“i mean, i just wear a jumper over a t-shirt so if it gets too hot, i take the jumper off and put it back on if i’m cold, but i wouldn’t describe it as crazy. more like... a normal autumnal season?”

“Isn’t it always a surprise if people don’t expect you to show up?” She sighed a little. “I’m sure it will soon enough. Is it just you who isn’t busy, or is it everyone?” Kiseon had never had a real job before, but she hoped that that was how things worked, and that it was his whole company who wasn’t busy and not just him.

While she didn’t regret not telling Ryder that she was part of a girl group, she felt a little guilty that she wasn’t entirely honest with him. The peace and quiet of having a friend that didn’t expect anything from her as an idol was more than enough to keep that mostly at bay. Echoes was starting to gain popularity and more people were recognizing her and the girls. Having someone who didn’t know was kind of comforting. She bent over the corner of the page she was reading before closing her book and laying it on the table. “Oh, yeah. My, uh…. My team and I were just given more to do, so this is the first bit of time I’ve had to myself in a while. It’s nice to not be alone, though. I’m glad you showed up.”

“that’s true,” ryder replied, taking a sip of his coffee before shrugging. “just me - the other guys have got things they’re doing so it’s only me with the free time. they’re jealous, obviously, which they should be and i’m milking it as much as i can.”

to say ryder didn’t recognise kacey would be untruthful; from the get go he knew he had seen her face somewhere. despite being an idol he never kept up with debuts and groups but he couldn’t help but think kiseon was among something that had been anticipated. he shrugged it off as her looking similar to someone or her being an ulzzang. “glad i could be here,” he said with a smile. “so work’s been stressful then?”
