Kai looked over at the man he got a drink for and scanned his face. “You look a little awkward, maybe this drink will loosen you up a little.” He joked back with a chuckle of his own as he clinked his glass against his. “You’re welcome. Cheers.” She said, before his eyes roamed over the other man’s exposed body. “Nice outfit.” He said appreciatively.

Ryder was pretty awkward if he’s being honest, it’s just how he was. It was either good or bad, it depends on who you ask. “Yeah, that’s just my personality.” He jokes back, head shaking in amusement. Humming at the clinking of the glass before taking a drink from his glass. Chuckling though at mention of his outfit, fingers playing with the rim of his glass. “Someone said it made my ass look good, so I figured why the hell not.” Ryder chuckles lightly.

Kai was used to dressing up. All of the galas and parties that his parents dragged him to required him to be dressed to the nines. He had to look nothing short of perfect. But that doesn’t mean that he likes dressing like that. He wore a tailored suit that cost a fortune but was really uncomfortable. He wasn’t really interested in the party so he walked over to the bar and sat down, loosening his tie a little. He ordered a beer and took sip, releasing a satisfied “Ahhhh” as he finished his sip. He noticed someone sitting down beside him. He waved down the barman and said: “A drink for my friend over here.” Though he hasn’t even looked up to see who it was yet.

Cage had been in his outfit for the event, just going around and making sure that people’s drinks were filled. Just trying to busy himself really. Events and parties tended to make him nervous and it felt as though his heart was going to beat right out of his chest. Cage however decided to take a little break, heading to the bar. He could use a drink or ten right about now. But when a drink was ordered for him, his head instantly looks over to see who ordered it for him. “Oh...uh..thanks.” God Cage was so fucking awkward that it’s not even funny at this point. “It’s like you know I needed it....does my face really give it away?” The wolf jokes lightly.

cage knows that eddie didn’t give any breaks. sure, cage got a tiny one because he was family, but eddie was still aggressive with the boy. he might have even held a gun up to the other before just to show him how serious he was. eddie was hard on cage, but he wasn’t as hard as he was with other people, so a piece of him had a little tiny smidge care for the boy. or maybe it was just a little loyalty smidge due to them being blood? he wasn’t sure entirely. he’s about to object but then cage pays his debt, eddie counting and checking first. “what the fuck does ‘or so’ mean?” he asks as he puts the money he was just given away and starts to grab what cage wanted. “no longer than 2 weeks, cage. i don’t need you around distracting my clients.”

One thing Cage always did was make sure he paid his brother, if it wasn’t right when he got what he wanted then it was always a couple days later. When Eddie had pulled a gun on him, he did wonder if his brother would have shot him. If he was so far gone that he’d kill Cage. The only three that knew about Cage taking the fall for Eddie was Eddie, Cage and their little sister Ramona. They tried getting him to sell his brother out but it wasn’t something that Cage would do. “You really need to count it? I’m not going to fuck you over...I’m not that stupid..no matter what you might think.” Cage bites his lip and shrugs, fingers going through his hair. “Just until my place is done. And if you don’t want anybody here then you might want to tell Ramona. Because she seems to think you’re going to let her stay with you. Told her you wouldn’t that you’d let her sleep on the streets.” He shrugs, reaching in his pocket and pulling out a joint, lighting it and taking a long hit, holding it out for his brother. “I’ll stay in the room when you’ve got clients, Eddie.”

“im not your fucking errand boy, so check yourself, you little shit,” eddie says in response quickly. as his brother went on, he groaned, “are you fucking serious?” he clenched his fists, “you’re paying that half you didn’t get. this is why i didn’t want you to work for me.. you fuck everything up and can never do anything right.” 

Cage rolls his eyes, annoyed at his brother. “You didn’t fucking tell me the dude was fucking tweaking.” He mutters, huffing out before shaking his head in even more annoyance. “I fuck everything up? if it wasn’t for me, asshole then you’d be sitting your ass in prison right now. Who was there for your ass when the cops came, huh? Who took the fucking fall for that? Right, me. But I’m the fuck up. Whatever, dude.” Cage digs out his wallet, pulling out his money and tossing money the guy owed, tossing it at his brother. “Don’t want me working for you? Fine. Then I quit. I’ll find another dealer, or fuck go back fucking my old clients. You and Ramona can pretend I ain’t even here. Should be easy enough for you.”

