TJ thought for a minute before nodding. “Yeah, kind of. But please don’t use superglue, then you’ll come in with a whole new set of problems.” It had happened more than once, why people couldn’t follow such simple instructions she would never understand. “You can get it wet but avoid direct contact for extended amount of time, say in a shower no more than ten minutes or so with direct contact to the wound, otherwise it’ll weaken and may fall off. Basically, if you feel it and it’s starting to feel like it’s frayed or starting to peel off, it’s time to dry off which should be done gently with patting rather than rubbing it.”
As she had talked, TJ had been looking at the girl, her eyes taking in her appearance to make sure she couldn’t see any serious injuries. Of course, it was impossible to tell without a patient coming out and saying what happened but the odds of that were fairly slim to nill since most athletes went out of their way to avoid help. She knew it all too well. No, she was seeing nothing on the outside, save for the leg and she knew that was fairly benign. “Also, I know it’ll be tempting, but try and avoid touching or picking at it too much” she added and nodded again, offering her a gentle smile. “You’ll be just fine” she said nodding at her.
“Don’t worry I wouldn’t.” She said, making a face, grossed out by the idea of doing even the proper liquid stitches let alone going in on herself with glue. Sach wanted to forget the whole thing. “Right, okay, no baths for two weeks then.” She said with a light laugh, though she really would miss the baths. There was nothing better after a long day of practice when your muscles wanted nothing but to relax. She had all the trappings, bath salts, bubble bath, bath bombs, soap flowers, whatever she could find.
Sacha grimaced at the warning, but nodded along in understanding. She decided to put a band aid on it once she got home, so she didn’t even have the option to pick it open. “Do you think it’ll scar?” She asked, hoping to avoid an ugly mark she’d have to cover up with make up for competitions or showcases. Sacha turned and let her legs hang off the bed, stretching the cut one out and bending it again to test how it felt and whether the liquid stitches would make it uncomfortable, but it felt mostly okay and useable. “Thank you.”
