“really? debuting sounds worse and worse with each passing minute. does anyone not know me? i’m pretty sure i’ve got a reputation as an eater thanks to sieon and his ways.”
“Once you debut you will realize it’s all worth it.”
“yeah yeah, idol project’s fun and all but i miss not being to have more freedom on what i eat. now i actually need to care about how i look to the rest of the world.”
“Hate to say it but you better get used to that. Once you debut it will be something you have to be conscious of all the time.”
“Why are you placing the blame on me? It takes two to tango. We’re both supposed to put equal amounts of effort in, and I’m putting more than I should in.” He rolled his eyes as soon as his words left his mouth. He watched her collect her things before heading towards the bathroom. At last, Jinkyu could feel himself finally relaxing in his own home, the tension from the situation diffusing as the two of them were finally in separate rooms.
Jinkyu was sat on the grey sofa, watching a cooking programme when Julie returned to the main room, his eyes averted from the screen to look at the shorter female, “I bet it’s nice.” He adds to the conversation before staring back at the television screen. A few moments pass before he speaks up again, “Although, you came here so we could improve our chemistry, but you just disappeared for an hour. This night’s going well, right?” Jinkyu’s tone had an inching of sarcasm laced with it.
Tucking her hands into the pockets of her cardigan she sighed as she attempted to get comfortable. The only places she ever felt comfortable had been her grandmothers house of the dorm. She had never been able to get comfortable at other peoples houses, especially not male’s house. Even hotels gave her problems. She saw he was watching a cooking show and smiled lightly to herself. She hummed a response nodding her head.
She bit her tongue at his comment before turning, pulling her legs up under her on the couch. “Look... I’ll admit our ‘chemistry’ problems are probably my fault. I’m not good with physical contact from men so all the touching and stuff we’ve been having to do lately is throwing me off.” she said looking at her hands as she played with a loose string handing off of one of her sleeves.
Sally laughed, hugging her back and giving the leader a happy little peck on the cheek. “you’d better love me! we’ve been a team for eight years– I expect us to be solid for eight more, okay?” She put the other coffees down, sitting cross-legged on the floor. “How’s the set? Anything exciting happen?”
“Oh god eight more years? I don’t know if my poor back can handle eight more years.” she teased holding a hand on her back. She smiled at the coffee taking it into her hands and holding it against her cheek for a moment before drinking from the cup. “Unless you count being uncomfortable as exciting? Then no.”
“Forget about him, then. You and I can go out and enjoy ourselves, and if he doesn’t like it, it’s his problem. Now, I think I promised you a coffee, hmm?”
“That sounds like a plan to me. I mean, not that I hate him or anything but...”
Jinkyu raised his eyebrow as he took another sip of his drink, “It’s your name isn’t it? Whatever you want I guess.” He put the glass down as he stared at her, looking her up and down before resting his elbow on the table, propping his chin up on his open palm, “I’ve been doing this professionally since I was twenty and I’ve been into acting since I was a kid, I’m more than capable of acting like I love someone who I don’t know.”
“She’s the only person I have. The only person who treats me normally.” Jinkyu snarked back, standing up properly. “Don’t be so ridiculous, you know what I mean. You can use the shower. You can sleep in a bed. You can sit on furniture that has the purpose of being sat on.” He responded, rolling his eyes in the process.
Getting lost in her own thoughts, memories to be more precise, Julie stood silent for a few moments, her bottom lip trembling before she cleared her throat and shook her head. “Not anymore.” she said simply as she lifted her head to look at him. She sighed, “Well clearly your not doing a good enough job if they told to spend time together to work on out chemistry.” she said even though in the back of her mind she knew it was probably mostly because of her.
“You still have someone. Halmoni died a few years ago, I have no one now. Just my members.” she said smiling ever so lightly at the mention of her grandmother. Turning on her heel she moved to her bag gathering a few things before moving off silently towards the bathroom, leaving him alone. Just under an hour later she padded back into the living room in much more comfortable clothing then she had arrived in towel drying her long hair. “Wah, I almost forgot how nice it is to take a nice long shower, without a line waiting outside the door for their turn.” she said in a much better mood then she previously had been as she sat herself down on the couch about a foot from him.
“No, of course not! We can let him twist in the wind– it’s up to you!”
“I like the sound of that. I spend more then enough time with him on set.”
“maybe, but there’d be some way to do it! even if it’s just for collab albums and they all debut in their own groups, it’d be cute to see them all together and not have any sadness over not being in the final group.”
“It would be cute to see but very unlikely. Maybe for a docking station track but that’s about all I could see.”
“Certainly lucky for you that you happen to have the best maknae in the business, huh?” Sooyoung said with a bright little smile, handing Julie a coffee, hand wrapped tight around the tray she was using to carry all the others she’d gotten for her members.
Seeing the coffee Julie almost cried in happiness, instead moving to wrap the maknae in a hug. “Ah Sooyoungie, I love you, you really are the best maknae ever.” she said smiling before releasing the girl and sipping the coffee.
“Jinkyu can wait. We’ll buy him something while we’re out while we’re at it,” riah said with a giggle.
