why were you microwaving a lemon???
I read boiling lemons helps cover up bad smells (I wanted to cover up the scent of burnt oranges) but I didnât own any pots
Did you burn an orange too? How???

In Finland, speeding tickets are calculated based on your income - causing some Finnish millionaires to pay fines of over $100,000. Source
This is what âequalityâ looks like in that liberal fairy tale land of Finland. Â They punish you proportionately to how successful you are. Â Sounds really âfair.â
Except⊠it is fair? Because itâs proportionate. I donât get whatâs difficult about that. An impoverished person paying $400 dollar fine isnât the same as a millionaire paying the same amount. For the poor person, $400 dollars could mean starving. Would you really claim it would have the same consequence for a rich man? Would it even be noticeable to him, while the absence of food in their stomach would be glaring to a poorer man? Would it be fair for a man to starve for the same crime as a man that would be having a three course meal?
By taking income into account, it allows the impoverished able to still survive while paying any fines they may incur. And, ultimately, while $100,000 dollars would be noticeable to a millionaire, they would still get by. And, assuming the law is properly implemented, they would be paying the same equivalent of their yearly income that a poorer person would. Thatâs what makes it fair. They would be impacted the same way - but you are looking at the amount rather than the equation.
Also, itâs important to make sure that even the rich would pause at the cost of a fine. They need to fear the law just as a poor man does.Â
Oh no⊠rich people facing fines that might actually make them consider not doing illegal things because the punishments might actually hurt them⊠how unfair⊠-V
Finnish person here. Our speeding ticket system owns and only people who bitch about them are people who wanna break the laws - the loudest whiners are the rich people who think they can just pay their way out of trouble and thatâs why we have laws like that.
400 dollar ticket.
Person making 10 dollars an hour:Â âFuck, I better slow downâ
Millionaire driving a Jaguar:Â âLOL 400 DOLLARS, FUCK THAT, NYOOMâ
Compared to a proportional ticket.
Person making 10 dollars an hour and must pay 400 dollar ticket:Â âFuck, I better slow down.â
Millionaire who must pay 100,000 dollar ticket:Â âFuck, I better slow down.â
Like wtf. Some people have been so brainwashed by capitalism and worship of the rich that they literally canât tell the difference between fairness and unfairness anymore.
It IS fair. The fact that it flies in the status quo so much should make you think about that status quo.

One day, you get a knock on your door. When you open it, you see the protagonist from your favorite book standing there, wide-eyed. âI know you wonât believe me,â they say, âbut youâre the main character of my favorite book. I know how it ends and Iâm here to change it.â

I donât trust Maroon 5
why
Well first of all thereâs 7 band members, not 5. Thatâs not why I donât trust them, I just think itâs weird.
Now getting to the point, do you know how many top 100 hits Maroon 5 has had? A lot. Theyâre even on billboards top 100 artists of all time (ALL TIME). And itâs understandable, because pretty much every song they put out is fucking awesome. Sugar, Donât Wanna Know, Moves Like Jagger, Payphone, This Love, She Will Be Loved, Cold, Animals, Maps, Misery, Harder to Breathe, Never Gonna Leave This Bed⊠to name a FEW.
These shitheads have been popping out jams since I was a little kid. Well over a decade worth of killer music. Every other song I hear on the radio is Maroon 5. Itâs always Maroon 5. And I fucking love it. I love all their songs. Everyone does, theyâre awesome.
But hereâs the thing. Theyâre never the top selling artists. On the top 100 list, theyâre only in the 40s. They very rarely have a number 1 hit. Theyâre considered good, I supposeâŠ.. but not great. Not the best.
How many people have you heard say Maroon 5 is their favorite band? For me itâs zero. For many of you, itâs zero. If youâre thinking to yourself âwhat? No I love them, theyâre my fave!â Are you sure? Are you really sure? Theyâre your absolute complete FAVORITE band ever??? I doubt it. Youâre just saying that because the band is on your mind now. If I asked you your fave band any other time youâd come up with another answer. Everyone always does.
But they SHOULD be everyone favorites. Look at all of those songs. Theyâve got so many top hits. Everyone loves their music. Everyone sings along and knows the songs. They should be my favorite band, I think I like more of their songs than of my actual favorite artist. But they are not my favorite. They are no ones favorite.
I think they made a deal with someone. Satan? God? A dude down an alleyway? Who knows. But I believe they made a deal to ensure everyone would love their music. And we do. Itâs great music.
But the twist is that theyâll never truly be recognized as one of the best. Sure, their songs will play on the radio and everyone will sing along. Theyâll have sold out concerts. Plenty of fans. But not enough. Theyâll be just good. Never great. Never the best. Even if they should be our favorite, they never will be. Theyâll never sell enough albums or have their songs reach as high on the billboards as they should. Everyone loves their music, per the agreement. But no one loves them.
I hope Adam Levine knows Iâm on to him. I know what he did.
i was just watching a video about how in into the spider-verse, the camera in the movie moves at 24 frame rates per second and at the beginning when heâs still adjusting and learning to control his powers, miles is animated at 12 fps (the way a lot of classic cartoons are done) so heâs moving at half the rate, but peter parker, who is the older and much more experienced spider-man, is animated at 24 fps, so his movements are a lot more fluid and refined. Â
but by the end of the movie, when miles has completely stepped into his role and learned how to master his powers, heâs finally moving at 24 fps, at the same speed and with the camera, and i think thatâs so motherfucking breathtaking and intricate and adds a little something to the movie, even if most people wouldnât notice that specific aspect.Â
iâm so in love with small details like that and i donât think iâll really ever get over how beautifully made that film is.Â
That feeling when youâre smart enough to know how awkward you are, but not smart enough to know how not to be awkward.
