CLOSED STARTER FOR @sacredbyparkinsonâ
{ SECRETS HIDDEN, SECRETS TOLD }
Date: 8th November, 2020
Setting: Following Terry and Pansyâs correspondence for a private meeting, Pansy is invited to 26 Lattimer Place, Chiswick, for afternoon tea.
The doorbell rings, it is sharp, tinny and grating. Even when heâs expecting guests, itâs an unsettling sound that makes him reach for his wand. Guests are rarely welcomed at 26 Lattimer Place. Terry would never open his home for a meeting, social or professional under normal circumstances, but Parkinson Manor was too risky for conversation about a suspected Puritan and anywhere else too public. His relationship with Pansy Parkinson is one built on mutual understanding, for her he would allow it. His home sits secluded away from the hustle and bustle of the city in the affluent suburbs of Muggle London, primarily chosen for itâs privacy and view of the Thames. A privacy that benefited him over the years, and now Pansy, greatly.
Terry snaps shut the newest edition of Snape: Saint or Scoundrel by Rita Skeeter and shoos Ares, his orange tabby off of his lap who scowls at him immediately. âSorry, mate.â He mutters, straightening his blue shirt to make himself presentable. With a flick of his wand his home is tidied, not that it was in disarray before. The patterned pillows on his brown leather couch are simply puffed and straightened; various books littered across his home are returned to a tall dark mahogany bookcase that sits against an emerald green accent wall; the stray cat toy under the coffee table is ushered to itâs rightful place; a scented candle placed on his coffee table is lit. Terry Bootâs 2-bedroom townhouse is humble compared to the grandeur and size of Parkinson Manor, but itâs carefully curated to be a place of reflection and relaxation for Terry. Â
Terry opens the door with a small smile, âMs Parkinson.â Ares is behind him, peering inquisitively at the woman at the door. âCome in.â he says, relegating her to his living room. Terry steps out of the door momentarily, checking to see if sheâs been followed by any overly ambitious reporter, and then turns to meet her inside. âSo, tea?âÂ
Even with Dracoâs late night reassurances tucked away in the back of her mind Pansy considers cancelling her meeting with one Terrence Boot all the way up to the moment she rings his door bell. It would be so simple to plead a sudden conflict; her life has hardly been calm or predictable even during the best of times and these present times were worse than most. One quick owl - Iâm terribly sorry Mr. Boot I wonât be able to make it - followed by indefinite delays until she can find a way to sort out her fatherâs lingering affairs and return to her life in France and she might never even have to see him again at all. It could be so simple - if only any of this was simple. If only she could see another way out that didnât leave her familyâs name in tatters and a new layer of tarnish layered over her already spotty reputation. Or even if there wasnât another way... Pansy could have borne those consequences, she had once before already, if it was only her future they would touch. But Pansy Parkinson wasnât a girl with only her personal prospects resting on her shoulders anymore - so instead of fleeing Bootâs doorstep she held her head high and reached out to press her finger against the muggle contraption that she knew from, admittedly limited, experience would announce her arrival.
Pansy doesnât have to wait long for her host to appear - prompt and well dressed as always - to quickly usher inside his home. Pansy runs her eyes around the room taking it in as Terrence disappears for a moment doing what she assumes is a quick and entirely welcome security check. If Pansy had been of a mind to form any expectations about Terrenceâs home the space would have met them at least at a cursory glance - it is well organized and his bookshelves lack the telltale dust that always marked her fatherâs books as more ornamental than anything else. The only surprise is a small orange cat that stands a few feet away regarding her with a curious gaze that she returns until its master returns to the room and pulls both sets of eyes back to him.Â
All clear? Pansy nearly asks but instead she takes a deep breath and meets her hostâs eyes searching them for any sign of fresh trouble for a moment before nodding. âAh yes, tea sounds would be lovely, thank you.âÂ

9. best thing in their life?
Her success with Sacred Designs is the best thing in Pansyâs life. The work itself is rewarding - Pansy loves designing and crafting her designs and she pours a lot of herself into her work - but it is the success and wealth that has sprung from her business that makes it possible for her to live the life she does. Basically if Sacred hadnât taken off or failed to bring the financial stability, and then some, that it did then Pansy would have been back to plan A which was, of course, to seek out an advantageous, which does not necessarily mean happy, marriage which would have likely led to her spending more time supporting her husband in his endeavors and raising a family than being able to focus on her own art and business. Sacredâs success and the wealth/status it brought in its wake transformed Pansyâs life by giving her the freedom to truly put herself first. Which isnât to say that Pansyâs joy in that success has been entirely selfish- her wealth makes it so that she can shower her close friends with gifts and be there for them if anything goes wrong. It means that she can give her daughter the life that she herself longed for as a child - living in utter luxury and wanting for nothing (well except perhaps for her parentsâ love but Pansy hasnât quite gotten to the point where she realizes how much the loss/lack of that impacted her childhood as much as her familyâs financial struggles).Â
31. are they a morning person or night person?
