Don't be fooled by bullshit like Turbotax. If you make less than $89,000 a year (I'd say confidently that's 99% of Tumblr), you are entitled to use the IRS free file tool for your taxes. This page from the IRS lists all the software providers they have partnered with to provide this service. I have only used one on the list, but it was as good as or maybe better than Turbotax, and I repeat, free for the federal tax return. You MIGHT still have to pay a fee to file a state tax return, but it should be nominal. If you don't want to do it online, you can also go to the IRS to print out the forms directly and turn them in.
DO NOT let Turbotax trick you out of money. Drop them like a hot potato. This is a "fuck Turbotax" account.

Extremely suicidal to the point of I have refined my note five times in the last week and am actively daydreaming about how I could do it. I’m seriously just a waste of space, people offline and online make me jealous with their purpose their rich inner lives and dreams while I struggle to find the will to get out bed. I’m a ball of anxiety and irritation with my family as they tell me I don’t have it that bad and question me about my career plans and how I could just go back to school even though I have no money no support and am entirely way too stupid to pass most math classes. On top of this I’m broke and being treated like a live in nanny house keeper by my sister despite my protest about not having the mental patience rn to watch my nephews all the time. But if I say anything I’ll lose a roof over my head. I could stay with my Gm but she has dementia and unfortunately is very also annoying and panics because she forgets things and makes me scared and anxious about stuff that turns out to be fine. My mom is on drugs and hardly ever there and when she is doesn’t give me the time of day. The house constantly smells like feces and urine from animals and god knows what else. And I’m away from my partner trying to find a job to fly back to dc but I fucking can’t cause I’m poor as shit and Venmo just robbed me of the only 30 bucks I had cause I forgot to lock my card and something else I owed took the money :)

I haven’t been on this app in a while, but I know a Black man, Keith Porter, was murdered by ICE on New Year’s Eve (Rest in Power) in Cali. Just one of the countless Black people who’ve been murdered by ICE and other agents of the state.
I log back into this app and see the conversations around the white woman, Renee Good, who was just recently killed. And I can’t help but notice the stark difference in circulation of news and boosting of stories between both of them across this app…
Shit has BEEN happening to Black people across administrations and is currently happening to Black people under this administration, and is met by crickets. Yet when it starts touching white people, I see real anger start being felt from the gen pop followed by amplification and co-opting of Black terms and memorialization… I stg it takes everything in me to give af about yall.

Those who knew her remember Renée as compassionate, loving, and deeply creative. She cared fiercely for her children, her partners, and the people around her.
