she didn’t quite know what she was doing in this part of town, but something drew her here. after wandering around aimlessly for a few hours, weaving in and out of shops she’d finally had her fill of wandering,  the female had been doing this sort of thing for weeks now in the hopes of finding some sort of adventure, though she encountered more bad than good on her little escapades she couldn’t stop herself from going on them. as she slowly made her way back up the street she was drawn aback a bit by a voice. glancing over at the boy the voice belonged to she couldn’t help but notice the sweat on his temple, appearing as though he had previously been doing some sort of physical activity. she lazily reached a hand in her purse, pulling out several bills, she quietly counted the bills before giving him a quick once-over. ‘seems harmless’ she thought before handing him about twenty bucks, flashing him a small smile in the process. “here you go, that should be enough, right?”

he anticipates two dollars at most (a five dollar bill if he's lucky) so when the girl pulls out a twenty, he nearly chokes on air. you know how much shit you can buy with twenty dollars! he could buy himself an entire meal! of course, his expression is riddled with disbelief. brows raised & hidden behind long bangs, jaw slack & mouth slightly agape. a hesitant hand reaches out for the bill. she must be rich. with a face like that, maybe even a model. "really? isn't that too much? jeez, god bless 'yer soul." there's this subtle bow of his head that he does, and a teeny grin to decorate thin lips. he hardly considers himself religious, but today he thinks he's met an angel.

With his music purposefully blaring to block out all outside noise, Byunghun found himself lost in thought. he’s well aware of how libraries work. the usual no talking and mind ya business unspoken (ha) rules they’ve got going on...but he’s gonna be a pest anyway. he’s pulling up a chair next to this innocent young lass, finding a leverage for his dirty sneakers on the seat across from him. a look of mild interest (with a hint of mischief) takes over his face. he says, “whatchu’ readin’ there?” and signals towards the book in her hands with a head-nod thing.

only cecil would stay on the site of a photoshoot after making direct eye contact with one of the camera men several times. where is his humility??? he’s perched against this hunk of cement nearby—a pillar of sorts—looking all suave and shit. a young, asian, james dean. no. he really doesn’t look like that at all. though he’d have a grand ol’ time pretending so. listen. the boy hasn’t seen a shower in days,  he’s got hair consuming the lower half of his face in splotches (a pube ‘stache— he’s got a pube ‘stache), and his shoe laces are untied. he’s not fazed in the slightest, though. he’s just munching away at an apple. don’t mind him. this is fascinating. this luxury lifestyle. it’s like television. what a treat to witness!

“i’ll be back in a few—just needa’ walk a lil’ bit.” just give him a few moments because he feels as though his head’s gonna shatter into ten-thousand little fragments of...fucking...whatever!!! don’t know when the train’s leaving, but he’ll hear it and come running if need be. right now, what he really needs is to take a loooong drag of nature’s air. to calm down and remind himself that there’s no need to freak the fuck out. of course, he’s upset over a thing that really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things but. he’s a confusing little guy. ask anyone who’s been blessed with the opportunity to be in his presence.  he’s wandering off into trees and tall grasses, the friction of the ladder brushing against bare ankles making his skin bloom red. a little itchy. but not enough to coil over and scratch. he curves a palm over the trunk of an oak, running fingers over it’s ridges. he’s grounding himself to the earth. or some hippie shit like that. the temptation to pick some bark off is dwells within him. but he’ll be nice to mother nature today. what did it ever do to him?!!?! in his peripherals he thinks he sees the figure of a woman. but. he might be hallucinating. who knows what he’s on at this point.

our stray’s pressing two fingers to a bandage along the curve of his stubble-y jaw. he hasn’t shaven in a week...and the amount of hair he’s grown is really not impressive. if you look closely, past the pepper-y patchiness, you’ll see blood latching onto a few fibers of the bandage’s material and leaking through. a deep one, i reckon. it’ll be alright. leave it to cecil to get himself into some shit nearly every single day. still. it won’t be the last time he attempts to bargain with someone about drug money. he’s the type to hold onto a mere thread of chance. that’s our boy. there’s this grey figure advancing towards him and—the thing should really be in focus by now. he brings his lashes together. squinting a bunch. he refuses!!!! to get glasses. don’t mention it to him. it’s a little clearer now and there’s grocery bags hanging off this kid’s arms. little guy doesn’t look strong enough for it. all skin ‘n bones from over here. there’s this glint of amusement tickling away at our stray’s face. lips curve into a cheshire grin. that’s how we know he’s got an idea. i could damn well steal one of those bags and he wouldn’t do a thing about it, i bet. fix myself up a nice meal for the night. fruit? sure. a side of potato chips? why not. i’ll do it. a small thing, he is. i’ll go for his right hand. just watch— and now he’s close enough to realize that he knows this cat. his memory is jogged real quick. when you’re constantly on the run like this, the actual relationships you form with people are more than meaningful. sometimes they’ve saved your sorry ass from going hungry. from going insane. from getting killed. you hold onto people like that while you can. “—well fuck me!” his face has exploded into this massive smile. it’s as if he’s never been more delighted.
