⋆ Long Live The Black Parade: Ray's subplot (LATAM ver.)
— Since i've seen some people wondering what has lltbp! Ray been up to and how much he has been reconditioned, i've made it my job to make a compilation focusing on him, both facts and a little theorizing. This one focuses on the Latinoamerican tour but I will also make a NA, Asia and Europe one eventually.
⋆ Lore overview.
— For this leg, the band is at the MOAT, which works as a mental hospital, or maybe a laboratory. The story could be a prequel to the NA shows, or what happens between those shows, or both, but this is still not confirmed to date. They are being imprisoned and brainwashed, reconditioned.
Rule #62 of MOAT states "Those prisoners with odd numbers will remain in solitary confinement for the first half of the month, prisoners with even numbers will remain in solitary confinement for the last half of the month." Ray has an even number, meaning he's been in solitary confinement for the first three shows (Perú and Chile) and out of it for the rest of the leg (Argentina, Brasil, Colombia and México).

There are three main bits he participates in: the pills, the picture and the ending.
⋆ The pills.
— While the National Anthem of Draag plays, the band walks in on the stage and they line up to take the pills they are given by The Clerk.
For the first shows, Ray walks in normally like the rest, just mildly confused. He takes the pills without protest and gets to his position.

However, by Chile night 2, he can already be seen limping. The limping gets worse in Argentina, Brasil and Colombia —he is no longer in solitary confinement here— where he is already doing it when he walks in. He also seems more disoriented, even tries to check on Frank like wondering if he's the only one hurt, but gets startled by the alarm. He even falls to the ground!! He still takes the pills, but he looks disgusted by them.

⋆ The picture.
— The sphere on stage turns out to be an eyeball monitoring their actions. It takes a picture to confirm they're following instructions.
Again, on the first shows Ray was confused, even scared, stopping Gerard from touching the sphere and staying very close to him.

On the next shows, he seems more aware of what's going to happen and waits for it in position. On Brasil night 2, he hides behind his guitar.

⋆ The ending
— There's not much to say about this one. Him and Gerard are the last ones on stage for The End and they get carried away by staff.
The main difference is how his injury gets even worse with time. In Perú, he starts limping by the end of the show, he can still walk and turns around to check on Gerard, even trying to reach for them. In chile, the limping worsens, but he still turns around.

By the last shows, where he's already limping when he walks in, he can barely stand by himself, he falls on the soldier and can't walk unless being carried.

⋆ (My) Conclusion.
— During the NA shows, Ray is given a red sash which many interpret as him being a medic, and if you interpret the Latam shows as a prequel it makes sense that he was made a medic, he's constantly checking on the others despite being hurt himself, and he's very obedient, maybe he was given a higher position as a reward for it.
But the thing is, he's always the closest to Gerard. They share a confinement schedule, they share the left stage, and Ray is mostly protective of him. Obviously, Gerard is the one getting the worst part of the reconditioning, but I'd dare to say Ray is the one that follows, maybe as punishment for their closeness, since Gerard is the one that makes him turn against the staff and defy them on the NA shows. I think the MOAT is trying —and failing— to prevent this by punishing him physically every time they see him close to Gerard, because his injury gets worse when he's out of solitary confinement. In the México shows, Gerard calls Sylvia the head nurse and says "she never hits us, I swear" so it's likely that she's the one punishing Ray.
