The world is cursed, but you find reasons to keep living.

So much peace and calm from such tiny things. My mind has been a mess lately, so much shit is going on that I feel like I can't control or help or get a hold of. Looking after these guys is probably the one thing keeping me sane, giving me something to focus on. There's no therapy quite like two little Tasmanian devil joeys curled into your jacket 💜
The boy likes to sleep upside down and it's the cutest thing ever.
Guess who's raising devil joeys again this year

What sucks is that every day she lived I got more and more confidence in looking after her and thought of it more a possibility that she would make it. I knew that an orphaned animal that young could always take a turn for the worse in a matter of hours, so while I was mentally prepared for it, it was still really upsetting when I found her. My mate came over and we had a chat about it and he thinks her kidneys might have gone, she was drinking and toileting a lot more than usual in the hours before she died. While it sucks, I'm not letting it put me off trying it again if given the chance. It was still an experience just having the opportunity to look after a devil that young, even just seeing and working with one at that stage of development. All I can do is learn from it and work harder if I get that experience again.
I want my heart back I want to feel everything again.