“Do we have to?” Julie asked giving the other a look. “I’d rather not and say I didn’t.”
“You shouldn’t have come then. I didn’t ask for you to be here, it was my manager who suggested you to stay here.” Jinkyu snarked back, grabbing a glass to fill with water from the tap. He raised an eyebrow, a short laugh leaving his lips after her last comment. “Thanks, I like to fully get into my characters. Immersion is the best way to portray a character, Juhee.” He took a sip from the glass as he stared at her. “Do you want a drink or not?”
In between taking sips from his glass and looking at her he finally noticed her bag, “Oh, right. I don’t let anyone into my room. You’ll be sleeping in the guest room. I don’t want you touching anything in there either, it’s the room my mother uses when she visits so that’s mostly her stuff in there. I’ll know if you’ve touched something.” He instructed again, pointing to the guest room door.
Running a hand through her hair she sighed heavily at his attitude. She froze however when he said her real name and stood suddenly turning to glare at him. “Don’t call me that. It’s Julie. Never call me that.” she said. Hearing a male voice call her JuHee hit her hard, dredging up memories of her uncle. “If we want this show to be successful we have to at least look like we are capable of being in love with each other of no one will watch the show.”
Sending him one more glare she grabbed her bad before moving to the guest room and tossing her bag on the bed. “At least you have a mother who can come visit you.” she said bitterly. “So I’m not allowed to touch anything, what they hell am I supposed to do. Am I even allowed to sit on your furniture? Or Maybe use the shower?”

Jinkyu knew that trying to get the right atmosphere and chemistry in a drama took a lot. The director had sat him and Julie down earlier to tell them both that he wanted them to spend some time together to increase their chemistry, and even though Jinkyu wasn’t keen on it his manager butted in to say that Julie could stay at his place. If there’s one thing that Ahn Jinkyu can’t stand it’s having other people in his personal space; the one place he can get away from everyone.
When Julie arrived that evening he let her in, guiding her into the open living space before gesturing to a seat. “I’m just going to lay down some rules; don’t touch anything, don’t go through anything.” He addressed before heading over to the kitchen, “Do you want something to eat?”
She knew their chemistry wasn’t the greatest but Julie was doing her best. She liked Jinkyu, she did but she was still put off by men in general. She thought she was keeping up a good charade whilst acting but it seemed the director noticed and wanted them to spend more time together and work on their chemistry which was how she now found herself stepping inside his apartment.
Hearing his rules she rolled her eyes. “Why would I want to look through your stuff? I don’t want to be here just as much as you don’t want me to be.” she said shaking her head. “No wonder you were cast as Joon Young, your just as crappy an attitude as he does sometimes.” she muttered under her breath as she put her bag down next to the couch before sitting down.
“I’ll treat you to a coffee? It’s an excuse to take you out, and you get your caffeine kick– it’s win-win.”
“That sounds amazingly perfect right about now. Granted Jinkyu doesn’t text me saying I need to be on set any time soon.”
her mouth drops a little as she gasps quietly, but who was she to judge? “i mean…do you plan to stay awake for the next ten days on a roll or something?”
“Not quite. I’m just busy busy busy. Still have a lot of episodes to film.” Julie said with a tired smile.
“i don’t know how people can choose a favourite in idol project, everyone’s so good! so much so i’m wondering why can’t all of them debut in one big group?”
“I think that may be hard Jaeeunie seeing as their all from different agencies.”
Dahee was sitting in the back of one of Juliette’s vans. She was fixing her makeup, and listening to her manager talk about the schedule of today. It was pretty simple. All she had to do was visit Julie on set of her latest drama, give her and the staff some sweets stay for maybe an hour or two, then the rest of her day was free. This was all in hopes that one of the producers would write a fanaccount or tell the press how sweet Dahee- or well, Angel, is. Another plus would be that Dahee would be in some behind the scene videos and sell that sisterly image the company loved to project on them.
The Van pulled up to the shooting area and Dahee quickly grabbed her things and made her way to Julie. “Hey darling!” She said jokingly as she placed an air kiss on her cheek. “How are things here? The media buzz is pretty strong, I’m wishing you good luck on this drama!” she said enthusiastically. Dahee moved her bangs out of her face, and beamed a smile at the girl. “So, show me around set! It’s been awhile since I’ve been on drama shooting. I forgot my way around” She joked
They had been in the middle of filming episode 7 and Julie was having an internal panic attack at how close she had to be with Jinkyu for the scene coming up. She had to be straddling his lap for gods sake. She could already feel her skin crawling but tried to keep reminding herself, it was No Eul not Julie. She kept repeating it like a mantra as she sat on the couch within the house they used for Joon Youngs place, running over her lines as she heard a familiar voice.
Sighing heavily she took a moment before putting on a smile and turned to Dahee. She knew the other was just her for promotional image is gave her of being the Angel of Juliette. “Not much to show you really, This is where we film for inside of Jinkyu’s characters home.” she said motioning around to the white house, giant pictures on Jinkyu hung everywhere.
“really? coffee, coke or redbull? pure sugary things also work, but the afterwards is just…awful and hardly worth it, in my humble opinion.”
“All of the above?” Julie asked with a chuckle.
