Damon was kicked back in the middle of the bookstore. The stupid little puppy of a kid (whom he wasn’t above kicking, by the way) had been by twice to scoff and tell Damon without words how annoying his presence was — which meant he was now here an hour past when he’d planned on leaving. He had some crap to look up in books that were too current for the library and too uninteresting to actually purchase. Google was woefully short on small business tax information and the last thing he needed was to start this thing, get accused of tax evasion, and have two legal proceedings to deal with before he turned twenty-one.
He didn’t know what turning twenty-one had to do with anything anyway. The only cool thing that happened then was you could drink legally, but he hadn’t been carded in so long it really didn’t matter at this point.
There were footsteps and he couldn’t be bothered to decipher who they belonged to before he spoke. It was probably the employee and he was sick of looking at that kid.
"What did I tell you about the next time I saw you? I’m pretty sure it was a promise to turn this book into a Frisbee aimed at your he—-" he stopped talking as he looked up. Totally not the bookstore kid. ”Oh. Hey. Do you need this book?”
Any other day, on any other occasion, Ruby would not have been in the library. In fact, on normal days, she would typically stray as far away from library's as possible, given her distaste for reading and all things books. What could she say? She was just more of a movie girl. But today was an exception--she needed some old book for an English paper that was due yesterday and she had work tonight, so she had to be quick. She was tired, though, having searched a bookcase for a book she was ninety-nine percent sure wasn't there--she wasn't even sure what book she had to take out. It was exhausting, being a high school student and part-time exotic dancer, so sue her if she wanted to take a seat. Which she did, with a familiar face.
The fact was of a twenty-something year old that came to the club and on more than one occasion, got so drunk that he paid for Ruby's time to listen to his drunken stories and not even dance. Damon, was his name, or something like that, and he paid pretty well; even tipped. However, she was pretty sure he wouldn't really remember her as well as she did him.
Slumping in her seat, her eyes met up with his before dropping to eye the book he spoke of, "Oh, is that for that potential investment you brought up the other night?" It'd probably fuck with him a little, her bringing up something he wouldn't remember telling her, but all in good humor, right?
Why are pirates called pirates? —Because they arrrrr.
No you’re right, that one was lame. But this one’s hilarious: what do you call sad coffee? —Despresso.
I don't know what's worse, you being so proud of that joke, or me actually laughing at it.
To take in a view like the New York harbor after a storm, well.. it deserved a lot of time and relaxation. Time, to be lost in your thoughts. Time, to appreciate the beauty of man made textures against the al naturale. At least, that’s how it was for Piper Laine.. who found herself sitting on the wharf, utterly tempted to whip out her camera and commit to being a tourist for the afternoon. That was, until she spotted someone walking towards her in the corner of her eye. Smiling softly, a “Hey.” escaped her lips before she could make sense of who it was.
Ruby just needed a break. The sixteen year old was breathless when she finally made her way toward the pier, leaning her arms against the cool metal railing. Thank God for the extremely skinny jeans she was wearing today, because if she could get that leg over that railing, best believe she'd be floating around in the harbor. Everything she worked for could potentially go to shit with so much as a blogpost, and there was nothing she could do about it. God, it sickened Ruby just thinking about it, and resting her head against her arm, she let out a sigh. And then someone spoke. Glancing over her shoulder to spot the source of the soft greeting, Ruby's eyes narrowed; she had no idea who it was. "Hi." she said, her tone harsh as she turned to watch the water.
He’d left the townhouse as bare as he’d found it when he came home, not that he much choice in the matter. The key weighing heavy in his pocket, Nate had made it most of the way to brunch with Tripp before catching sight of a familiar face, in a less than desired way. In true Golden Boy fashion, he beelined for the situation at hand, planning entirely to provide any moral support one would need after making a face plant like that.
"Wow.. That was.. wow. Are you okay?" He held out his hand, offering a way out of the embarrassing scene lay out before him.
