New LifeGen/ClanGen Story Idea
I want to really lean into the culty aspect of what a clan could be^^
I would like to make it as spiritual and divided and power hungry, but also really naive where cats don't even leave the territory to converse with other clans, therefore they don't have any idea what life is like outside of the clan whatsoever.
So here's what I've got so far
There are three roles in this clan and they are:
Leaders and Medicine Cats, as they have the most connection to the stars and the spiritual ways of the world.
They are the ones who are respected above the rest and are to be followed without question. They are sent on herb gathering patrols or, in the case of the Leader, you can go on border and hunting patrols if need be.
They have a surface level connection to the spiritual side of the world in some way. This is usually determined by personality or things you are interested in, such as Dark Forest or Starclan. They are sent on hunting patrols that always remain within clan borders, as well as helping to gather herbs with the Star-Touched.
They have no spiritual connection and are always very practical, usually sent on border patrols because they are usually the most well versed in fighting and defending. This is also determined by personality and skills that you develop as an apprentice.
Apprentices are not sorted into the groups until they are made warriors, and your mentor has nothing to do with what group you will get sorted into. You could be apprenticed under an Ascended and still end up a Grounded.
The only time cats from each of the three roles would interact in day to day activities is if they are training Apprentices and that will take most of their days anyway and not allow them to go on normal patrols most of the time.
You will only go on the designated boarder or hunting patrol when you get your full name and are sorted into your role and that's when your actual role training begins, keeping you learning and in the dark for an even longer period of time.
Therefore keeping you from asking questions until you are much older and by then you are usually stuck in whatever role you are in and think its too late to change or question anything and so the cycle repeats.
However having these different roles will always lead to some discourse and some cats thinking that they are better just because they have a certain role and abusing the power it give them
That's where things get interesting >:)
