|| HEYYYYY....so I'm not back on this account but I can be found at @audaciious . I have no idea how my activity will be but she is a semi-fandomless OC. Her main verse is in Clair Obscur but I'm currently working on adding my usual verses on her. I just wanted to let y'all know just in case anyone still wants to RP.
She's not as dumb as Faye, but she still has her moments and is similar in other ways. One day I may return to my idiot but as of right now I'm not.

|| So, after a lot of thinking I have decided to leave Tumblr, at least the RPC. Nothing has happened, and honestly, everyone I've interacted with this time around has been amazing. I just find it harder and harder to get on here despite being excited about the threads I have and had planned. As soon as I open the site I just kinda deflate for no particular reason and lose motivation to write. I've taken some time to try and take a "break" but my thoughts haven't changed.
If anyone wants to, I'll be happy to share my discord for chats and/or rping. I'll also still be on tumblr, hanging out on my artblog/general blog I recently made which you can find me at here: @daemads

Honestly, it spoke volumes of her character, how the anger seemed to simmer in his own chest as they shared it. He might have assumed it was just his, if not for the way her lips thinned and her hands clenched. But if she was angry at the thought of what they did....then likely her motivations didn't align with most other hunters. She clearly wanted to help. He'd already had an inkling that was the case, but this cinched it into place.
Artair loosed a small sigh. "We're on the same page. This case... whatever is doing this, the attacks are indiscriminate. Not that most hunters would care about the fact that a few non-humans are missing." Maybe that's part of it? He frowns. By the dates, whatever was doing this switched between targeting humans and the supernatural. Human, oni, human, encantado, human.... it's possible whatever it was knew that spacing out the deaths of humans would keep it from getting caught longer, since it frequented the same hunting ground for targets. It was something to consider, but pure conjecture until he found more evidence.
Still, believing the enemy to be clever enough to consider that wouldn't hurt his chances of figuring out what it was.
He taps his finger on the table, eyes distant with his frown. "I've dealt with a lot of things over the years, but nothing really matches the description so far. A vampire wouldn't eat this much on their own, even if they were feral enough to do the kind of damage these bodies saw. Even a coven of them wouldn't want to draw this much attention. And the attacks are getting more frequent." If it was vampires and they were leaving mostly bodies.... then they wouldn't need more blood.
"I could believe a cult ritual. It is strange to bring the bodies to the same place. That speaks to some kind of ritual, maybe. If it's something that drinks blood, it should be smart enough not to keep leaving bodies in the same place. Unless it's confident it won't ever get caught. Or that the area is far enough from wherever it dwells. But then again.... why bother with the same place unless there's a reason for it?" He waves a hand. "But.... I don't know. How effective the bloodletting was seems more like some kind of siphon would be needed. They don't have any injuries in the right area for that which are the right shape, by the reports. It seems almost... random? And the mutilation is too....I don't know. Brutal. At least if it's about the sacrifice itself. Don't get me wrong, they all are cruel, but there's.... you know. With most ritualistic stuff, there's a sense that anything they do to a body is deliberate. It's meticulous and ritualistic. It wouldn't be random like this. And there'd probably be some kind of pattern to the injuries. But there isn't."
He exhales with a hint of annoyance. ".....which means I haven't narrowed it down either. I don't know if it's something new, but it's either not something I've seen, or it's some new configuration. Maybe multiple creatures partnering up? There are a lot that do feed on blood I know of, but.... Mmm." He shakes his head. "I just haven't seen anything with this kind of methodology."
His eyes flick up to hers, especially as the feeling dwelled inside him like a corruptive source. "But. Sometimes the best way to figure out the truth is working together. You clearly care about things here. I know that coming up empty is frustrating.... but maybe we'll get somewhere we couldn't before if there's two of us trying to figure this out." He offers her a smile. "So... hello. My name is Artair. I'm happy to make your acquaintance."
Quietly, she listened. Her anger was something she needed to keep in check, especially in a place like this, surrounded by creatures that already disliked her. They weren't to blame and she understood their disdain for Hunters and the innocent lives they took almost daily. It didn't matter who was innocent or who wasn't. If it wasn't human then it was a "monster" that needed to be eradicated to protect the humans, even if those monsters did help humans as doctors, guards, and even grocers.
She believed they could co-exist. The countless creatures that glamoured themselves daily, living as a typical human was proof enough but the older generations of Hunters refused to see the truth. Sighing, she focused on Artair's words, nodding as her simmering anger sizzled out, her entire body relaxing.
"I agree. It makes it harder...because it has been alternatin'. And I think it's safe to assume with the increase of blood drainin' it's either growin', gettin' more of its kind, or gettin' close to some kind of ritual." It was difficult to decide which may be more alarming. There was no telling whether all the killing started here or if this was just the first location they found. The thought of it sent a shiver through her.
"It has to be somethin' new," she propped her head up on one hand and closed her eyes to think. "Or maybe this started somewhere else and we just happened to find this one first. Honestly, it's the mix of races being used that has me so stumped...and the mutilations. There's no rhyme or reason to it unless it's somethin' completely new."
