As adamant as she’d been about getting in touch with her brother, now that it was happening, she was nervous.
She was coming to Alpha under the guise of an audition to be a trainee. Minseo didn’t quite know how to dress for an audition, so she’d worn her school uniform, backpack snug over her shoulders as she skipped up to the doors, giving her information so security would let her in. From there, she was taken to a waiting room, where she was told to sit.
If her mother saw her there, sitting cross legged in a skirt (she was wearing shorts underneath) she’d get smacked, but her mother wasn’t there, was she? Fishing a sandwich out of her backpack, she looked around the room as she munched, almost jumping up at any sign of movement, only to sit down again.
When Shinwoo finally came back around the corner, she dropped her sandwich on her chair, standing up and wiping her hands on her skirt, before offering her hand for a handshake. “Well, finally. I’ve been waiting for, like, two hours,” she scoffed. “You’re a lot shorter in person.”
it was a lot to process. hell, sam was 90% sure that he was being tricked or scammed.
he usually ignored dms; he was pretty fucking famous, so he got a lot of them on the daily. but then one name started to pop up all over-- minseo. his twitter, his instagram, his facebook, his email. finally he caved and look; if she was a fan, she was dedicated, and probably deserved a little recognition. it’d make her day. but when he opened the dms and scrolled, eventually landing on a picture she couldn’t have gotten, his childhood bedroom.........his stomach had sunk.
he still wasn’t sure if he believed her, but nothing would happen online, so he wanted to meet her in person. she was being lodged with the trainees as a cover, but really he’d just begged ryukji for time to find out who this girl was-- and if she was telling the truth, then she needed out of that house as soon as possible. shinwoo hadn’t told jei yet. he didn’t want her to worry. once he figured out who minseo was, he’d let her in on the secret.
it took him a moment to catch his breath and prepare himself before coming around the corner to meet her. she couldn’t have been more than fourteen, and it broke his heart. how the fuck did he not know who she was (if her story was true?)
she certainly had a mouth on her-- he smiled slightly, shaking her tiny hand. “closer twenty minutes. they texted me when you arrived, but i was in a meeting. thank you for coming.” he choked on air, coughing and hiding a laugh behind his hand, glancing sideways at her. “yeah? well you’re no giant either, kid.”