“so what can i do for you?”

“First you could get me the fucking ice. Second...I only got half the money from that run. Third...I’m never taking Ramona with me again for a fucking run. The dude only gave me half the money then started running so I was chasing him. Ramona’s dumbass went down the other end of the ally we did and she hit us with the fucking car. She fucking hit me with the damn car Eddie.”

Usually after his shift at the bar, he walked the streets for a little bit before heading home, mostly to see if he could find more stuff for his art, but he could give up a night to spend some time with Cage. Why not? Plus, it was a bit reassuring that the other wanted to even see him outside of the bar. It meant that he wasn’t just a listening alcohol provider for the other and that felt pretty nice, he had to admit. “You got it,” he says as he goes to get him the water, checking the time and then smacking the bar to get everyone’s attention before calling out ‘Last call!’. Everyone would have a bit more time to finish up one more drink before Cameron had to close the bar. He handed Cage his water bottle and started to clear up his area, so he could close faster afterwards. “so do ya invited all of your favorite bartenders out for coffee?” he teases a little. 

It wasn’t like Cage had anything better to do tonight, besides he enjoyed the other’s company. And the other had to be hungry after his shift at the bar, the diner having good, or well decent coffee but really good food. “it’ll even be my treat.” He murmurs softly, giving a playful wink. He watches people getting their last drink and looks around before turning his attention over to Cameron again. Chuckling and shaking his head in amusement. “Nope, never because well you’re my first ever favorite bartender.”

Cameron didn’t work every night at the bar, but when he did, he loved that one of his usual’s always came in. It made the night much more bareable, especially from the drunk that came in sometimes. Cameron was friendly always though, always having his eyes on the tips for the night. He could use any tips he got really. Cameron looked at the time when the other asked him to go to coffee, the pair not ever hanging out outside of the bar before. He had just finished making a martini for someone when he turned to look at the cute usual, Cage. “You know what, yeah… why not?” he smiled at the other, “After last call, we can head out, yeah?” he suggests. “Want a refill?” he points to the boy’s glass.

In all honesty, Cage enjoyed going to the bar when Cameron was there. The other was his favorite bartender and really easy to talk with. He did get annoyed at the drunks that tried taking him home though, never going home with the random’s of course. He finished his drink and looks around for a moment before turning his attention back to Cameron. They’d never hung out outside of the bar, but Cameron was easily one of Cage’s favorite people around. “That sounds perfect to me.” He gives a shake of his head, sliding his glass over for the other. “Nah, I’m good with the drinks. Can I get a bottle of water though?”

eddie had heard the door open and smirked at the sight of cage, chuckling a little as he was just sorting out some of his latest treats. he moved some out of sight because cage had sticky fingers at times, especially when he really  needed a high and eddie wasn’t sure which version of his little brother he was about to get as he stepped closer. eddie sitting on the couch, clearly unfazed for the most part. “sup baby bro… what brings you around these parts?” he looks over at him, knowingly. he just likes to make cage say it outloud. “you still owe me from the last time… a family discount has an expiration date kiddo.” // @cageromose

Cage had just gotten off of work, only seeing two clients tonight but they were two of his regulars. He needed a little fix though, so Cage found himself going to his brother’s place. His own condo though was being re-done so he was also needing a place to stay. Though he knows that he’d have to pretty much beg Eddie. Hearing the other’s voice, Cage lets out a breath, moving to sit on a chair across from his brother. Eyes narrowing at the question. “Just give me three eight balls, thirty oxy and forty xanax..” He whines, shifting to dig out his wallet, knowing he owes his brother. Cage sighs and pulls out a grand, tossing it on the table. He wasn’t hurting for money, but sometimes Cage did get desperate. “There, we should be square for this batch and the last.” He rolls his eyes, fingers going through his hair. “Also...I need a place to crash for like a week or so. I’ll throw some money your way for rent and shit. Please, Eddie.”

