Such inquiries were better satiated through action. Wordlessly, the tendrils drift closer to the inquisitive woman’s person, though they find that residing upon the table is significantly more economical for her energy. Squashed cheeks are thankful that her tongue need not dance to retort. The “child” seemed gratified by merely relaxing on their wooden separator.
‘ They are cold. ’ She warned in hands, hesitating before her lips part to recast the statement. Between her natural tongue sounding garbled to most ears, and the haughtiness that her voice unintentionally entailed, the pink “princess” harbored sheepish specks of warm scarlet in her cheeks.
A smile lights up her face. Her journal set on the table as she writes Bon’s name at the header. Notes of it’s movement and appearance are scrawled onto the page. Her handwriting fading into a sloppy state as she is too eager to simply sit here and document what she already knows. Especially with an offer like that on the table. Quite literally, too.
Dropping her pencil, and she hesitates for a moment. She’ll start, index finger first. Dragging it down the cool surface of Bon’s tentacles. What an odd sensation! Taking her finger over the suction cup. So good so far. Confident now, she’ll use the entirety of her hand. The texture is more evident now, and she speaks in an awed and EXCITED fashion. Mind currently void of their current language barrier.
“ I’ve never seen anything like it! And that's complete control over them, yes? ”

Mipha’s claws interlock with one another. Her hands are threatening to tremble and she’s sure if she were to loosen her claws then she would be left with crescent shaped indents against her hands. The Zora girl knows her place, she’s been raised to be quiet and more or less subservient to a degree. A princess must be demure, sensitive, and know when to speak.
She’s well aware of her position with the other princess. She knows her place and she knows that she should keep this to herself yet the idea of remaining silent, truly sickens her.
She thinks about saying that everything is fine.
Though perpetuating falsehoods is against her character. “My little brother,” she begins before she truly knows what she’s saying. “I,” she does her best not to falter. “My little brother hasn’t had legs for long, Zora’s growth is drastically different from Hylians, and he’s only begun to walk not too long ago but ah, he’s learning. When he first began walking I, I was so I would choose to carry him. He’d squirm and attempt to leave me but I held onto him and eventually he gave in until one day my teacher, he…He told me that in my wish to protect him and ensure that he doesn’t fall will cripple him and one day should he be fortunate enough he’ll be too big for me to carry. So I, put him down and he fell flat on his face,” she smiles fondly. “I didn’t pick him up so he stood on his own and kept walking. I was so worried of him becoming injured by falling that I…I grew distracted and forgot that if he never fell then he most likely wouldn’t be moving forward.”
Hands will rest in her lap. Eyebrows slowly drawn together as she listens to the tale of Sidon. Her smile soft, and she can hear the warmth Mipha felt for her brother through words alone. But that is not why she has been avoiding her, that much she knew. There is no harm to be had in sharing tales of one another’s families. Maybe it was just wishful thinking, but she liked to consider them FRIENDS. Enough so that their political boundaries could fall, even if only briefly.
The whole situation is putting her at unease. Was this meant to be a jibe at her own personal affairs? She wasn’t aware of anyone who’d she’d been coddling. Certainly not Link, she knew him more than capable. And this seemed to be a bit much over her desire for her Stallion, Storm’s, safety. She will wait until Mipha is done to speak. Fingers twisting, and voice gentle.
“ I assume this is not truly about Sidon... But if not that, then what? We are alone for now, please, speak freely. ”

Malon isn’t a vain girl. She feels deep pride for her horses and even more so for a successful match! The overwhelming joy Malon felt when she found a successful match for her horses gave her such a splendid feeling within her. “He’s smart. I knew he’d need somebody smart as him if not more so to be tamed properly,” she crossed her arms and admired the scene before her. “He ain’t as big as pitfire as some of ‘em but he’s a lil stubborn. I knew he’d be worth it though, I just knew it.”
The rancher nods. “I can see it, he got a brightness to his eyes and he looks real clean and neat,” she rigs in her apron for some sugar cubes to give to the princess. “Y’can tell he’s real loved,” she’s at peace. She had been afraid that maybe they would be too stubborn to get along but her instincts told her that they would be just fine. She’s glad that her belief is well founded.
Taking the sugar cubes offered, she’s quick to offer them to Storm. Who steals them from her hand without the faintest ounce of remorse. A soft laugh spills from her lips before she is giving Malon her attention again.
