Fact #11
There’s a small sect of members of the Ruthless that don’t have a Genre. They refer to themselves as the Undeads and wear painted hockey masks all the time.

Fact #10
I planned to have Lone be an ally of Alexia wherein they ignored her leading of Ruthless.
But it's a lot more fun to have a secondary antagonist that hates the protagonist faction for 'unknown' reasons.
Fact #9
Alexia's last name was originally going to begin with a C (most likely to be Corvella).
I forgot I'd given her that initial so I just gave the name to Alice.
Fact #8
Most of the Ruthless fight scenes were planned on the bus ride home from school.
It's a very boring journey.
Fact #7
The split-focus narrative structure used (I.E. focuses on multiple people depending on the chapter) was born from an idea of mine that the 'main character' was not actually the primary protagonist.
This would have unequivocally ended with Chris dying in under 10 chapters.
Fact #6
Sean was designed from the ground-up to be a subversion of the 'kill your gays' trope.
A good indicator for my work is that if a character is straight they're either evil or gonna die (or both).
Fact #5
Despite being 23 in Ruthless, Alexia is the youngest character to appear in the series, being a newborn in Cruel: Part 2.
Fact #4
Sean's favourite book/story is My Immortal.
He thinks it's a literary masterpiece.
Fact #3
Alexia and Lone were once drafted as being lovers.
This changed once I made Lone a 40-year-old, and when they met Alexia she would've been a teenager.
Fact #2
Ruthless started as a stage play for my Year 11 (10th Grade) Drama class, wherein after the apocalypse two rival music factions battle for supremacy, largely ignoring the dictatorship of the mainlands goverment, during which two lovers from either party meet.
I changed it up a lot because my stepdad told me it was too much like West Side Story (also it ripped off Romeo & Juliet)
Fact #1
Chris was originally planned to be bi.
I changed it to straight because I hate Chris.
