Love Ballads

This was previously posted on my Wattpad. It has been in the works of being rewritten. Most of it is the original storyline (wasn't published) but also changes from the shadows. It will be a long fic in the making and will be posted every Friday.

"You will be dating an upcoming model, Lila Rossi." announced Gabriel, "Is that understood, Adrien?"

"Does it have to be Lila?" asked Adrien.

'Out of all people, why did it have to be her?'

"Dating experience is necessary for your future in finding a bride to uphold the Agreste name." his father continued, "Miss Rossi is new to the public eye and will boost your standing, as you do to hers."

"Understood." sighed Adrien.

"In light of this new 'relationship', you will have three nights to appear more relatable to the public. Let me know the days and what you will be attending on said days. Miss Rossi must accompany you on one of said days." he stated.

"Yes, Father." replied Adrien, as he was dismissed.

'What do couples do? I haven't dated since I was fifteen and I'm pretty sure there's a difference.'

Adrien paced his room as he tried to figure out how to spend his new freedom.

'I have three free days, but I'm stuck with Lila one of those days.'

He didn't really want to spend time with Lila, but that was the price of his freedom. Not to mention, he had to 'date' her. Lila had always been high-maintenance and he was sure somehting like going to the movies, wasn't going to cut it for her. Not to mention, he didn't want to be in a dark room with her. He was sure she'd try something. That was another thing he had to worry about, her lies and fake tears on dates.

'I have to treat her like she's Chloe. Chloe would want five star resturants and shopping so those are out of the question to do with Lila. If I took her somewhere in public, she could create a scene.'

"What do couples do?" he asked out loud, before inspiration struck him.

'Nino!'

Adrien pulled his phone out of his pocket and immediately dialed his best friend's number.

"Adrien, Bro!" Nino answered, "What's going on? Bored at another shoot?"

"No." replied Adrien, "Not this time. I actually need some advice."

"Really? About what?" questioned Nino.

"I have three nights off to appear more 'relatable to the public' and I have no idea what to do. Of course I still have to uphold the family name and all that, but-" said Adrien.

"That's great, Dude!" cried Nino, "I'm sure I can come up with a list in an hour!"

"One catch, I have to bring Lila with me." murmured the young Agreste, "At least on one of those nights."

"Lila? As in Lila Rossi?" asked Nino.

"Yep." Adrien eye-rolled his answer, not that his best friend could tell.

"Congrats, my man! Oh, I got it! Tomorrow, most of us from the old class meet up for karaoke. Majority of us are couples, but we still let in single people, so you can spin it off to your Old Man as a couples night." said Nino, excitedly.

"That sounds great! Okay, what else?" asked Adrien, happily.

"On Wednesdays we have a Guy's Night." the DJ continued, "The girls go off and do their own thing. Sometimes they go out for drink, other times it's movies, or just lounging at someone's place. I'm sure the girls would love if Lila could join them."

"Great! Where do we meet up so I can just give him all the details?" asked the young model.

"We usually rotate places, incase the girls do the same. We usually just chill out at each other's houses, play video games, chill out, and eat junk food." Nino said.

"Okay, I might have to spin that, but I can work on that." Adrien replied, "Got anything else?"

"Fridays, we have Game Night and I seem to remember you almost being a UMS3 champ. Basically it's the same as Guy's Night, but the girls can go too. It's been our way of letting out frustrations from school or work." laughed Nino, " Close to finals, it turns into study sessions, instead."

"Okay, I'll call you back in a bit to let you know how it goes and maybe to get more ideas." spoke Adrien.

"You got it, Bro." said Nino, before hanging up.

Adrien knocked on his Father's office, hoping things go his way for once.

"Enter." he heard his father call.

Adrien entered the room and waited for his father's approval to speak.

"I take it you have some ideas for these days." announced Gabriel from behind his desk.

"Yes, Father." said Adrien, "I called some of my friends for ideas for couples and many of them are old colleagues of both myself and Miss Rossi. On Saturdays, they have couples night karaoke. They also spend their Wednesdays split between gentlemen and the ladies. Friday's are game nights."

"A couple's night out will be relatable and will put your singing skills to use. This gentleman's night will also make you more relatable to your gender, just make sure you do not do anything foolish." spoke Gabriel.

"Of course, Father." calmly said Adrien.

"This 'game night', tell me more." the elder Agreste stated.

"It will be held on Fridays evenings. It is open to everyone. I was hoping to talk with you about relocating it to here, if you allow it?" answered the young model.

