Here I’ll be posting progress (concept arts, demo animations, arts, lore, stuff about project in general) of what I’m making

I haven’t found people who would be truly interested in it, I hope that tumblr will be a better place to share it with other people

I basically remake redesign and rewrite all more important characters and make whole new plot so it could be said that it’s a whole new thing - even these who never read Journey to the West or don’t know about Wukong can enjoy and feel appreciated and welcome here

Well if my whole work will be noticed by more ppl then maybe I’ll make it an actual thing in the future

JTTW —> GO WEST alt designs

Hello these are very first designs of the main 4 in my interpretation. Every of them is from different culture (flags ain’t here to represent nation or country just origin culture) most of them received new name and new backstory (and design ofc) to make them more interesting as character and represent different personalities and aspects of life

(If you are native speaker od any of these cultures pls correct me if I got anything wrong thank you 🙏)

Sha Wujing to Danddaata redesign - these are only rly early concept of his design (his appearance is partly based on mythological Genderuwo (a spirit of forest on Java)) His name is literally translated as “The Punisher” in in Hindi (my friend from India helped me with this one and I trust him, if you speak in Hindi and you think that this translation is wrong then feel free to inform me) - more of his lore and how he got Sanskrit name in next posts 🔥

Here’s my redesign of Tang Sanzang (tripitaka) to brand new Thắng (he is from Vietnamese region of the world - his name means “the victorious one” and it’s similar to the og “Tang” so I think it’s based) and the third one is some older version of him from 2024

For now I’m just throwing out there the latest version of his current design (kinda like a sample they give you at the ice cream shop lol)