It was routine at this point, spending a chunk of his night at the same bar, visiting with the same bartender. Cameron was attractive, that was no lie. But really, Cage just enjoyed talking to the other. Ordering himself another drink, Cage hums and watches as the place dies down, fingers tapping on the bar. Eyes going over to Cameron and sticking his tongue out playfully. “Hey...after this...what do you say we go get some coffee?” He finds himself blurting out.  @artisticallycameron

“Thank ya very much, mister.” Ariel said with a grin. She wanted to make as many friends as possible and make connections with people. It was what she did best, and that was a good thing considering her job. Interviewing people all day, every day was a job that required people skills and she’d developed those pretty quickly upon scoring her dream job with Alternative Press. Once Cage returned, the redhead flashed him a smile and took the cup, immediately taking a sip from the cup. “Thank you. It’s nice to meet you, Cage,” Ariel held out her free hand for him to shake. “I’m Ariel - Ariel Franzese.”

Well so far, being social wasn’t totally bad, maybe it wasn’t as bad as what Cage thought. He was a pro at painting on a smile though, this smile though was actually real. For the most part, Cage was pretty relaxed right now and the drinks that he was bringing back would only help with that. Seeing the girl’s free hand, he reaches out to shake it. “It’s been awesome meeting you, Ariel. And you have such an awesome name.” He chuckles, taking a drink from his cup and humming. “This block party isn’t that bad, honestly. Looks like everyone’s having fun.”

Ariel loved social events. She’d always been a social butterfly and these were the types of events she thrived at. Currently, though, she was a bit of a loner - she hadn’t made many new friends yet and needed to get out there more. “Oh, I could go for a screwdriver if you’re offering to get me one,” She said with a grin. “I’ll down the rest of this beer and then I’ll drink one, that would be awesome. I haven’t had a mixed drink in a while, but I’d like to have one.”

Cage could already hear Kayson’s voice in the back of his head, nagging him to go and be social. God he hated how his best friend nagged him to do things because Cage always ended up doing them. “Yeah for sure I’ll go and grab ya one, not a problem at all.” Cage assures with a soft smile. “Screwdrivers are fucking amazing if they’re made right.” He chuckles softly. “Alright, I’ll be right back.” Walking away, he goes to where the little bar set up was, grabbing two new cups and pouring the vodka first, having done it a million times it seemed. After a few minutes, he returns with a smile, holding the cup out for the woman. “Here ya go. Name’s Cage, by the way.”

“If you don’t slow down, I’m going to just take you off leash.” He grumbled towards his dog. One thing he should have thought of when getting a Shiba Inu was the fact they may be lazy, but when they wanted to go out and run, they never seemed to stop depending on the dog. Sometimes you got lucky and they’d want to do nothing, but Max hadn’t been that lucky. The only thing Ares wanted to do was run around and chase things and after a while, it became a daily ritual for them. He had his shirt thrown over one shoulder, his left hand holding onto his pups leash. When someone passed, he hadn’t expected him to dart in their direction. “Whoa!” You little shit. He thought with a chuckle. “Sorry about him. I was trying to train him to be an attack dog and clearly he SUCKS.”

It was a fairly nice day, Cage worked late and slept for the fiver hours after work like normal. Now though he needed his damn coffee so he could function. He was never one that slept much. Or it was more like he wouldn’t sleep much for a month or so then be dead tired for about two weeks. Needless to say, Cage right now was lagging big time. However, seeing the dog it got his attention. Always being a dog person, he stops walking and chuckles, but not going to reach to pet the animal yet. “Might not be a good attack dog, but he’s fucking adorable.” Cage chuckles, looking over to the other now. “It’s okay though. May I pet him?” He asks, wanting permission before just doing.

Ariel needed a drink, which was no different than usual. Her drinking problem was no secret to those that knew her well, and she didn’t care if people knew as long as they weren’t going to try and stop her. It was the fourth of July, for fucks sake, she deserved to day drink if she wanted to. The neighborhood was holding a block party for the holiday and Ari was happy to dive in and be a part of it. She needed to get involved and get to know people. “You want a drink?” She asked, taking a long swig from her beer before continuing. “We’ve got beer and can make some cocktails if you’d rather have that.”

Cage never really attended group things, yet here he was. Knowing damn well that he needed to get out and be somewhat social at least. He just tended not to like people. Hell, he didn’t even like most of his clients but they paid his bills so he played nice. Looking around the scene he finishes the last of his drink. Cage hears a voice and looks over, giving a half smile before nodding slowly. “Yeah, that’d be awesome. It’s just vodka and orange juice in the cup.” He murmurs softly, letting out a sigh of content. “Or do you want me to get you one too? Because I can so do that too.”