"Explain." said Gabriel.

"I was hoping to move this evening to my room. I am well aware I have photoshoots early morning on Saturdays. If I held it here, I could immediatley fall asleep after everyone has left. We can have everyone leave by midnight if you prefer." explained Adrien, "My room is also more equipped to handle a large amount of people and I have a vast amount of systems that can be used. I am told they use this night to destress and once finals approach, they use the night for studying together and help each other with their weakest subjects."

He could feel his father's heavy gaze on him, weighing this idea.

"I will approve this idea, for now, but your friends must be off the premise by midnight and stay only in your room, at a reasonable volume level." said Gabriel.

"Yes, Father. I shall let them know now and will inform Miss Rossi of our planned activities tomorrow." spoke Adrien.

"Very well." said the elder Agreste, with a wave of dismissal.

"So how did it go?" asked Nino.

"He approved of everything!" cried Adrien, excitedly.

"Really?" questioned his best friend.

"Yep. Oh, and I more news. He allowed us to have game night here in my room!" announced Adrien.

"Are you sure that's your Old Man." asked Nino.

"There are some rules." spoke Adrien.

"I spoke to soon." Nino sighed, causing Adrien to laugh.

"I usually have early shoots on Saturdays so everyone has to leave by midnight. We also have to stay in my room and keep the volume to a reasonable level." continued the young Agreste.

"That's cool, Dude. Still open to all genders?" asked Nino.

"Yep. I'm assuming Alya comes to these." chuckled Adrien.

"Nah, she uses it as time to prep for her classes." yawned Nino.

"It is getting late and I have a shoot at 10AM." yawned Adrien in return.

"Night, Bro. Oh, I'll text you the address to the karaoke place." spoke Nino.

"Great. See you tomorrow." said Adrien.

"Tomorrow." said Nino and hung up.

'I can't wait to see everyone again. I wonder what they've been up to. Lila won't be able to manipulate me with so many witnesses.'

I will try and be home shortly to have a talk with you!” Otis told him sternly and Alya looked down sadly having to tell Nino and Adrien that she has to get home with them looking concerned.

All she’s thinking about is how it’s so cool that she’s the one who found Ladybugs identity. It’s so cool that she’s the one who’s revealing it. It’s so cool that her best friend, Marinette, is Ladybug. Her views are going to go through the roof. Television channels are going to be talking about this, they’re going to be calling her and asking to use her footage.

CHAPTER ONE:WHAT HAPPENED TO THE QUEEN

It's been a few years since the queens rein and this reporter is smelling a hint of their return. Nothings official yet though brace yourself Dupont, afterall they do say they is calm before the storm

Silence. That's the only thing people can say they have gotten from the bluenette as of lately. She spent most of her time staring out the window ignoring those around her. Most of the class jad rolled their eyes at the behavior believing this was her way of trying to gain attention.

But those who had sense and knew of the oast, knew better. She was too quiet. Too withdrawn, taking everything her classmates were throwing at her without a single complaint. It was scary really. Those who knew sat in silence, tensely waiting for what would set her off, what would push her off the edge.

Chloe was ecstatic. She had watched as these idiots became too comfortable with the bluenette. At first she was jealous of how well everything was working out, on the fact that their court disembarking left no scars in the school, no bullies no corruption. So she had sought out to find it. Her mean girl denamour had all been an act, she was to prove that this school could not survive without it's leaders and she was right.

She had originally thought that Marinette had weakened with the amount of b*ll she too from Bustier and Damocles. Though she was soon proven wrong when she found out their idiocity was not enough to spark a reunion. She had been so close to giving up, so close to finally letting everything go.

Then miss sausage waltzed in, spewing the most outrageous lies she had ever heard. Then she saw that spark from within her best friends eyes once more, yes she said best friend lil miss self declared did not count. Chloe had sat back with a smirk as she watched these idiots push Marinette over the edge.

They had gotten way to comfortable and they were about to unleash the tiger within. The shouting, the blaming, a bit of bullying there and there and finally the destruction. At first tge bluenette fought against it all then all of a sudden all was silent. They had finally broken her stubbornness. The silent said it all. One wrong move was all that left and it stomped in that Monday morning.

Alya had barged into the class completely furious. She was tired of Marinette and her miss treatment of poor sweet Lila. This time Marinette had gone to far. She aggressively made her way towards tge bluenettes desk snatching her sketch book away from her.