It was of kind of a fucked up intervention, (like pretty much every other intervention ever.) Though she practically gagged at the thought of it, Ruby had come to the realization in so much as five seconds, that she was one of those girls that's completely absorbed in her phone. How had she come to the realization, one would ask? Well, it's not everyday that she bumps into the clear glass door of her favorite cafe because she's sucked into her phone, but today seemed to be that day. And the worst part? She was on Gossip Girl. Ugh, just the thought sent shivers down her spine.
"'Wow' is an accurate summary of that, yeah." Gripping his hand, she picked herself up from the sidewalk, brushing off her pants as she did so. Tucking her phone away in her back pocket, she finally took a good look at her 'savior' of sorts, rather surprised as to who it was, but she hid the shock from playing on her features. "So don't sugarcoat it, how bad did that look?"

Who cooks normally?:
Neither of them can cook, so neither of them try. They either go out for dinner or put their personal chefs to use—takeout is beneath Blair.
How often do they fight?:
The thing with them is that they’ll have unspoken issues that just go away with time. So they don’t really fight, they’ll just have problems that the other won’t know about, but it goes away with time.
What do they do when they’re away from each other?:
Text, call occasionally, nothing crazy. If one is gone for a longer period of time, they’ll call each other multiple times because Nate’s voice soothes Blair and he just loves to hear her voice. And it’s always a score when they call at night and they get a little freaky—but no one knows about that.
Who steals the covers at night?:
She does, but Nate doesn’t mind; he’ll just curl closer to her.
Who remembers things?:
Blair remembers everything important, dates, appointments, details, everything. Nate remembers little, cute things that Blair doesn’t usually have time to remember.
Who cusses more?:
Well, neither of them curse, really, but Nate does more. Blair finds cursing to be below her and Nate only does it when he really needs to.
Who takes longer showers?:
Blair takes long bubble baths with bath bombs and everything done to the max every night. Nate takes quick showers, unless he needs to think, or if Blair’s with him.
What’s their favorite place to go together?:
They love to walk through the park, especially during the cooler months—watching the leaves change color, the snow sprinkle down, hot chocolate, everything.
Who’s more likely to burn dinner?:
Probably both of them since they’ve never touched their stoves in their lives.
Who falls asleep on the couch?:
Nate does, frequently actually, because he loves to catch the old late-night cartoons that come on and he’ll fall asleep watching them. Blair will watch them with him sometimes, because they grew up watching them together and it’s nice to cuddle with her boyfriend, and other times, she’ll fall asleep watching some Audrey.
Who sings in the shower?:
They both do, actually, and they both tease each other about it.
Who plans date night?:
Blair does, usually, and when Nate does, they’re a surprise. Blair will plan dinners, get-togethers, parties, whatever, and Nate will plan impromptu picnics or walks, etc.
Who wakes up first?:
Blair—she has things to do, people to see, shit to get done. Nate will gladly sleep in, unless she or someone else drags him out of bed.
Who drinks all of the coffee?:
They go out and buy coffee, so no one drinks all of it—they know to have their own before all Hell breaks loose.
Who starts getting into holidays way before they should?:
Blair, definitely. Nate pushes off holidays as long as he can, because holidays = family and that’s not something he looks forward to, but Blair adores the holidays, and he adores her. Especially when she wears her cute little holiday outfits.
Who initiates the couple selfies?:
They both like taking couple selfies, actually.
Who forgets the birthdays and anniversaries?:
Blair always remembers them, unless she’s too busy and has things on her mind. Nate remembers them, but he doesn’t make a big deal out of them.
ERIC AND RUBY??? O_O
Who cooks normally?:
Typically, they order takeout—pizza boxes and bags of Chinese fill their garbage. There will be certain occasions where they will try to cook and sometimes it’s… Manageable, other times, they just give up and whip out the takeout numbers. And of course, there are times where they just eat out(especially Eric ;D).
How often do they fight?:
See, here’s the thing, Ruby’s generally indifferent unless something’s seriously wrong and Eric’s just generally an easy-going person, so they don’t fight very often. They’re just chill peeps.
