Me: "Damn people are REALLY BAD at knowing when to tag their eyestrain art/images...either that or they just don't care about photosenitive epileptic people like me. I feel really sad now." Person: "But Allison, what if they just don't know or understand what qualifies as eyestrain and what doesn't?" Me: "You know what? That could be a factor...While it is always better to be safe rather than sorry (so YES people should always tag eyestrain even if they're unsure if it "counts" or not) maybe you've got a point?"
Anyways! HERE'S YOUR HANDY GUIDE TO WHAT CAN COUNT AS EYESTRAIN! I'm pulling this straight from the Artfight rules page about what needs to be labeled and filtered as eyestrain because it's VERY helpful and VERY accurate! I also know not everybody has an AF account and might not always have access to this handy guide, and this is an important resource; That's why I'm sharing it here! (under the cut)
PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!!! THIS IS ABOUT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OTHERS!!!
[ID:
first image: a table detailing what visuals need/don't need filtering for eyestrain or flashing.
Needs Filtering:
Large amounts of blight colors, including backgrounds
high contrast bright colors
chromic aberration
optical illusions
fast-flashing or bright animation
intense glowing effects
Doesn't need Filtering:
small amounts of bright colors
slow flashing animation (under 3/sec)
minor glowing effects
end first image description.
second image:
example drawings to show what these things look like. each is a nearly featureless humanoid shape in grey, with the relevant thing added to it.
Small amounts of bright colors: a patch of highly saturated pink/cyan each covers the area of one foot and one hand.
high contrast bright colors: the torso of the figure is covered in stripes of various different highly saturated colors.
bright/neon background: a bright pink rectangular area wider than the figure and about half as high is set as a background to the figure.
chromatic aberration/glitch effect: the outlines of the figure have an additional, irregular outline in bright pink and cyan, creating a glitch effect.
intense glow: the face and chest area of the figure ar colored bright cyan, with a white center in heart/eyes, creating a glow effect.
clashing patterns & optical illusions: one leg of the figure is covered in a chessboard pattern, mith the white being alternatingly replaced with bright cyan and bright green.

Suddenly thinking to draw a step by step of the candy apple headband…
Just for fun though (and maybe as personal journaling) because I’m sure other people know easier way to make it 😂
✊✋✌️
Made this for cf22 trade 😂

Experience walking around all day check! ✅
My body is all tired from being dragged around by the sea of people 😭 though maybe not as tired as handling in booth all day
Photos of cosplay prop I did for my friend literally the day before the event. I already cut out the foam before moving to stay in my other friend’s place so I only needed to check her head measurement for the headband, cut up some parts of the apples to make them look like apples, and wrestle with glue to form up the whole thing. My friend did the red and white paint and put up the ribbons and so we did it right on time for the event, the apples are surprisingly sturdy too even managed to hit other people who impatiently pushed at her…. An achievement to be proud of I think 😂
……I kept clowning myself because this is the first time I cosplayed and I forgot to take a pic for memories o(—-(
Made a white lily out of felt fabrics for other friend who cosplayed as Elder Fairy while boothing (also forgot to take picture of the finished flower) 🤣 we ended up exchanging white lilies but sadly I lost mine when I walked around the venue
Today aaaaaaa
Too many clowns here me included
Finally finished the Beasts part so this is now complete yay \o/
Only need to print before I can bring them for cf22 trade/freebie o(—(

I love this post because the replies are like "for anyone who doesn't know what nestle did, they benefited from [insert human rights violation here]" but nestle has done SO many fucked up things you get a different topic in every comment
Nestle has:
Drained water from places suffering from drought for absolute pennies.
Made African mothers dependent on their milk formula, which they gave for free, until their milk dried up. Then they required them to purchase it, mothers could not afford it, mixed in too little to fulfill nutrient needs, and mixed it with polluted water. Children died.
Used slavery to produce their cocoa.
Pushed for water to be considered a “want” not a “need” and is at the forefront of arguments that water is not a human right.
Poisoned Chinese infants with melamine in their milk formula.
Demanded Ethiopia pay a debt owed to Nestle, during a FAMINE.
Price-fixed food items.
Contributed to deforestation for their cocoa farming.
The worst thing is, Nestle owns TONS of other brands, making it difficult to avoid for certain products.
Nestlé is LITERALLY the largest food company in the world and have one of the worst track records. Pls avoid their products if you can
Flint, Michigan
They looooove draining springs and then hopping onto the next one.
They are diabolical.
They have an entire page on Wikipedia just for the problems they've caused.
It seems like they know people are trying to boycott them and are trying to avoid advertising a brand is theirs as much as they legally can get away with on the packaging.