Both? I guess technically sheâs a night person more than a day person. When Pansy is particularly upset or inspired she doesnât really sleep at night and will be up through the early morning hours either wandering about listlessly or working frantically depending on her mood. Once she finally crashes, usually not too long after the sun rises, woe to those who would wake her.Â
33. who is their ride or die friend?
Absolutely Draco. Pansy has few friends that she truly trusts and none she trusts as utterly as she does Draco. Despite the physical distance, and literal strip of ocean, that formed between them following their school years Pansyâs devotion and regard for her first and dearest friend has been a constant in her life since her girlhood. Although her early desire for more romantically intimate relationship with him came to naught, largely due to his assumed disinterest and the way she was raised to hide the depth of certain feelings in order to protect herself from rejection/disappointment, Draco has remained one of the most important people in Pansyâs life. He was the first person she was willing to put herself on the line to protect and remains the person she goes to or writes when she is up at night feeling anxious and unsure of herself. Simply put he is her best friend and anchor and Pansy cannot imagine her life without Draco/their friendship in it.Â

Calling the signage âsubtleâ was a very polite way of saying that it was practically falling apart and wouldâve probably long ago done so if not for the thick roots of vegetation holding it together. It was a far cry from French cafes and restaurants, though Viktor was hardly complaining. After all, privacy was much more important and he was disappointed to hear reporters didnât seem to respect Maelleâs. âThatâs terrible.â He frowned. He wasnât exactly unfamiliar with rude and stubborn reporters, but that didnât mean he would ever get used to their audacity. âCan they do that? Is it legal to camp in front of your property?â And if it was, it certainly shouldnât have been.
âIâm alright,â he said in response to her question, shrugging lightly. âNothing new or exciting, but to be honest, I donât want any excitement after what happened on Harry Potter Day. I was more worried about you, with the funeral and the raid⊠and now the reporters. How are you feeling?â
.
Although Pansy did not, could not, truly regret where sheâd come from she had to admit that Viktorâs earnest and open manner had become a balm to her over the years. Sheâd lived most of her life in various serpentsâ dens - first among the venomous landscape of her parentsâ acrimonious marriage and pureblood society, secondly among her ambitious fellows at school, and thirdly in the more subtle but just as fierce world of French high society - and she could slither along with the best of them but every so often it was nice to let her mask slip. Admittedly, it had taken her quite some time to accept Viktorâs kindness and lack of expectations as genuine but once she had a true friendship had bloomed between them. Terrible. He said and her mind slipped back to the way the press had received even something as innocent as that friendship by splashing stolen pictures of them in cafes and at quidditch matches across their pages and speculating that perhaps the reason behind his erstwhile divorce had a name that rhymed with handsy.Â
Pansy couldnât help but snort at his question, âIs it legal? Merlin who knows but given that it was an infestation of Aurors that stirred them up in the first place...â She spread her hands and shrugged flippantly despite the frustration coloring her tone her meaning obvious. Even if it was illegal who was going to come and run the pesks off the edges of Parkinson land? Certainly not the Aurors who had made her dance and jump through hoops for an entire night before finally leaving her in relative peace. Her gaze softened as he went on to answer her questions and query her welfare in turn. Already she regretted her sharpish reply to his response to her press problems though she knew that after so many years he had to be used to the way her manner skewed to sharpness. Certainly she understood his desire for quiet, between the incident on Harry Potter Day and her own personal troubles she too had fully tired of âexcitementâ. Even now she could still feel the echoes of panic that had spread through the crowds in Hogsmeade echoing another evening many years past that had found her fleeing the same village. Just the memory made her head ache and she pressed a hand to her forehead fingers massaging along her brow for a moment before she mustered up an answer.