“ It seems I should’ve trusted your judgement. I’m just glad in all his fuss, he never bucked me. He stays in the royal stables, so he’s taken care of. Oh, but he’s a bit SPOILED, don’t you think? Sugar cubes now.. And I have a feeling my knight might be passing him one too many apples. ”
Still, there is no malice to be found in her tone. Zelda was guilty herself of passing him treats. Sometimes detouring from their destination just to stop in a small town to buy him gifts. He deserved it, smart as he is. Always knew trouble was brewing before they got too close. Stuck to trails, even ones he was unfamiliar with. It didn’t hurt that his coat was beautiful. Quick to dirty, but lovely all the same.
“ Do you have a horse of your own, Malon? I’m sure he must be beautiful. ”

Ganondorf is young enough to be reckless, but old enough to at least plan ahead. He’s only fourteen, and while the Yiga insisted his curiosity was only a phase, he was still able to sneak out and up the mountains to his lynel family’s resting grounds. His eldest sister, nightowl as she was, had eagerly agreed to give him a ride to Hyrule Castle, hiding in the nearby woods as her brother infiltrated now in this sunny afternoon.
If he is to reclaim this castle as his own, he must learn it.
The castle grounds reek of nostalgia, though he can’t place why. Perhaps it’s his past lives thrumming within him, though the sense of deja-vu is not strong enough to help him navigate. He’s small and spry enough to dodge around the guards, however, and it’s with a bitter smugness that he takes in the fact that they are relaxed.
Hyrule has entered an age of growth. A time of peace… And he will be the one to disrupt it.
He crouches against a wall to catch his breath for a moment, taking time to look around and fill out his mental map of the area. The daylight helps him see around, yes, but it will also help others see him. He must be careful, remembering his Hylian hood to flick it up now as he glances about for an opening to get inside somewhere–
His path is blocked.
Molten eyes widen at the sight of the princess (queen?) that stands before him. He had expected to be caught by a guard, maybe a servant, but not her…
The back of his hand aches faintly, though he doesn’t know why.
Knowing he’s been caught, he stands, though he keeps his hood up to avoid any curious guards identifying him.
“A hungry traveler, majesty…”
His voice is a bit raw from misuse, and he hopes it plays a part in his lie.
A traveler? All the way over her by her quarters? Oh how she doubted that. Still, this intruder is no older than a BOY. Who’s wit would prove promising if he already knew how to slip by her security. Eyes drifting off to her left as she watches them stand guard. Completely unaware what their lapse of judgement had allowed. She could only hope that the Yiga would be less cunning than him. It is a worry buried for now.
Delicate hues are close briefly. She has grown into her status of queen. And while her feats to protect the land had already made her deserving of the title, it did her well to look the part, too. Footfalls silent against concrete as she descends. Gloved hands brushing over the top of the railing. Looking at him openly now that he is closer, and yes, she is sure that this is a voe. Why that causes unease to settle in her stomach she does not know. But it cruel to turn him away over a hunch. Not when he was hungry.
The dull burning of her hand echoed old remnants of power. Why, she could not place.
“ Very well. The kitchen is not far from here, though I ask you tell me how you managed to get so far in. I’m sure you know that trespassing is strictly forbidden. But you are young, and I will pardon you this once. ”
Truth be told, she had a daughter of her own. A few years younger than him, but a child all the same. And had she wandered into forbidden territory she could only hope that someone would grant her the same pardon. Would feed her when she was hungry. Right now she only hopes that she’s not tracked down by the young princess. Not until she knew Ganon’s intentions. She steps out ahead of him, and beckons him with a wave of her hand.
“ Tell me, are you a voe? I hadn’t heard word that the Gerudo had their anomaly yet. They are well, I hope? ”

Nosiness quickly became a ROUTINE for an ever inquisitive and learning hero, Link’s eyes lit with interest as he peered over her shoulder ( from a respectable distance at least ). Though he certainly had his own experiences with brewing elixirs—— it was no specialty of his unlike his cooking. But Zelda’s elixirs, though certainly NOT divine, always exceeded his expectations and leave him stunned in his astonishment.
Tasteless? How such a simple word could dare an excited grin upon his lips! Quick were Link’s lightning reflexes as he watched the bottle slip from between her fingers and his hand shot forward to grasp the jar.
