“Well, you’re certainly welcome to hang out with me, if you want,” he offered, smiling a little for the first time in the conversation. “But you’re asking people for help with your family, which shows you still care, so you might as well keep trying to get along with them until you do, or you stop giving a crap. Whatever comes first, I guess.”

“yeah but they don’t care so i need to work on not giving a crap, or otherwise i’m just gonna be sad for the rest of my life. and you’re nice. and we’re technically sibling groups now, right? so we should be friends so when they inevitably put us on air, it looks natural or whatever.”
