scale of Waterloo station as you can really see the magnitude of the operation they are running there, I almost sympathise with them for having to cancel our train amongst all their other logistics, almost.
After the eye, we went to Madame Tussauds’ Wax Museum, which was packed to the brim and nigh impossible to get a photo, so I didn’t. But rest assured it was very good, unnerving, and confusing all at once. The ‘behind the scenes’ section was particularly cool with Beyonce explaining the process in her best ‘they are paying me to read a script’ voice.
All-in-all, good trip, enjoy the photos!