What do they do when they’re away from each other?:
Endless. Amounts. Of. Snapchats. Videos, pictures, drawings, whatever. Whether they just be random, cute and romantic, or of them going through their daily activities, they’ll just keep each other snapchat each other all day. It’s kind of ridiculous.
Who steals the covers at night?:
Fucking Eric steals them. It’s gotten to that point where Ruby keeps a small throw nearby so if she wakes up in the middle of the night without covers, she’ll grab her secret stash of blankets.
Who remembers things?:
Eric remembers things that have absolutely no significance to them, like that really great pizza they had two weeks ago that they should get again, or how he kicked her ass on Rainbow Road in Mario Kart that one time. Ruby remembers more important things because she knows that Eric won’t be any help when they finally need to know that specific thing.
Who cusses more?:
Ruby. This isn’t even a question.
Who takes longer showers?:
Eric, and it’s annoying when they have appointments, but he provides entertainment (top notch screeching that he calls singing) that she gladly posts on Snapchat for the world to hear.
What’s their favorite place to go together?:
This one little hidden coffee shop in Brooklyn that Ruby showed him one day. They get coffee there every Sunday morning to drink with their breakfast. And every other day just because.
Who’s more likely to burn dinner?:
Eric. And he’ll try to hide it as if it’s supposed to look like that.
Who falls asleep on the couch?:
A lot of the time, they fall asleep on the couch together either a) because Eric will fall asleep watching something and she’ll think he looks super adorable and she’ll cuddle and fall asleep with him, b) because Ruby will fall asleep doing homework or something and he’ll be too lazy to wake her up or carry her to bed so he’ll sleep next to her, or c) because they were watching too much HBOGO or NetFlix.
Who sings in the shower?:
They both do, but while Eric’s proud, Ruby denies, denies, denies.
Who plans date night?:
Eric because he comes up with crazy fun ideas, unless Ruby wants to surprise him.
Who wakes up first?:
They both sleep in, but if it’s important, they both know how to get up.
Who drinks all of the coffee?:
Whoever gets to it first. It’s like the Hunger Games in this bitch for coffee.
Who starts getting into holidays way before they should?:
Ruby gets pissed off by the holidays because it’s blown up way more than it should be, so Eric. And he knows that she doesn’t care for the holidays, so he’ll walk around in his elf ears and his reindeer shirts, he’ll carve the jack-o-lanterns way too early, and make Thanksgiving plans two weeks before.
Who initiates the couple selfies?:
Ruby doesn’t usually cooperate with selfies the way he wants, and knowing this, Eric takes them all. The. Time. He finds it hilarious that he’ll try to take an actual cute picture and kiss her cheek and she’ll give a death-stare to the camera, or whatever. But there are times, usually when she’s bribed, that she’ll actually cooperate and there are also times where Ruby’s in the mood and Eric’s always up for it.
Who forgets the birthdays and anniversaries?:
Usually Eric, but Ruby doesn’t mind because she doesn’t like making a big deal out of them anyway (unless it’s Eric’s birthday, but of course, he doesn’t forget his own birthday).
Bamon
Who cooks normally?:
Damon cooks her breakfast, usually pancakes because she hates them. But he actually does cook her other things whenever he’s feeling it—pasta, pizza, whatever. He likes to incorporate his Italian background and Bonnie appreciates it. Sometimes she likes to cook and incorporate her grandmother’s recipes of cornbread and collard greens, but she’s never satisfied with the results so she mostly lets Damon do the cooking.
How often do they fight?:
Snarky comments and bickering back and forth are common for them, but they don’t consider those real fight; it’s just their twisted form of foreplay. As for real fights, they do have them semi-frequently, usually because he’s being an ass or she’s being too defiant and it messes with his patience. In the end, they have great make-up sex and it all works out.
What do they do when they’re away from each other?:
They’re both annoying and don’t like to look too needy, so instead of sending excessive amounts of texts or calling too much or anything, they both (though they don’t know the other does it) lay in the other’s bed and just inhale their scent. It gives each other their fill of that other person without having to bother them—easy peasy.
Who steals the covers at night?:
She does and he since he’s not a dick, he won’t snatch the blanket back, but he’ll gladly pull her close to keep himself warm.
