you know what? i’m tired of seeing misogyny and the abuse of women excused and accepted. i’m tired of the acceptance and glorification of art or writing that normalizes and even encourages the brutalization of women’s bodies and treats our suffering as a commodity. i’m tired of reading about works of art and fiction that feature the rape and torture and abuse of women in exploitative ways. and i’m tired of hearing about how critics find them to be valuable commentary on social issues, or philosophical statements, as if the treatment of women in them doesn’t matter at all or is somehow less significant when compared to the cultural value. 

we matter. our bodies matter. our consent matters. and i am tired of our objectification and abuse being treated as insignificant.
