LEOPARD TUTORIAL You Will Need:  Three colors (one preferably black) and a dotting tool (or you can you a blunt toothpick, round ended needle or brush)

Paint your base color with Color 1.

Use Color 2 to paint random blobs over each nail. It doesn't have to be perfect; I used the nail polish brush for these blobs!

Using your tool of choice, use Color 3 (preferably black) to dot blobby lines (sorta caterpillar-like) around one side of the Color 2 blobs in the shape of the letter 'c' or 'u'.

Complete the other side of the Color 2 blobs with a dot or more blobby lines!

Fill in the empty spaces with dots between the leopard.

Top off with topcoat~

Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed ($10.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) This is a beautiful emerald green jelly loaded with green glitter and flakies that shift orange and green! I love the bottle shape, and this applies/dries wonderfully~ IN A NUTSHELL

Color Mates Paparazzi (3/$2.00 for 0.47 fl. oz.)

What a steal right! I saw a three pack of these Color Mates polishes for only $2 at Big Lots. This one was what I was most excited about. It's a pretty magenta jelly sparsely filled with holo and iridescent glitter. One coat was only necessary, but I used two for full coverage. It is seriously SO pretty...it reflects blue, green and so many other colors! 

The only downside of this is that it is extremely gritty...so you'll need an excellent top coat.

Color Club Sparkle and Soar ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) This beautiful polish is unlike any in my collection! Sparkle and Soar is a part of Color Club's Summer 2012 Take Wing collection and is a orange polish with major glass flecks that reflect gold. I don't have many oranges, but this one quite special~ 

It's got great application and dry time, and takes about two coats

NEEDLE DRAG TUTORIAL

You will need: two or more polishes and a needle!  WARNING: Needing dragging is difficult to master, even I take several tries per nail. I recommend using polishes that aren’t too runny, and don’t dry too fast. You will need to look over this tutorial and know the steps because you need to work fast and have a steady hand, or the polish will dry, making it difficult to drag.

Paint your base color, wait until it dries completely. Once dry, paint a small diagonal of Color 1. When paint diagonals, make sure to use polish generously.  

Use Color 2 and paint a second diagonal above Color 1.  

Continue painting diagonals, alternating colors. Don’t worry if your polishes start to run off your nail bed…and remember to use an ample amount of polish!  

You can leave your nail polish running off your nail, but I like to wipe it off real fast so I can avoid a lot of clean up. Quickly use your needle and drag the tip on the surface of the polish lightly using the paths shown. Start at the dot, and follow to the arrow.   

As you can see, the results are beautiful! But I got a bit of balding from the sharp tip of the needle near my cuticle. To avoid this, use the needle to dab a bit of Color 1 back into the tiny bald spots.  

Clean up with a brush and acetone, top with topcoat and you’re good to go!

If you don’t have a needle, good alternatives are safety pins, a tiny brush dipped in acetone or toothpicks. I’ve personally never used a toothpick, but I hear it works just as well. Remember, you need to work quickly or you may not achieve the same results!

Hello! I've really gotten into painting my nails lately, but painting them a lot now I notice that my nails are starting to peel/get weaker :( What do you do to keep your nails strong and healthy? Any product recommendations? or perhaps DIY solutions? thanks!!

Hi! Sorry it took me a while to reply to you ): I totally understand that your nails are getting weak! I make sure to let my nails breath once in a while, but my nails are naturally strong. I've heard amazing things about products like Duri Rejuvacote or Nail Magic! As for DIY solutions, a friend of mine posted this on FB a while back, but I'm not too sure about whose picture it is, so I can't give credit! EASY ZIG-ZAGS TUTORIAL!

You will need: several nail polishes, a plastic baggie, pinking scissors (zig-zag), and an X-acto knife OR cuticle nippers.  

Take your colors and paint tiny rectangles onto your plastic baggie (don’t paint your base nail polish color).  

Wait 24 hours (I like to wait until it’s completely dry! If not, it may be difficult to peel off) and peel the rectangles off the baggie.  

Use your pinking scissors and cut off the end of the rectangle, and cut out zig-zags that are uniform in width and make sure the zig-zags are parallel.  

Paint your base color on your nails; do one hand at a time!  

Place zig-zags onto each nail while the nail polish SLIGHTLY tacky, but not completely wet. Press each zig-zag down and into the sides of your nail.  

Cut off excess zig-zag with either an X-acto knife (carefully) OR a cuticle nipper (definitely much more safe).  

Press down each zig-zag to make sure they lay flat, and top off with a top coat! I recommend Seche Vite (:  

Clean up cuticles and you’re done! Good luck!  These are super fun and easy to do! Please tag me in your creations! Can’t wait to see how you do~

Funky Fingers Tinsel Town ($2.00 or 3/$5.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.)

Oooooookay. This is easily one of my favorite polishes. It may not have a linear holo, but Tinsel Town is packed packed packed with holographic glittery goodness. Once applied, you seriously cannot stop staring!

I bought this from my local Five Below, whom carry a variety of other polishes I can’t find elsewhere…plus it’s cheap! This may be from their Christmas line, but I’d wear this anyday!

Funky Fingers Tinsel Town is a bright jelly emerald green with a hint of teal and holographic glitter everywhere! It took three coats to become opaque, and is a bit gritty, but two coats of Seche Vite makes it the smoothest polish on your fingernails. It dries particularly fast and is rainbow-y at absolutely every angle. Surprisingly, removal wasn’t too much of a hassle, but still a bit difficult. If this polish isn’t a part of your collection, you NEED to get it now!
