I don't know where to put this in my analysis because I don't even know what to make of this, but. What do you mean that in the show they're shooting, Ori's character tries to kill the character played by his dad, while saying that his (the character's) father is dead. What does that mean.

Suo and Nirei aside, out of all the vice-captains of Bofurin, the pair that intrigues me the most is the Sakaki twins Seiryu and Uryu. I wonder if we'd ever get more backstory for these two and how they came to be chosen/volunteer as Tsubaki's secondaries. Twins tend to bring up themes relating to asserting one's own individuality while embracing being one-half of a pair, and I think they match so well with Tsubaki and his backstory of self-discovery and learning to be comfortable in his own skin.

Tsuge asking Rakta and Bacchus about their aesthetic in front of Suolingo feels very canon to me, and I really want it to happen.

Quite the opposite. Sakura has made tremendous progress. He openly admitted that he's afraid of something. And that something is the possibility that it was all a lie and that he and Suo were never friends.

It makes sense that Suo said goodbye to Nirei and not Sakura. That Hayato didn't say those cruel words, "We aren't anything," to Haruka's face, because that would have been the end. for him.

Sakura is already terribly depressed, but that would have completely destroyed him.

The sacrificed and cursed

Based off an ask I received about these two meeting, I couldn't stop thinking about it, so wanted to draw this out! Enjoy!

You know, I'd love for Suo's master to be a good person, but giving Suo's whole thing I'm leaning morally-grey. However, that's not really what I wanted to bring up, what I wanted to say is that I genuinely believe that Suo's master has already passed or otherwise completely left his life, because if he was still in the Dojo, still in Bankoku-Gai, then why does Suo have a legitimate "dead wife flashback" of him during the Noroshi fight, this is the type of flashback one has when they haven't seen a person in a long while, but of Suo is just going back and forth he would see his master every single day...

Like, this is how you remember someone who's been gone for a while now

Just look at the dead wife flashbacks for Suo this arc cause they haven't seen him in over a month, two seconds away from being the same, except Suo's memory of his master looks way more faded when compared to Sakura's memory

That's it, that's what I wanted to say, that I genuinely would like his master to be alive and a good person but I think we might have to settle for morally grey and dead/gone

I feel like I owe the Shishitoren arc an apology for my first impressions of S1 being a little underwhelming (was an anime-only then and went in blind, and was surprised they only covered one rival team for an entire season). Now that we're knee deep in Suo's arc, it suddenly feels like everything in the first arc is a blueprint for what's to come and will circle back to the very beginning when Sakura was still finding himself and searching for connection (and after Suo broke his trust, it did feel like Sakura's progress had indeed been forcefully reset and he's knocked back to square one again).

Characters failing to face each other properly, even throwaway lines from the rival gang made me give pause; like how Shishitorien's "forsaken justice" in its pursuit and worship of power (So if my hunch that Red Chanpuru "champions justice", what is it they have forsaken?) And Suo being paired up to fight a "grown-up" pretending to be a child when he is a child pretending to be a grown-up, and what could this say about his empathy... or lack of?

But most importantly, I'm reminded that Sakura did already see right through Suo from the very start.

At this point, S1 is not just a required rewatch; it feels like I am finally watching it properly and there's a lot more to think about now.

It's funny how Class 1-1 is now playing the role of KEEL - the rowdy punks looking for a team member on someone else's turf.

To the RC Sakura might as well be the Spaltips leader right now. It's a funny role reversal. And it makes me wonder if Suo told RC anything at all about what happened at Furin. Rakta doesn't even know what Sakura looks like, who's quite easy to recognize. I think this kinda kills the Spy Theory once and for all.

This page (especially the panel of the clouds shrouding the moon) reminds me of the Japanese proverb 月に叢雲花に風 (Clouds over moon; wind over flowers). It means that even beautiful and precious things can be hindered and do not last very long—much like how winds disperse flower petals, and how clouds can hide even the brightest moon. Knowing the aftermath of Chapter 208 and this being the last time we see Suo in a Furin uniform… yeah. But even if clouds hinder his vision, Suo thinks the moon is beautiful. He still wants to be a part of Furin, but due to his obligations he can only observe it from a distance.
