Arcanus City - Central District

It had been mere moments since Líf had found himself standing before a mysterious tower… since someone approached him and handed him a bonsai, key, and… whatever in the hells that odd metal slate was.

If he were being honest, it all was quite confusing but he had not let that bonsai go ever since he got it. He was terrified to drop it to the point where he was now holding the pot the small tree rested in close to him with one hand while the other hand held the key he was given. Carefully turning it over, he found a number and two words emblazoned on said key.

201, Seaside Province. He didn’t know where that was… really, he didn’t know where anything was which was the reason why he had barely moved from the vicinity of the tower. He didn’t wish to get lost more than he already was however, after several moments, he caught sight of something moving past.

Curiosity taking hold, he started to wonder… who or what exactly had run past. This eventually led him to leave the tower, being careful to not drop the bonsai he was given. However, this move only ended up with him getting more lost than he already was in Arcanus City’s central district… As if the last rays of sunlight weren’t bad enough, now he had to deal with retracing his steps.

The last thing he wanted to do was make his situation even worse so with a sigh, he opted to remain where he was, now gripping onto the bonsai pot tightly…

⚔️ // it wasn't every day , but every so often , byleth found herself face - to - face with a newcomer . when the lights of the aurora faded and left behind SOMEONE NEW , it was all too easy to become disoriented . so byleth made time to visit . so it was that the street lamps overhead flickered on , and the streets of the central district began to empty . in the midst of the soon - to - be quiet , byleth spotted him . seeming just as out of sorts as she and so many others had felt on their first days .

"good evening," byleth said , stepping forward . she gestured at the little tree in the young man's hands . "i take it from your appearance that you're new here . if that's the case , i'd it would be my honor to welcome you ." hand to chest . byleth gave a short bow in greeting . "my name's byleth eisner . and you are ?"

”Líf… my name is Líf…”

That was all Líf was willing to say at this point in time. He seemed to be quite wary of Byleth, stepping back when she stepped forward and tightened his grip on the bonsai. He didn’t exactly know who she was but… despite being disoriented, he seemed reluctant to speak with people.

The reason for this was unknown, Líf himself not wishing to elaborate on why that was although he also seemed somewhat protective of the small tree he had with him. It was as if his life depended on keeping that one tree safe and yet, he decided not to run or hide.

Given he knew not of this place, it was wiser for him to stay put. However, he soon gave Byleth a slight bow in an effort to return the greeting, being careful not to drop the tree he had been desperately holding.
