I watched Rwby when it came out, and I decided to rewatch it recently, and I love Cinder she is cool.

Liked her so much it inspired to actually draw, I have never drawn a character before! Not perfect but I'm happy anyways.

I think people misunderstand Cinder's relationship with Emerald and Mercury. The assumption is that because the relationship is toxic, that means Cinder doesn't care about them. But it's ultimately both: it's toxic, but she cares for them.

Her care for them is mostly manifested in her providing them with safety. Seen both in V2 and explicitly stated by Tyrian: they are under Cinder's protection. And in V8, she is both seemingly saddened by Emerald's betrayal and by Mercury accusing her of not caring.

And that's ultimately Cinder's limitation; she can't provide them more than that because she wasn't taught that. All her parental figures are either abusers or Rhodes, who, while he did encourage her, wasn't there to protect her.

So it's a survivor mostly raising her followers to be survivors, because for someone unloved, that's all there is to it.

The voice of our favorite fire Queen!

Ever since volume 1 she has brought life to one of my favorite characters in the series and has only gotten better with each volume, with her portrayal of her in volume 7 and 8 being an absolute highlight of the entire series.

The idea Cinder sees Salem as her mom thanks to her past while Salem sees Cinder as her daughter due to her powers is creepy since its a toxic platonic relationship on both sides.
