Learning that one band that has had such an impact on your life has now disbanded is a shocker to me. However, I'm not that sad.. I might have missed some big things that happened since I didn't listen to them as much as I used to, but I still loved them either way. My Chemical Romance has helped me through the bullshit I took in high school, helping get over my grandfathers death and slowly coming to terms with it, and just helping me be me.
Most of all though, I really want to thank them so much because they brought me and my family closer. Because of them, my younger cousins looked to me in their time of need, because their other Idol was to busy being a prick to them. They loved MCR just as much as I did when they heard me play their music on the computer, and boy, did it cause them to be very attached to me.
Im mostly thankful for them for helping to save my cousins life. During the beginning of the Black Parade, she had been thinking about doing some pretty bad things to herself that I will not mention here. Because of them, she was saved, and I was given 8 years with her to truly bond and take the time to listen to her, to let her tell me her problems and vent to me. Im so grateful for that...because now...after her car accident, shes not the same anymore, and doesn't remember much of the time we had together. I dont think she remembers that Mikey Way was her Idol, she looked up to him so much. Im just happy they pulled me closer to her, because I don't think I would have noticed any of her problems if not for them, and I probably never would have hung out with her as much as I did before her accident. Im happy i got to hang around with her just in time, and it was all thanks to them.
So thank you, MCR, you pulled me closer to a lot of my family, and all those memories revolving around your music will never be forgotten, thank you so much for just being there through your music.