She stared at the girl awaiting a reaction but all she got was a blank expression. Too blank, complete devoid of any emotions. This put her off though not enough to set her off her path.

"Yes Alya," the girl asked, voice hollow.

"You stole Lila's designs," she accused absolutely fuming. Some winced at tge accusations. The same thought went through their minds.

'The queen does not steal, everything she owns is original'

One or two shivered when they thought back to what had happened to the last person who had accused tge girl of thievery. It was practically treason. She hated liars and frauds.

"Why would I steal designs, am I not talented enough"

Chloe almost smirked at the clear trap. You never doubt the queens talent. This was it. This was the day she was waiting for.

"Talent," the brunette sneered falling right into the trap. Chloe let out a sigh at how predictable she was. "Lila has more talent in her pinky than you do in your whole body, that's probably why you stole her work isn't it"

Some of the class visibly paled. Chloe of course decided to add fuel to the fire. Hopefully she still meant something to the girl.

Remember rule number two. Never mess with the queens friends and family. They are her court, they mean everything to her.

"I would stop right there if I were you Cesaire," the blonde said filling her nails and hoping that her faith in their relationship was not misheald.

"Then it's a good thing I'm not you, you blue eyed, blonde bimbo," she said ripping the sketchbook in two. "Take this as my reservation letter as your best friend, you are nothing to both me and anyone who matters"

SNAP. The pencil split in too as tge bluenette growled. Some would say she was mad about her sketchbook but those who knew felt the impending storm.

The class couldn't find it in themselves to say anything. Sure Marinette had been rude to Lila but nob of them wanted to get on her vad side. Marinette saw their silence as their agreement to what Alya had said, the ties had been cut.

Lila was standing in front of the ckass, near the door, clearly fake crying and spewing some trash about some trash. Though the crying was besides the point. The tension in the room was.

Chloe could not be happier. She had not ruined their friendship with her schemes and everything was working out exactly as she wanted it to. The domino's effect was in progress. Almost all the top five rules had been broken.

Five: Don't doubt the queens talent.

Four: The queen does not steal.

Three: The sketchbook is off limits.

Two: Friends and family are off limits.

Chloe watched with unfiltered glee as it all unfolded in front of her. The only thing that was missing was...

Remember dear subjects never to break the first rule. Never touch the king, or any of the queens romantic interests. She is possessive and you do not want to anger the beast.

Luka choose that moment to walk into the class, unknowingly cutting through the tension.

"Hey Marinette you forg..." he stopped in the middle of his sentence taking in the scene. Luka was not an idiot. "I'm disturbing something aren't I"

"It's Marinette, she's being mean to me," Lila wailed throwing her arms at the unsuspecting subject. Luka's eyes widened as he tried to detach the girl from him without hurting her.

Oh snap. Chloe let out a small giggle as rose fainted at the sight.

"Lila hands off my brother," Juleka said. She was panicking. She knew what this all meant. She wasn't stupid enough to believe the liar, though she wasn't brave enough to stand up to her either. Though this was where she drew the line.

"Now everyone calm down," Adrien said ever the peace maker. "Now Marinette apologize and I'm sure - bang"

The sound of the bluenette banging the table silenced the chaotic class. No one had expected it. Chloe sat back smirking, Nino visibly gulped when he saw her smirk.

"Apologies," she whispered with a small unnerving chuckle. "Apologies for what when these two have clearly broken the top five rules in the book"

The class was silent. Marinette slowly made her way down from the back, her heels echoed with each step. She stopped by Chloes desk slamming something in front of her.

"You want a villain, you got one and honey hawkmoth ain't got a thing on me."

She walked towards the door, grabbing the girl and yanking her away from Luka harshly, causing her to stumble almost falling flat on her face.

"Hands off," she said as she stared at the boy for a good ten seconds before walking out of the door. Luka couldn't help but be flustered at the attention. He stared at his sister questiongly.

'later' she mouthed earning a nod from the boy.

"Marinette wait," he said ultimately decided to run after the girl of his dreams. She looked upset and nothing worried him more than that.

"Settle down everyone," Miss Bustier said as she walked into the class clearly not seeing the fear, confusion and chaos within her students.

Chloe took the opportunity to unfold the note that had been put on her desk.