Opening her eyes, she looked into his, noting he had heterochromia as well, though his were more unique. When he reached out his hand she took it, and offered a genuine smile in return. It was obvious, he was dedicated to figuring this out as well and she'd be crazy to decline the only help she was likely to get.
"Ya already saved my skin once as a stranger, so I think workin' as partners would be beneficial to us both. Likewise. I'm Faye," withdrawing her hand after the shake, she sat up straight. "I can't remember the last time I had a partner in somethin' but somethin' tells me that we're gonna need to have each other's back. This definitely doesn't seem like a solo kind of job. Got any clue where you'd like to start or do you want to set up a base somewhere and we can lie out everythin' we have there?"

"We try to stick to our bear forms. It's more about keeping nature... well.. nature out here. No 'human' interference sort of idea. It's not that they can't see us at all, but you get the idea...."
Rome sat into one of the wooden chairs, starting to take a few bites of his own. He'd already been hungry before the two had shown up, but he always tried to wait for his brother when he could. He couldn't help but smile at the compliment of his cooking.
"This land is more or less private property, we like to keep the regular human hunters out, conservation in a way. No overhunting at least... But you're more than welcome to roam and hunt here. At least it's safe here for the most part. It's certainly difficult for the other sort of hunters to find this place."
"If you don't mind company, I'd like to join you sometime," Faye said after swallowing her mouthful of food before packing her cheeks again. She felt like a ravenous animal and was certain she must have looked like one to Rome with how she devoured his meal.
It wasn't that she couldn't cook, she did cook and did it well, but what money she brought in typically went to trying to fix up her shack, bills, her car, and whatever was left went to food. Unfortunately, that didn't always mean she could afford a decent haul.
"Sounds like you guys are livin' the dream," she grinned, mildly envious. "If ya really don't mind I'll definitely take ya up on the offer. Can't get much fresher than huntin' for your own feed and it'll let me save up a bit so I ain't broke all the time." As her stomach filled she slowed on her eating.

Jesse unlocked the fourth floor utility closet and stepped inside. He reached back and locked the door without looking while he set his key ring on a shelf to the side. It wouldn't do for the distinctive jingle to give him away back here.
He took a breath, steadying himself, as he crossed to the back of the closet. The scent of chemicals blanketed him, comforting, but he hesitated as he hooked a finger in the hidden latch of the room's false back. Doubt clouded his mind.
Should he be here? This was so much more dangerous than watching the camera feeds from the safety of his office... Yet that danger was part of the allure.
The danger, and knowing that she was just there, only a few feet away...
He frowned as he fingered the latch. Every mistake he'd made ran through his mind. Every time he had slipped up and dropped a hint that he knew things he shouldn't, every social misstep...
His hand withdrew from the door as he remembered the man Faye had abducted. He could remember the red flash of blood intimately, and the sound of impacts on flesh.
His stomach curled.
He turned away from the door, drawing his phone from his back pocket. His finger on the back of the phone unlocked it and he compulsively pulled up the feed to Faye's unit.
The feed from her bedroom loaded as he grabbed for his keys, but he never reached them. His feet stuttered to a stop as he saw her.
The first red flag should have been raised when he convinced her to rent one of the units at his apartment complex far below market value, the second when he insisted she take one on the fourth floor, and another at his eagerness to help her move in and set up her furniture. Suspicion had been overshadowed by genuine intrigue and relief she wasn't stuck in a shabby hotel room with unidentifiable stains on the worn-down couch and discolored carpet.
The first few months were quiet, the occasional bump or creak setting her on edge, but quickly dismissed after she reminded herself the apartment was old despite its newer renovations. However, sometimes it felt like the walls were breathing, sighing softly as they watched her go about her day. It was especially tense when she took a job for a private investigator who needed information from some rich prick but didn't want to get his hands dirty.
Even after drugging and blindfolding the man, she wondered if she shouldn't have taken him somewhere besides the bathroom of her apartment. Bad habits were hard to beat and it was the only place in the new city she felt mildly secure in. Thankfully, it only took a few hard hits and a bit of bloodletting to get the job done but she retrieved the required information, verified it, and ensured the whimpering man wouldn't say a word before drugging him once more and dropping him off at his home.
It was the palpable tension the next time she interacted with Jesse that she became paranoid; even more so when she realized in some of their past conversations he had mentioned something no one else could have possibly known. She waited a few days after the job to see if he'd report her to the authorities, but the police never came and the tension eventually dissipated. Not her suspicion of being watched though.
Needing to know the truth, she set up her own investigation of him. The locks to his office were easy to pick and inside she discovered the secret door that opened to a secret passage between several units on the fourth floor, including her own. Down the hall, she found all the peepholes that peered into her unit and the vent overlooking her bedroom.
Jesse chuckled, glancing down with a self-conscious smile as he noticed her staring at his chest. He hoped she liked what he saw,
"Faye," he repeated, savoring the taste of her name. He was reluctant to let go of her hand but, just as reluctant to scare or disgust her, he released her. "It's a delight, ma'am."
