I draw to hold onto moments that feel like they might slip away. Each sketch begins quietly—with a feeling, a memory, or a photograph that stops me just long enough to whisper “this means something.” I work only in pencil, favoring precision over smudge, and softness over spectacle. My approach is slow and intentional, building shadows with lines, not shortcuts. There's something sacred to me in the act of tracing silence through graphite. My inspiration often comes from photographs—images that stir something gentle or melancholic beneath the surface. Many of them feature K-pop artists, whose expressions hover between emotion and performance. But it’s not about who they are; it’s about the feeling that reaches through. A certain light in the eyes, a gesture paused in motion… that’s what I follow. Melancholy finds its way into my work often. Not out of sadness, but out of love for the quiet, unspoken parts of us all. This blog is a home for those pieces. Thank you for pausing here. – Rukke 🤍