Scalding was the boiling elixir that sloshed out from the open end of the jar, spilling vivid crimson over his tunic and seeping to the bare skin beneath. Caught the wrong end of the bottle. The FLARE of pain that scorched his abdomen was enough for fingers to lax around the bottle and drop it onto the ground beneath.
OUCH!
But Zelda’s concern over his burn was certain PRIORITY over the burns inflicted by the accident. Couldn’t have her worry too much. Link gave a small reassuring ( though perhaps pained ) smile as he smoothed out his stained tunic and BORE through the lingering pain.
「I’m alright. It doesn’t even hurt.」
A lie.
Oh no. Even with the protection of glass, the bottle is still hot. Forcing her to alternate it between hands. And she had SPILLED it on him. It was mortifying. Link too considerate to tell her it had hurt, but she knew. She knew. Guilt forming in the pit of her stomach as she looks at him. Eyebrows drawn together.
“ Are you sure? ”
Seafoam hues search for reassurance. Hands twisted together in front of her chest. The air around her hot; suffocating. Go ahead, drown her in embarrassment. She was frustrated with herself for not being careful. Who doesn’t cap a fresh, boiling, elixir? Who burns their knight? The hero? An IDIOT, that’s who. One who still standing there.
Parting from him so fingers may curl around a towel, pushing it into his arms. It was the least she could do. But she needed medicine. Or at least something to take away the sting. She’ll hurry to rummage through the cupboards of their home - his home. Giving him potential 3rd degree burns probably an ideal roommate trait.
She’s already made plenty of other elixirs. An ARRAY of colors to dig through. It’s blue, and cool to the touch; frost collecting. Perhaps if she made enough of these, she could use them as a cooling agent to keep food cooler longer. Oh this wasn’t the time for that.
“ I’m really sorry. You had such a great catch! Are you okay? Do you need me to look at it? Are you okay? I don’t know what happened. It just slipped from my grasp and you - oh please tell me it’s not bad. The elixir hadn’t cooled yet, had it? ”

Link shook his head in response to the question, letting out a soft hum as he thought about it. The legendary creature on Satori Mountain was something he’d heard about, but Link hadn’t even had a chance to visit the mountain itself.
“There is one way to find out if it’s real though.” Link was always up for an adventure, and he was certain Zelda could use a small break from her duties. It’s not like the mountain was that far from the castle. They could always take a bit of detour while visiting Revali or Urbosa.
That was disappointing. If he had information on the god then she could write more on it. Didn’t seem appropriate to have such a divine being marked down as “elusive” and nothing more.
Satori was along the path to the Rito, wasn’t it? She wasn’t meant to keep up with the divine beast, but keeping up with Revali was her job. His personality was bold. A little full of himself, but for good reason. A hand to her chin, and her debate is quiet. She agrees with a smile.
“ I’ll ask my father if we can pay a visit to Revali. Even if there is no mystical beast, it could be a good place to pray, don’t you think? ”
milkmxid:
He’s magnificent. The dear heart had appeared truly splendid to her before when he had been but a colt with a pair of wiry legs and unbalanced stance. Malon’s pleased that her pick suits the princess, she had a feeling deep within her heart that he would be the perfect horse for her. “Oh I’m so glad, milady!” she chirps cheerfully. “I knew he was a stubborn one,” but only a spirited horse would do for such a daring princess.
Malon’s a good judge of people and character. Acting as a matchmaker between horse and rider is a talent she’s picked up. “But I had a feelin’ I had a feelin’ if he had the right rider he’d be perfect for you,” she nods happily.
A stubborn spirit she had grown to love. There was no training her, only learning to reason with him. Compromise. It had frustrated her before. Beyond reason, even. But her knight had a way with the beast. Gave them common ground to communicate on. Now the stallion was another friend to add to her growing list.
“ I wasn’t so sure at first. I had intentions of giving him back. Had a mind of his own, has a mind of his own. But we understand each other now. ”
She smiles, brushing her fingers through his mane. Down his snout. It was hard to imagine that only a fews ago she could hardly stand him.
“ We make a perfect pair. ”

Years had passed since calamity. And with each day, its scars grew fainter. Children, so many children, knew not of the force that once haunted her castle. A once looming threat now lingered in fairytales. Exaggerations they would assume. She was okay with that.
