Listen, I know he’s an interesting character study into the mindset of an upper-middle-class man in England in the 19th century, and he is actually quite a good portrayal of how even those who considered themselves generous and forgiving could still be complete and utter hypocrites because of their ingrained beliefs which lay unexamined, and as such he is really an excellent character, but my god do I hate Angel Clare