âExhausted to be honest. It feels as though ever since Iâve come back its just one thing after the other. I miss France but thereâs far too much to be done here before I can consider going back for any length of time.âÂ

Draco,
I hope you, and Astoria to whom I send my love, will forgive me for writing so late. I... you know how I told you I was looking into finding someone to help with the scrutiny on Parkinson Manor right now? Well I was in France for a quick visit with M, who also sends her love and somewhat excessive thanks for your latest present, and I had an idea... Iâm just not sure its a good one. M is still asking about T, not that she knows him as that or as anything else but a mystery sheâs suddenly sank her little teeth into, and also about where I have been and if she will ever be able to visit and it just.. do you think I should tell him? Ever since the funeral Iâve felt like I should tell him but I also feel like he might curse me into next year if I do, especially given recent circumstances. What do you think?

Boot Terrence,
I too regret the circumstances, however, there is nothing to forgive. I know especially given the dismal state of the Ministry in general that you are a very busy man and I can hardly blame you for having more pressing matters on your mind than the troubles of an old fling acquaintance. My father was probably more guilty than you might think would be so pleased to know that you hold him in high regard even after his passing. He was a complicated man but he was always very fond of you.Â
Of course I expect no promises of aid, just your guidance would be welcome. I agree that privacy is of utmost importance. Which regarding the matter of privacy, I have been having a problem with press crowding the gates here at the manor. I can send you a portkey to bypass them if you would be amenable to that? Otherwise I would be open to a location of your choosing so long as it was appropriately private as there are things that should not be discussed even in the most discrete of public locations.Â
Awaiting your reply,
Pansy M. ParkinsonÂ
Ms. Parkinson,
Then we shall meet somewhere truly private. With the press stationed outside the manor, I would like to extend my own residence as an option. Chiswick is accessible by the Floo Network, or else I can send a portkey for your utmost convenience. Do let me know if this works for you. Otherwise, Iâm happy to take tea at the Parkinson Manor.Â
Regards,
Terry Boot.
*A few hours pass before her final answer arrives.*
Terrence,
I appreciate your understanding and will take you up on your offer of tea at Chiswick. The Floo will be fine, what time should I plan to arrive?Â

Dated: A few days after the raid on Parkinson Manor
Ms Pansy Maelle Parkinson,
I regret to receive your letter under such unfortunate circumstances. I was made aware of your situation shortly after the raid was conducted and meant to write to you sooner. Forgive me for my delay; days within the Ministry are long and never-ending. William was a brilliant yet persistent man, and I cannot believe him to be guilty of the charges pressed against his name.
I may be able to aid you. It is best to speak on the details of this matter in a private setting. I am available for tea on Saturday afternoon at a location of your choosing.Â
Regards,
Terrence Aloysius Boot.

NAME: Pansy Maelle Parkinson
AGE: 41 (26 October, 1979)
GENDER: Female (she/her)
SPECIES: Wix, Pureblood (Sacred 28)
OCCUPATION: Owner and Head Designer of her own fashion brand Sacred
ALLEGIANCES: Neutral.
Pansy Parkinson has been called many things throughout her life. Â To her victims at Hogwarts, she was a bitch, a bully, a bigot. To her housemates, she was an upstart, a force to be reckoned with, a princess. To many veterans of the Battle of Hogwarts, on either side, she was a coward, a runaway, a traitor. In France, she was a curiosity, a scandal, a trendsetter. But for all the people that know of Pansy Parkinson few people truly knew her while she was in school and fewer still truly know the woman who she has become in the years since she fled the land of her birth and flourished on foreign soil and many altogether forget that there are many sides to any story. Itâs true that in school she was cruel, caustic, and domineering but it is also true that she was a privately insecure often frightened young girl who stood loyal to the few people she allowed herself to get truly close to. She was bigoted, prejudiced, and willing to sacrifice people she did not care about to make an end to the war and to the threat that hung over people she did love. She did flee the battle and the country to save her own skin and to work towards a brighter future for herself instead of staying to devote herself to a fight that she felt did not belong to her, but all the while she kept her door open to those she loved offering a refuge from the fallout that followed the war. Pansy started over in France slowly easing her grip on much of the ideals she had so fervently espoused during her Hogwarts years and while she never stopped grasping upwards ever focused on building an empire of success and safety above all else she found in time that there was something to be gained in extending opportunities to take part in that empire to others who proved themselves deserving. Now that Pansy has been drawn back to England only to find it on the brink of an all too familiar turmoil, it remains to be seen is what that will mean for her. Despite the eerie feeling of deja vu hanging over her head and the familiar forces of thorny pride and precarious family legacy at play, Pansy is now a woman grown and changed in many ways who has found herself once more poised on a precipice with conflict raging all around her only this time she has much more to lose and nowhere left to run.Â
PANSY PARKINSONÂ is TAKEN. This character is written by SARAH, and played with KATIE MCGRATH.