Who remembers things?:
She does, she remembers everything, and so does Damon, but he won’t say anything unless it’s important.
Who cusses more?:
Damon does, unless Bonnie’s mad.
Who takes longer showers?:
Damon. Bonnie doesn’t waste her time taking showers; she gets her shit done and spends more time getting ready, but Damon could stay in the shower and let the hot water beat against his back for forever.
What’s their favorite place to go together?:
Aside from the bedroom? The shower. If not the shower, the kitchen. They both get tired of the the same routines, but they never get tired of South Street Seaport and seeing the Brooklyn skyline.
Who’s more likely to burn dinner?:
Neither of them, actually. They’re both pretty okay cooks.
Who falls asleep on the couch?:
Bonnie falls asleep reading all the time, and if he’s not feeling to lazy, Damon’ll carry her to bed. If not, he’ll lay with her.
Who sings in the shower?:
Bonnie. Always. Damon thinks a lot while he’s in the shower, but occasionally, you’ll catch him singing a tune.
Who plans date night?:
She does, and she goes all out, especially when he tells her not to.
Who wakes up first?:
Damon. He’s got to make those pancakes she loves oh-so-much.
Who drinks all of the coffee?:
Bonnie’s more of a tea person.
Who starts getting into holidays way before they should?:
Bonnie.
Who initiates the couple selfies?:
Bonnie, and it annoys Damon half the time. The other half, he cooperates for her. And because he knows he looks good.
Who forgets the birthdays and anniversaries?:
Neither of them do, actually.
Liam and Ruby <3
Who cooks normally?:
They’re usually into just finding new, lowkey restaurants and trying new takeout places, but there are times where Liam wants to make things special and cooks for her and then there are times where Ruby comes in while he’s cooking and fucks it all up and it turns into a food fight.
How often do they fight?:
Rarely. It’s mostly play fights about how one of them cheated during a video game or what to watch on NetFlix.
What do they do when they’re away from each other?:
Usually, they just send each other a whole bunch of voice-memos in funny accents and voices. And to bother him, they’ll send each other pictures of them fucking with each other’s stuff; she’ll take a picture of her playing his World of Warcraft and fucking his shit up and he’ll take a picture of him messing up her usually very neat room.
Who steals the covers at night?:
She does. She’ll steal all of them and just be wrapped up in a burrito while Liam freezes, but he doesn’t mind, he’ll just cuddle with her and gently unravel the blanket/sheet tortilla.
Who remembers things?:
Liam remembers everything, stupid or important. He’ll bring up random facts he’s learned over the course of his life during conversations but he also remembers things that she’ll tell him that might actually be important.
Who cusses more?:
Ruby, of course.
Who takes longer showers?:
Liam. He listens to most of the Star Wars film score in the shower and pretend that his shampoo bottle is his light saber.
What’s their favorite place to go together?:
They actually like to stay at each others’ houses and hang out at home. They actually build forts and watch movies on his or her laptop, so that’s probably their favorite place.
Who’s more likely to burn dinner?:
Ruby, or Liam if Ruby’s distracting her.
Who falls asleep on the couch?:
He’ll fall asleep playing video games all the time. It’s annoying, but who could get mad at Liam? He’s like a puppy.
Who sings in the shower?:
Liam does mostly, but on the rare occasion that Ruby does sing, he’ll take video to have proof.
Who plans date night?:
He does. Always, but it’s usually fun so she can’t complain.
Who wakes up first?:
They both sleep in late, due to his excessive gaming and/or NetFlix marathon.
Who drinks all of the coffee?:
Whoever gets to it first.
Who starts getting into holidays way before they should?:
Liam does. He’ll blast holiday music knowing that Ruby hates it.
Who initiates the couple selfies?:
It really depends. Sometimes they’re both totally against pictures, other times they’re all for them. Most of the time, one person wants to take pictures while the other doesn’t and the picture will reflect that. But those are the best ones.
Who forgets the birthdays and anniversaries?:
Liam, because he’s too busy in gaming-land.