So, a lot of my all time faves are ones that I read like 6 years ago, and it's been so long since I've read them that I think I've forgotten what most of them are 😂

Most of them are also fandom classics by writers that everyone knows, so the few answers I can remember are going to be very boring haha

But a big favourite of mine which is lesser known is:

This Was How Legends Were Made by Delta_Immortal

Caught between the Hales and the Argents in their war, Stiles finds himself a slave of the great Hale pack. Stiles spends each day working hard, hoping to earn his freedom and see his sick father. It also seems each day he’s capturing more and more attention from Derek, the young Hale lord. Stiles tells himself it’s mostly because Derek is merely trying to figure out how to send the annoying, useless slave away- not because of affection, despite the tales coming from the rumor mill.

It doesn’t matter what Derek's intentions are. Stiles can’t bother with love right now. He's got to keep his head down and survive long enough to keep his promise to Kate Argent. After all, she's promised to keep his father safe.

I think this fic features one of the most jaw-dropping scenes I've read in any Sterek fic ever, and it's even just given me chills to think about a specific line from it. It's the sort of scene where it really made me wonder if Stiles and Derek could even come back from it, but the writer handled it delicately and realistically instead of going for a cheap resolution which I really love. I've gone back to this fic quite a few times.

Another fic I love which is lesser known that I’ve been banging on a lot about over the past year is:

Set in Stone by orphan_account

When Talia is born on January 11, 1959, no one knows about time travel. Eight years later, Talia hears whispers of wolves who get unstuck from time from the alphas who visit her family. This is why, when it happens to Derek, Peter, and Cora, she is ready.

A Time Traveler's Wife AU.

I think about this fic a hell of a lot. I think my favourite thing about it is the kind of genius way that it makes Cora’s absolutely bonkers miraculous survival of the Hale fire in canon actually make sense.

We all love Derek and hurt over the shitshow that is his life, but this fic turns it all into a knife to stab you right in the heart in a way I’ve never had another fic do, before or since. I had to put my phone down at one point to actually sob into a tissue, and I’ve never had any other piece of written media make me cry like that.

What hurts my heart too is that, from what I’ve gleaned from the author’s note, they had it posted to ao3 for a couple of years, chose to delete it, then reuploaded it 4 years later, only to orphan it after just a few months. I just hate to wonder about the author’s reasoning for it, like if they lacked confidence in what they’d written or something? Because this fic is incredible and I’m absolutely gutted that I’ll never know who the author is so I can’t check out any more of their works.

As for some others, I adore Sugar and Spice and I get filthy when that liquor get into me by standinginanicedress (both deleted now, but many copies are floating around the internet easily found) and I don’t think they need an explanation as to why I love them considering the author haha

There's something weird about Beacon Hills that Stiles can't quite put his finger on. The way everyone in town knows his name the day he arrives. The way they insist the melancholic howling that echoes through the forest every night is just a dog. The way his dad denies getting a dog, even though Stiles comes home to find one sprawled across his bed, some big black thing whose eyes gleam red in the right light. The way that massive oak tree out in the woods vibrates under his touch, pulsing with sickly life.

There's something weird going on in this town, and Stiles is determined to get to the bottom of it.

And I think that’s a problem that I have with a lot of fics which probably came under the ‘favourites’ umbrella. There are so many fics I loved that are fandom classics and on every rec list and I recognise all the titles, but it’s been so long since I’ve read them that I don’t remember the details of them. (Honestly though, that’s a pretty great problem to have. The Sterek fandom is blessed ✨)

I will leave you though with one of my favourite fics from last year which was:

The Misguided Believer by Kaye_Fraser

It isn’t easy for a human to make it in a wolf's world, especially not for a human trying to earn an unconventional living as a private investigator like Stiles. Sure, the Human Rights Act had been passed twenty years ago, but that didn't lessen the discrimination that still existed against humans. Stiles is determined though. In an effort to pay rent, he takes on a human murder case that has been buried by the werewolf authorities, only to find himself on the trail of a potential serial killer. Unfortunately, to get anything done around town, he needs the help of one stupidly grumpy wolf by the name of Derek Hale. Granted, meeting the wolf over a dead body hadn’t made the best of first impressions, but Stiles is going to solve his first case and make a name for himself, and if that means winning over Derek to his cause by being his most charming self, then so be it!

I love the setting of this fic and all of the incredible worldbuilding, and I still have my fingers crossed for a part 2. I remember I put off reading the final chapter for like a week because I just didn’t want it to end. It’s criminally under-read, so people should go and give it some more love!

And that’s all I have! I really feel like there’s a glaringly obvious fic that I’m forgetting about which I’ll probably remember as soon as I hit post, but you can have these for now haha