What/Who: Owls between Pansy Parkinson & @magicterrence
Dated: A few days after the raid on Parkinson Manor
Terry Terrence,
I apologize for not writing sooner after the funeral as I told you I would. I fully intended to but as you may know circumstances beyond my control have made the past week rather hectic. Which brings me to another matter - I am sure you must have heard tell of the raid on Parkinson Manor which was carried out under a warrant bearing my late fatherâs name despite the fact that, obviously, he is no longer the legal owner of the property. I was able to press through the apparent disregard for this fact in order to earn an end to that particular raid but I find myself worrying wondering if they will be back or if I should even bother seeking recourse for the damages they have already caused given the apparent attitude they displayed towards the Parkinson family as a whole during the raid. I am sorry to drop this matter in your lap but it seemed best to reach out to you rather than going through other channels given your position and our familiarity as well as my dual citizenship. Have you heard any whispers in the Ministry that they are going to press the matter further? Would you still be amenable to meeting for tea sometime soon? There is much that I need to tell you I believe we should talk about.
- Pansy M. Parkinson
magicterrenceâ:
âWell, your father certainly seems to think so.â Terry hisses back, he ego is slightly bruised by her comment. Still raw from his unpleasant divorce, Terryâs sensitive about this part of his life, but he wasnât going to explain that to her. âNevertheless, iâm not interested.â he quietly adds, just before William approaches the pair, smiling like a cheshire cat to confirm that dinner is served. âAh, fantastic. Iâm famished.â Terry says, before starting in the direction of the dining room, leaving father and daughter to the own devices.
Time-jump! Continued after the dance sequence, Terry finds himself in the Parkinson Manor gardens enjoying a solitary smoke.
Heâd been here long enough as obligatorily required, and Terry was looking to make his escape. After been pushed towards Pansy time and time again by her father, he needed a break. Stepping out into the gardens, the a cool november breeze blows past Terry making him itch for a smoke. He sits on a stone bench with vines creeping at itâs sides with a perfect view of the dinner party inside. He watches on as William Parkinson greets and entertains his guest, ever so often doing a sweep of the ballroom looking intently for somebody. Terry presumes itâs him, and is entertained.
Terry lights a cigarette and takes a drag, his mind running through all the possible excuses in his head for why heâd have to leave Williamâs dinner party âso early.â He senses the presence of another approaching in his direction, he looks up to see none other than Pansy. He thought this manor was big enough for the both of them to never meet, yet here they are. He takes another drag, âIf your father didnât own the property, I would have accused you of stalking me.â Terry offers her a cigarette, arm outstretched, âSmoke?â
Despite way theyâd left their brief conversation, Pansy found herself almost longing for Terryâs company during dinner. Though she certainly did not want to marry him - nor him her apparently - she could at least appreciate his wit. It took her almost two courses - far too long in her opinion why was she feeling so foggy lately? - to realize that the unexpected feeling was at least partly of her fatherâs design, willed into existence by a seating chart that left her stranded next to a widowed Selwyn man who tried not once but twice to surreptitiously touch her neck as they conversed. He also quite happily informed her that his late wife had been a Rosier and heâd found her bonny enough that he was hoping to find a second wife hailing from the same bloodline. Pansy counted down the courses until dinnerâs end and wondered if his wife had died of boredom or disgust. When the music started heâd began to wax on about the musicians heâd had at his last gala and looked to be on the verge of insisting she dance with him when Terry had stepped in and saved her from that indignity.Â
After the dance she lost sight of Terry and apparently her father did as well since he appeared before long entreating her to check on - read track down - his missing guest. Pansy assured her father that she would do so and turned with no intention to do so deciding instead to escape into the gardens for a quick smoke only to find the man almost immediately. âYou know I could say much the same to you,â she replied pulling a cigarette of her own from her sleeve and holding it up as a silent explanation for her presence before lighting it and taking a drag,âI have a preference, but thank you all the same. I suppose I should let you know that I am meant to be stalking you... or at least tracking you down.â She gestures towards the party as she continues,âOur dear doting host has noticed your absence already.â

History Doesnât Repeat Itself but it Does Rhyme || Pansy & Terrence Where: William Parkinsonâs funeral / Parkinson Manor When: 25 October 2020Â