He hooked the heel of one boot on one of the stool's rungs, relaxing into the bar.
"I am, actually; born and raised, in fact. I take it you're new here?"
Hearing him say her name sent a shiver through her. Not only was he easy on the eyes but he had a voice that could melt glaciers. He must've been hiding in the shadows or had arrived after she sat down at the bar otherwise she might have approached him first.
"I am," Faye admitted, taking a sip of her drink. "I was convinced by a friend to move here. Same one that canceled on me tonight. Go figure, right?"
Placing her glass down with a soft clink, she uncrossed her legs, pinning them together so as not to accidentally flash him.
"We were supposed to go around town, meet some of her friends, and then go to dinner. I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go. You actually saved me from havin' to go back to my rundown hotel room."
The bar was alive with distractions. People danced, talked, and thronged throughout the establishment. Music pounded thrugh the sound system. Cologne, perfume, and body odor scented the air Jewelry flashed and shoes clicked and stomped.
Through it all, Jesse's attention kept lingering on her.
She had tan skin and long, luxurious, hair in red and black. A flashy red dress hugged tight to her curves, accentuating her full chest and incredible hips.
Beyond that, though... She had a quality that spoke to him. She gave all the signs of someone who had been stood up- the dejected body language, the way she checked her phone, the crowd...
It took him a bit to work up the courage to approach, but he couldn't leave her her hanging.
~~~
Jesse returned her smile with a sunny one of his own as he eased onto the stool beside her.
"Nah," he purred, waving down the bartender. "I respect a woman who likes her whiskey."
With her next drink sorted, Jesse turned to fully face her. One elbow rested, at ease, on the bartop, giving the slope of his shoulders a jaunty cant. His open leather jacket revealed a flannel shirt with the top few buttons undone. It afforded a glimpse of the curly hair on his chest and the old ink dotted across his body.
Long, lean leggs were clad in black jeans. He wore dark cowboy boots, complete with glittering spurs.
With a lopsided grin, he held out a hand heavy with rings.
"I'm Jesse," he offered.
He had a charming smile that could win hearts and a deep Texan accent that undoubtedly won countless hearts. Who didn't like a southern gentleman? The dark curls on his chest drew her attention but the faded hints of tattoos kept her eyes from returning to his for a few extra seconds. She found herself wondering how many and what kind he had.
"Pleasure to meet ya," she shook his hand. "I'm Faye." There was something magnetic about him; drawing her in like a moth to a flickering flame. Her interest piqued, she shifted again on the stool, mirroring his posture, her drinking momentarily forgotten.
"Don't suppose you're from around here?" Faye inquired. If her friend couldn't give her the tour of the city or, at least, some key points to look at then maybe Jesse would instead.
And even if he didn't, she wouldn't mind. As long as she didn't have to return to the hotel yet, she didn't care what they did.
"Really? You would share them with me?" Geo sounded genuinely surprised. He was not used to someone new being so open with him. It only made his smile widen. "I would be absolutely delighted to learn any recipes you are willing to share with me."
He stopped just outside the door to Faye's room. "This is your room just over here...." He opened the door for her to take a look inside.
"If you are hungry, I could perhaps provide a little room service while you settle in?" He didn't want to take up all of her time, but he wanted to make sure she had everything she needed.
"Perhaps I could try my hand at this curry you cannot seem to find a good version of? You name it and I shall make it."
"Of course! I don't have a family to have any family secret recipes meant to be hidden from outsiders. Can't say I've ever had anyone to really cook and swap recipes with so I'm more than happy to share," Faye nudged him lightly with her elbow before stopping in front of her room. It was more likely a gilded cage than a room where she would spend most of her days until they were free to go on a mission.
Out of politeness, she peeked her head in and looked around the room, nodding as if it were up to her standards. If it was up to her, she'd spend as little time as humanely possible in it.
"Room service? Oh no," she tossed her bag on the bed and strode back to him. "I would never expect anythin' like that. Why don't we go to the kitchen together and make it together? Or if you're determined to make it yourself then I'll just keep ya company."
@heirgrim said: "Can I buy you a drink, darlin'?"
The conversations around her dulled to a ceaseless drone, drowned out by frenzied drumming of the next song that came over the bar's speakers. Crossing her legs, she propped her head up with one hand and sighed, staring at the ring of water pooling around her empty glass. It wasn't the first time her friend had canceled plans last minute and while she typically wasn't bothered by a cancellation, this time was different. She was in a new city without a clue of where anything was and walking around aimlessly and alone in a short, tight-fitting red dress and heels wasn't appealing and neither was sitting around in her dingy hotel room.
She debated on another drink or leaving to find the closest restaurant before returning to her room when she heard the offer. Faye lifted her head from her hand, looking to see if it was directed at her. Her heart fluttered in her excitement at not having to leave quite yet.
"I'd never say no to a free drink," she smiled. "Whiskey, unless you think you're feelin' bold enough to order me somethin' else."
