#does it count if it was watching the coverage of the 2022 Boston marathon after I ran it?#a combination of my own emotions from just having run it and that fantastic last mile in the women’s race.#also Kristi Yamaguchi winning the gold medal in 1992.#and cubs taking the World Series in 2016.

i feel like there is a sleep in me that needs to be slept but each time i sleep i don't sleep that sleep

#I’m pretty sure that’s it’s because pregnancy ficked up my sinuses and I can no longer sleep on my stomach #without waking up at some point in the middle of the night gasping for air because I can’t breathe through my nose.#it’s terrifying so I’ve trained myself to sleep on my back.#but I’ve never slept as well as I did when I could sleep on my stomach.#it’s been 23+ years.

#basically how I feel about the new BSC book.#I know you are thinking what did you expect from a middle grade book?#and I say as an elementary school librarian who reads dozens of mg books a year:#I expected a lot!#I have read so many absolutely phenomenal mg novels in the past two years!#the bsc books were always formulaic but man Kristy's Great Idea is still so funny and clever--it holds up.#I get why they would to stick to the formula for the new book but so many of the storylines fell flat #(Kristy's and Jessi's being the exceptions)#I had really high hopes as an og fan but I also really hoped it would appeal to my students who love the bsc graphic novels #but won't touch the og books.#and I don't think it will.#I'll probably buy it with scholastic dollars but I don't think it'll circ even if I book talk it.

#we are pan (finished copy of a graphic novel I picked up at ala)#Persepolis (vintage classics edition I bought on vacation and started but keep setting aside)#a bunch of fic I put on my kindle #I have at least 20 books I WANT to read before going back to work but I am paralyzed by indecision #and I also want to get some writing done and work on other projects #and if I get sucked into a book right now I will do nothing but read.#actually I’m #about to go on a long run so I’ll probably listen to whatever audio book I have out from Libby right now.

Power’s still out and according to the outage map it’s only like half the block. I went to pick up our CSA box and a house two houses away had its lights on.

I think it finally came back sometime between 8:30 and 9. We were at dinner with friends and one of the kids looked at the outage map around 8:15 and it was still out, but when we got home a little after 9 it was back.

It's way too early in the summer to be having stress dreams about work.

#one was about a package for our ece campus being sent to me at my house over the summer #and they wanted me to bring it over.#the other was about a parent trying to check out a copy of a book his kid had already checked out and never returned.

#I was literally going to download the fic and hop on the treadmill but obviously that isn’t happening either.#The lighting obviously took out a transformer and it looked (I was in my office upstairs and could see out the window) like it struck #something in the neighbor’s backyard because something started smoking.#but I don’t think a transformer would be in somebody’s yard?

Finally got this chapter all ready to post and the thing that almost undid me was copying it from Scrivener and pasting it into ao3. I still haven't gotten my gel nails removed (it's been a month) and they're now long enough that I can't actually use the touchpad on my computer.

#I had to come upstairs and connect my mouse #I'm getting my nails fixed tomorrow.

#2011 and we are coming up on the anniversary next month I think.#sort of an lj refugee but mostly found my way here because so many parks people were here.#(I blame diaphenia)

Ugh, I have like two sentences, max, to wrap up this chapter before I post it and of course words fail me. I also have to run to Costco AGAIN because my son pointed out that one of the inner packages of the lunch meat I bought (which came in a sealed larger packed) is open.

I guess I'll hope those two sentences magically come to me sometime during the hour-long round trip? And post later tonight?

#I do not buy lunch meat for myself for food safety and also health reasons BUT #it's one of those things that if I don't buy it my kid who still lives here will just spend his own money to buy it at work #where it's like double the price.#and while I do think that he should pay for some of his shit because he's an adult I'd rather he eat the food we have here #and use his own money to fix his car so he doesn't have to rely on me/Uber/our ridiculously inefficient bus system.
