Queen Rain Shine in my Exileverse MLP AU! Kirin are so cool…I based their appearance in my Exileverse AU more closely to those found in the Qing dynasty 🙂‍↕️

Queen Rain Shine is the Goddess of Justice and ruler of the easternmost land in Equestria, Xianxia (named after the Chinese fantasy genre). She is a passionate and benevolent leader with a fiery temper. As a result of Rain Shine’s leadership, Xianxia is deeply principled; respect for all living beings is the foundation of its culture, and justice is upheld for even the smallest insect. Magic, art, and nature are paramount in Xianxia, and many travel there to experience its wonders.

The alliance of Kirin and Dragons have caused a deep rift between Kirin and ponies; Queen Celestia and Queen Rain Shine’s fierce rivalry is known throughout the lands. Rain Shine sees her as a despot using laws to restrain her citizens from rising to power; Celestia sees her as a hotheaded hippie without control over her citizens.

I hope you like my interpretation of Rain Shine and the Kirin! :3

Star Catcher in my MLP Exileverse AU! I was quite surprised she never appeared in FiM because she’s so iconic to MLP…

Long ago, the world of Equestria was born of a wish.

In the swirling void of nothingness, a being wished itself into existence, and Star Catcher appeared. Realizing she was alone, Star Catcher wished for companionship. She wished, and then there was life. It was only a small seed, but it grew quickly, its roots forming the base of a planet. The seed sprouted many trees, and the trees produced beings as good and full of light as their creator.

The beings soon were many and there was not enough resources or space for them all, so they wished to their creator for help. Star Catcher answered each and every wish for each and every different creature. She created oceans, mountains, plains, and clouds. She created deities to guide them.

Her creations chopped down her trees to make their homes and warm themselves by their fires. With every generation and every felled tree, the light within them faded.

Still, her creations wished for more.

Star Catcher was a being of infinite goodness, but not infinite light, and granted their wishes. When they wished for more, she gave, and gave, and gave until she could give no more. Finally, she faded into legend, unable to grant anything but the most desperate of wishes.

With no Trees of Harmony and no wishes, where does that leave Equestria?

A sad little fairy tale for you all 🫶 that’s my explanation as to why everyone in Exileverse is mean and sad 🙂‍↕️

Remember "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" ? I feel like there's been a distancing from the "reduce" and "reuse" part and a favoritism towards "recycle" by corporate American.

Capitalism can still thrive with recycling in the mix. You buy Plastic Thing 1, throw it away after one use, and they take that and recycle it into Plastic Thing 2 and sell it back to you. All while continuing to harm the environment.

Reusing puts a damper on things. They can't sell you Plastic Thing 2 when you're still using Plastic Thing 1. Plastic forks, for example- there is literally no reason why you can't reuse plastic forks more than once (aside from maybe microplastics, but it's too late for that)

Reducing is the one everyone wants to ignore. Just don't buy Plastic Thing 1. You don't need Plastic Thing 1. Pick up a set of metal forks and use those for years. Convenience is killing the planet

the slogan is in that order for a reason! It is listed in order of effectiveness and impact; if you can't reduce, reuse. If you can't reuse, recycle.

Reduce what you can

Reuse everything still in working order

Recirculate what you don’t need by sharing or selling onward

Refurbish what’s fallen out of good condition so it lasts longer

Repair what’s broken altogether

Repurpose what can’t serve its original function

Recycle what is unsuitable for repurposing

What goes unsaid here is why they’re all “re-“ prefixed: it’s about circularity. Keeping the resources in use means that we don’t have to keep incurring the environmental costs of production over and over on infinite one-way trips of new stuff starting in the earth, through human society, and right back into the earth in landfill.

Asking out of curiosity, do you think you'll ever draw anyone else from TGCF in the MLP au? Such as Black Water, Quan Yizhen, etc

I absolutely love all your designs for them by the way, they're always so nice to look at!

OH yes!! I've read more of TGCF to know more characters that become relevant later in the series (Quan Yizhen, Yin Yu, Pei Ming, Ling Wen, etc) so I'm excited to pop back into my MLP AU for them! (that reminds me, I need to do more SVSSS MLP designs, too lol)

What pony type were the ghosts in your tgcf MLP au before becoming ghosts? Like with mu qing being a unicorn (I know he's a god, I'm just using him as a comparison because I'm guessing hua Cheng wasn't an alicorn pre calamity ). Additionally can other species like hippogriffs etc become gods and if so do they gain other features? May be overthinking this but I love your au and your designs!

Hua Cheng/Crimson Flower was a bat pony

He Xuan/Black Water was a hippogriff

Qi Rong/Ghost Lantern was a pegasus

White No-Face/Calamity Diamond was born an Alicorn like Xie Lian/Mercy's Sake ;)

Other non-equine species, like hippogriffs, do indeed have 'ascended' forms! Hippogriffs gain a horn in their land form/anglerfish-like 'lures' in their sea form; Kirin grow antlers, tusks, and long whiskers; changelings gain a large rhinoceros beetle-like horn and butterfly wings; and dragons grow tremendously in size and gain a second set of wings.

this post is about a lot of things. it's about my ex saying it was manipulative to talk to them in a cute voice because that influenced their emotions. it's also about someone on this webbed site saying being funny is "engagement farming". like yeah every single conversation you have is going to be "manipulative" if your standard for that is "did something with the goal of eliciting a response". if that bothers you go live in a hut in the forest and speak only to the trees. I'll be over here manipulating my friends into being happy by giving them compliments

Random late night thought: Every time I read "But asexuals CAN and DO have sex", I shrink a little bit. I understand it's a spectrum. But as someone who doesn't have sex and hasn't for fifteen years, it brings me back to the shame of feeling like a freak. I'm new to the community but I'm wondering if there's a better way to discuss the spectrum without making sex the "norm"?

things like this are difficult because it's always been cause and effect

people word that point so Strongly because there has been a history of people singling out people who have/had sex for any reason and trying to gatekeep them from the community. but then the effect has been an over-correction where this is sometimes, as you said, framed as a Norm that other people can come short of.

the best way to go about it in my opinion is to just emphasize labels as a spectrum that are deeply personal to the individual who uses them. "these are kinds of people who Can exist" rather than "this is how these people Do exist"
