My entry for the Berlin fanfest art contest was picked as a finalist! I worked really hard and was super proud of this piece so I'm really happy to be picked! It was a really nice yet surprising thing to wake up to all my friends pinging me about it :D
Theres so many beautiful ones and I'm honoured to be among them! please check them out and vote for your favourites!
The official website of FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Festival 2026 in Berlin.
Working on a new Triple Triad card for the Berlin fanfest! Now to decide what glam to use :)c
Last Fanfest I didnt submit an entry for the art contest, but this time, I did! I am probably the busiest I've ever been at the moment but I wanted to do this regardless! Even if it doesn't get picked as a finalist, I'm super proud of my entry and I know I did my best and made a good one!

So uh, make sure you check your junk mail! I’m apparently going to the Germany fanfest and only just realised I got some tickets after believing I’d lost the lottery

Someone rickrolled me in roulette yesterday 💀
Reminder that if you'd talk with NPC at starlight event aftet you finished with quests you can continue serving drinks and meet some familiar faces!
I worry some people might miss it since this interaction doesn't show any marker.
i have decided to try out ff14. do you have any tips for new ppl?
ahhh yay! that's so exciting! :>
it think someone asked me this a long time ago when i was still pretty new to the game-- i feel much more qualified to answer now lol!
Find a guide to learn how to play your job. FFXIV does a pretty bad job of teaching you what your job's rotation is. There are a lot of really helpful videos on YouTube that will show you how to play your job at each level cap. It'll help a lot, since just trying to read the tooltips can be daunting and confusing...
If you're playing on console, it is a worthy investment to buy a USB keyboard if you don't have one. Being able to chat with other players will make your experience so much better. Also, there are quests where you'll have to type out phrases and that SUCKS on controller.
Do quests with blue markers. Those are unlock quests that will allow you to access dungeons, raids, jobs, and more. Two of these quests unlock mounts and access to the aesthetician-- very important!
Fix your HUD. Trust me. It's a mess at first. Take the time to arrange things in the way you want them. It's especially bad for Alliance Raids, when the alliance lists are like, huge, and right in the middle of your screen. There are lots of great videos on YouTube showing you how to rearrange your HUD.
Doing your daily Duty Roulettes is a great way to level jobs and get better at playing them.
Embrace your sprout icon. Most players are really patient and accommodating to newbies. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it.
When you're looking to buy something on the marketboard, check first to see if it has a "Shop Selling Price" listed at the bottom. If it does, that means you can buy this item at normal quality from a vendor. Unless you're specifically looking for high-quality items (crafted gear, potions, and food are much better in HQ), just Google the item you want to buy to see which vendor sells it and where. If the Shop Selling Price is cheaper than the marketboard price, and quality isn't a concern, just go to that vendor and buy it directly from them.
When you're going to MSQ, keep the job you're playing geared up. This includes jewelry! A lot of quests will give you coffers or let you select pieces of armor that match the level of the content you're playing through. You can also buy level-appropriate gear from vendors in the various locations you'll travel to throughout the story. If you wear low-level gear, you get hit harder and do less damage. Not a good time for you or anyone!
Speaking of jewelry, check out the Hall of the Novice in whatever of the 3 city-states you start in. They not only teach you the basics of the game, but they also give you pretty good gear (for low levels). You'll also get the Brand New Ring, which gives you a chunky EXP boost to jobs under level 30. You'll get another ring for jobs level 60 and under, as well!
If you care about story, don't skip cutscenes, not even in ARR when things kinda drag. ARR's questline seems a little quaint in comparison to where we've ended up, but establishing a foundation and getting to know the characters and experience their journey is important.
Do not use Duty Finder to queue into Extreme or Savage fights. For really old (level 50 - 70 mostly) raids, you can usually unsync your level and solo most raids. So you can do that if you're mount hunting! But if you want to actually give this content a try at the proper level with a full party, use Party Finder. It may take a while for your party to fill, but you will have a much more pleasant experience than using Duty Finder, where you'll probably end up with maybe a few other players who queued and a handful of Mentors who either don't remember how to do the fight synced or don't want to.
On patch days when new MSQ or raids come out, switch to the Event chat tab until you finish the new stuff. People tend to talk about spoilers in Shout chat when new content drops. Annoying. But you won't see any of it in Event chat.
FFXIV does not consider 1 a prime number. (You'll understand soon.)
I could offer more advice if you have specific questions about stuff in the game! (I'm something of a Mentor myself lol, though I usually keep my crown off these days lol.)
Hope this is enough to help you get started! Welcome to Eorzea. I hope you have so much fun!!!!
I feel like I havent drawn Rubel in so long
Did they hear me bitching about “glamour space is so restricted so why the fuck would I ever get [single crafter or gatherer specific glam] in this economy and how dare those sets be so good” last week lol
this is more than I expected them to ever give us what a time to be alive
