What makes this whole coup subplot all the more absurd was that Blake, Sun, Kali, and Ghira find out about it only for them to... not do anything about it? At all?

There’s no point in them knowing that information if they were never going to participate in it directly. Blake’s just gonna hang out in Menagerie for a few episodes until it’s time for her to haul ass.

She gets to Mistral and finds out what’s happened and is just like, “Oh well Sienna’s dead so I guess I’m off to fight Adam now.” 

Way to make your storyline not just horribly offensive but also extremely uninteresting by killing off the character with the most nuance in the history of the show. 

The whole thing is racist and tone-deaf and I don’t even know why I’m even here but I guess being emotionally invested in something will drill your feet into the ground whether you want to stay or not.

People were promised LGBT representation. Years later and a cheap hetero romance plot later, they haven’t received it. Maybe I’m crazy, but I feel people are justified in their anger over the lack of said promised representation. Especially since we previously received Ar/kos and heavily hinted Re/nora.

I feel I should also state that Miles ability to write a romance should hold no bearing on his ability to write LGBT characters. The 2 aren’t mutually exclusive.

I want to add 242 LGBT characters were killed on screen between 2015 and 2016 alone. If there’s a reason we want representation is because we kept getting killed in fiction for shit reasons while cishets get a variety of happy endings and three-dimensional characters. 

It’s fucking tiring to hear about people like me still getting killed in real life and then seeing the same damn thing on TV. 

Let’s stop pretending this is about a ship when it was never about a ship.

the white fang are a violent hate group the factthat the faunus face discrimination doesnt change that or justify their actions the whole because they are minority they get to do what ever they want idea is bs. The White Fang were a peaceful protest group that turned radical when they kept being mistreated, Blake fucking says so in season one but I guess having the retention ability of a brick makes it easy to forget that. The issue we in rwde are complaining about is that the CRWBY do not hesitate to portray them as violent, abusive, blood-thirsty villains rather than address and expose the social causes that made them turn radical.

It’s not that being a minority lets you do whatever you want. Oppressed groups resorting to violence is a very real and very ancient political phenomenon.

Ever heard of this notion? This is a concept taught in the most basic PoliSci classes. Those who are privileged have their privilege protected by legislation, police, military, and a wide variety of other institutions.

The vast majority of the world, 60%, in fact, is concentrated in Asia, a continent predominantly populated by various races and ethnicities that are decidedly not white. Yet, I don’t hear any of you complaining about there being too many white people or too few Asian people in fictional media.

Population density is a thing too ya know, but i never really care about ethnicity because it doesn’t even affect the course of a show. If they’re outright blatantly trying to exclude races, then yeah i have a problem. With gay relationships, that affects the course of a show MAJORLY, and i hate love at first sight bull for anything (which is why i enjoyed the reset in development for blacksun but hated iceberg) and actually SUPPORTED bumbleby up until season 4. I could go on, and i acknowledge this post was directed towards me. I’d appreciate if you didn’t send your people after me just for this, but i don’t control you, I’m just hoping for civil discussion.

“Population density is a thing too ya know.” Most of my classes in college are related to history and politics so I’m pretty fucking sure I know what population density is. What I don’t know is how this is at all relevant a conversation about representation based solely on a global sample.

Do not prioritize your opinion over the voices of LGBT people. You do not live with this discrimination and erasure. There is no way you can understand an experience that does not affect you. 

You wanna be an ally? Fine. Then listen to when LGBT people tell you when you’re being arrogant and entitled instead of trying to yell and outrage when it is not your place.

Performative allyship is just as bad if not worse than no allyship.

So what if a bisexual such as myself says that RWBY isn’t queerbaiting? Because I can tell you without a doubt that RWBY itself isn’t queerbaiting. Roosterteeth is definitely QBeeing, but not RWBY itself.

You get to have a say, of course. However, “the people in charge are queerbaiting and not this piece of media which cannot exist or make decisions on its own” kind of goes without saying.

It’s just generalized language. When people say “x show is queerbaiting”, they obviously mean the writers.

WELL, Dan, since you asked;

The second time Jaune decided to give totally 100% platonic friends-only physical affection to Pyrrha, he randomly swept her off her feet (literally) and carried her from the roof to the dorm. Bridal style.

Pyrrha found it to be several things. Embarrassing. Shocking. Perhaps more exhilarating than would be prudent to admit under the best of circumstances.

Jaune, for his part, mostly just wanted to show off the effects his partner’s tutelage had been having on him.

In a short amount of time, she’d started him toward being a strong and capable young man in his own right.

Granted, carrying a slender young woman is significantly less taxing than sparring with the same lady, but nonetheless he’d progressed.

No less than five people saw the event and Pyrrha caught herself hoping that people would talk.

Jaune, oblivious as ever, was just happy to lay down after a long day and a boastful display.
