Garlic Slow Roasted Leg of Lamb.
We spend so much time running around, making plans, planning for the future... we forget what moments feel like. Moments are the bittersweet things that stop us in our tracks. We become simultaneously thankful for their existence and equally grieved at their transient nature. Savor moments. Inhale deeply the moment. Be present.
SacredWeekends
Bacon and Green Onion Quiche.
For the Crust
Two Cups of organic flour (sifted)
1 stick of cold butter (cubed)
1/4 C. cold water
salt
In a food processor add flour and cold butter.
Pulse four times
Incorporate water and salt
Pulse until the dough forms into a ball (expect the butter to be the size of peas through the dough)
Press evenly into a quiche pan
For the Filling
8 eggs (depending on the size of your quiche dish)
1 cup bacon
1 cup green onions
shredded favorite hard cheese (I prefer parmigiano reggiano)
1 TBSP. fresh Italian Parsley
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 tsp salt
1.5 tsp pepper
Whisk all ingredients together
Slowly pour ingredients to fill quiche crust
Place quiche pan on a cookie sheet (trust me, this is wise for you, the quiche, and future oven cleaning)
Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit until center is set and top is golden brown.
Serve warm with a fresh salad
I believe #sacredweekends should be savored. Make your own flavored liquer. Add fresh seasonal fruit to a glass container (fill bottom or halfway) and then add vodka (no need for expensive stuff) to fill the jar. Let it sit for a few days (several weeks for some fruits) and then enjoy in your favorite mixed drink.