âPansy.â He greets her with a soft smile and with a white bouquet of flowers in hand. âIâd say it must be fate,â He chooses words with such care, typically. He thought his choice was careful enough, neither ceding to what they had nor drawing attention to it. ââŠbut your father is quite the contender. Perhaps both.â William Parkinson had brought them together in life, and he continues to do so in death. âMy sincere condolences.â The words fall instinctively out his mouth, âYour father was a titan in the Department of International Magical Department, and we all mourn his loss.â Terryâs relationship with William was complicated at best. William wasnât particularly skilled in the art of strategy and diplomacy, but when push came to shove he took matters in stride, making them bend to will. As a young rising star, Terry often looked up to Williamâs victories and looked down upon his mistakes to avoid falling down the same pit. Heâd never admit it, but William Parkinson had quite the role in shaping Terry as he stands here today. He delicately offers the flowers to Pansy, âThese are for you and your family. â
Ah yes... was it fate or William Parkinson? Once Pansy might have scoffed at such a sentiment but since sheâd become privy to the paper trail of influence and favors her father had left behind her opinions of him had began to shift in unexpected directions. Pansy found herself in agreement with Terryâs final assessment - perhaps both. Definitely a bit of both she decided privately as she considered the links between them that neither her father nor Terry knew in their entirety. Pansy inclined her head as Terry offered his condolences and was surprised to find a small smile forming on her lips as he spoke of her father as a titan. âThank you, I know that would mean so much to him especially coming from you,â she said earnestly,âYou made quite the lasting impression on him, you know? He never did stop mentioning you in his letters.â She takes the flowers from his hands looking at them with polite appreciation as his words echo in her ears. For you and your family. She has so little family now and few of them are here today - the Malfoys are, of course, and they are as good as blood to her after all this time but her motherâs family had somewhat distanced themselves from her father after Dahliaâs death. She thinks of a little girl with dark hair and bright blue eyes and resolves to preserve the flowers to send to her. Belatedly she realizes sheâs been staring between the flowers and her guest and she pulls herself out of her reverie - âThese are lovely.âÂ

A lesser-known cafe on Spindrift Lane | Viktor Krum & Pansy Parkinson
4th of November, 2020
closed starter for @sacredbyparkinsonâ
Viktor had attended the funeral, of course, but he wanted Maelle to know she had his support even after the rest of the world had looked away. He rarely initiated such meetings, but for friends, he would gladly make exceptions and so he found himself sat at a small table in a similarly small cafe on Spindrift Lane. It was better to meet in such a place, though, than any of the glamorous, more popular spots in Wizarding London; Viktor doubted Maelle needed a repeat of all the French rumours, especially at a time like this, and to be honest, neither did he.
âMaelle, thank you for coming. You look lovely.â His smile came much easier than it usually did; despite the circumstances of the meeting, itâd been a while since theyâd seen each other and Viktor had to admit heâd missed their conversations. âDid you have any problems finding this cafe? I got lost twice, but, well, Iâm not too good with directions so that doesnât say much.â
In stark contrast to the listlessness that had followed her fatherâs death Pansy found herself overflowing with anxious energy in the wake of the Ministryâs raid on her home. Sheâd done her best to burn it off - surveying and documenting the damage theyâd done to the Manor and raging to Draco but she could not seem to shake it entirely. She wanted to do something... to fight back somehow but she was utterly aware of the dangers that lay down that path. Sheâd spent hours exhausting herself mentally as she paced on the edge between action and inaction. So when Vkitorâs owl arrived it came as an entirely welcome surprise. It had been far too long since theyâd truly talked - sheâd seen him at the funeral of course but her attention had been so divided with her hosting responsibilities then - and lunch with an old friend sounded like a delightful break to chaos that had been her life since returning to England.Â
Pansy made her way down Spindrift Lane and found Viktor at the thoughtfully discrete table heâd found for them. Hearing the name sheâd often used - among close friends and a few select strangers - in France on his lips brought an unexpected wave of calm over her and for nearly the first time since sheâd been back she felt truly comfortable.Â
âViktor, youâre too kind as always,âshe greeted warmly sliding in to a seat across from him. âAh Iâll admit it took me a little longer than I expected to find it, Iâm not as familiar with the area as I once was and the signage here is very... subtle. It was worth the trouble for a little privacy though, you know some of those reporters have actually set up tents at the Manor gates now.â She rolled her eyes irritably her lips pursing slightly as she thought of just what sheâd like to do to those tents and their inhabitants before waving her hand lightly as though shooing away such thoughts. âEnough about them though, how are you?âÂ
