While out at lunch the other day, I shot a few photos of the restaurant. The food was good, the service was good, the atmosphere was awesome. Woodstock GA
This is my pal, Jimmy. We were out shooting in midtown Atlanta last night. While walking down 10th st, a block from Piedmont ave, mid conversation, I turned around to find him frozen in front of this little market, texting. Standing in what turned out to be the best piece of light we found all night, I seized the opportunity to photograph him as a stranger passed us. As it turns out this is the only useable photo from the night of shooting.
This is the Atlanta prison farm, heard of it? Maybe you've noticed it in "The Walking Dead", as it was used for a short time during filming of the AMC show, maybe you and your friends joked about going there to have a party, or maybe you've never heard hide nor hair of it. Wether you've see it or not, its an amazing place to visit and explore. A minimum security prison in use since 1945, it housed thousands of non-violent inmates and employed focus on farming to rehabilitate its residents. The property is the largest green area inside the perimeter, sitting atop a hill overlooking the nearly 300-acre landscape, in its prime was full of plants and animals being looked after by the inmates. 1995 was the year the hammer dropped, the prison was to be abandoned. It sat, wasting away, for 14 years when, in 2009, a fire broke out in the main building. The fire department arrived and deemed the building not worthy of the risk and effort involved to save the building, it burned self out and continued to decay in the heat and moisture of the south. Nearly 20 years have passed and this site has become a magnet for vandals and artists alike, every surface is covered in layers of graffiti themed in undeniable political and social issues, to immensely detailed artwork. Trash litters every nook and cranny of the property, it has become a literal dump, an effort has been made to stop people from continuing to dump here, it would prove to be an effort made in vain though. The future of the site remains in limbo, talks of creating a recreational park have floated around for years but nothing yet has been approved. At the end of the day I suggest you explore this place for yourself while you still can, carefully.

i shot my roommates beetle again, this time in our driveway.
My buddy, Nathan, and his mint 1972 Mercedes Benz 220. These are from the day after he bought it and drove it home more than 4 hours on little more than a quick look under the hood. We found a few little things wrong with it, but over all its in very good shape. I hope to shoot the car again after we finish cutting it up and rebuilding it..
This is a small selection of a series of photos i shot on a Minolta x370 that i bought at a Goodwill about a year and a half ago. Originally this was supposed to be a test roll [of film] to check if the camera operated correctly. Things quickly spiraled out of control as it became a year long project. Today I had the film developed at a Walgreens. Having no idea what to expect from he camera itself on top of forgetting many of the things i shot, and opening the camera back without fully winding the film, I was unsure of what i might see when i picked up the prints. My first full year of living in Atlanta, and the things i had seen in that time, it was a pleasant trip down memory lane. Enjoy.