Chin resting in her palm as she looks at the town below. Humming with new life. People had been scared of coming back, but she convinced them, one at a time. She could name the residents of each home. Starting from the outskirts of town, she’ll work her way in. Stopping only once she catches movement within her walls. Too early for the guard change. And flicks of red clash against castle stones.
Footsteps soft as she descends from her stairs. Who was this man? This VOE? Her voice is soft. Possess a certain kind of calm. Though it spoke volumes of her authority. A question, but she expected an answer.
“ Excuse me? Who are you? ”
ancient-wishes:
“Hm?”
Tapered ears suddenly lifted upon hearing something nearby, snapping Light out of his apparent daze as he gazed at the dormant shrine further ahead. Strange, why would someone else be up here? With slight hesitance, bare feet brushed against the remains of a stone path as the relic turned around to face whoever had spoken.
If anything in these ruins was out of place, it would be him: robes weren’t exactly great in an area prone to cold temperatures. And such a bright color at that… Never the less, a hand was raised in greeting and a smile followed.
“Just a traveler is all. I’m catching my breath from walking all day.” Sort of.
Maybe it would’ve been better, wiser to have left without earning their attention. Reasons why Mt. Lanayru would still shun her for a year more. She has the sense to look at him skeptically. There was so much to take in. From his bare feet, to his robe. How he managed his way up here. Why he found any reason to gaze at a shrine that had no intentions of revealing its secrets.
“ Without shoes? ”
Skepticism clings to her words. The columns were unkept. Jagged rocks dug into her feet in spite of rocks. Her eyebrows furrow. No one had said shoes were a necessity to visit the abandoned technology. If he knew anything, then maybe he could be of help?
“ Why come up here to catch your breath? To the shrine? ”
regiisxheres:
“ I couldn’t possibly… Mipha and Ruta shared a bond I could never hope to have. Ruta was HERS TO PILOT, I could not possibly intrude on that ground. ”
“ I thought you might say that. ”
Words are spoken with disappointment. Mipha and Ruta shared a bond. The Zora had taken up to the divine beast so much quicker than she expected. But. Mipha had passed. In a terrible way to a horrendous beast. She couldn’t be the one expected to operate it, not after all she had done.
“ Mipha was no doubt and excellent at what she did. ”
Saying Ruta needed a REPLACEMENT was hard. She struggled enough to explain it to the king. And when he suggested she asked Sidon. Well.
“ However... Vah Ruta still needs a pilot. ”
picorihero:
He could draw it, sure, he nodded. But– looking down at the blank sheet of paper, before he even reached for the graphite piece, he muttered, “ They’ll never find it. ”
Unable to turn down a request from the princess, however, Link took the pencil and began sketching what he could from memory. On the off chance maybe she’d recognize it, even if not having known what it was when she first saw it. Speaking as his hand worked, “Only good children see it, legend says. ” Contradicting himself, he added the correction from the old sage master, “ Not quite. ”
The notebook turned upside down as he tried to add as much detail in it as he could, given that he was only working in monochrome. He continued, “ Good hearts. You’d see it, maybe. ” Then turning the notebook towards Zelda, he presented the drawing:
It couldn’t hurt to try. There is no comment on his muttering, words that formed coherent thoughts were something of an oddity for the boy. Zelda only hoped he didn’t think her incapable of deciphering hushed tones.
Curious eyes wander over to his paper. She hadn’t MEANT to peer over. Extending her neck so she may watch as he crafts up the door. What Picori lacked in words he certainly made up in art. Though the depiction was nothing she’d ever seen there was no doubt that she could place it now. Just a matter of looking - and having a good heart. Goddesses he believed in her.
It’s easier to see the door now, upside right. Finger tracing over the outlines as she commits it to memory. Lips twitching up in a smile.
“ We will find it. Even if it means I’ll have to ask a few children to run around the castle. What an interesting magic. I wonder - how did they craft it? Do you know? Reminds me of the tales of the city in the sky. Though I never did see it, I always looked. Hoping. ”
xhergrace:
Honeyed eyes study the ground. She looks in any direction the princess of the Golden Land isn’t. Eyes flutter and she tentatively takes in a small breath. The Champion lifts her chin as she regards the princess and her brow furrows.
Hands are curled about one another. Her clawed fingers intertwined with one another as she appears to be on the cusp of saying something. She’s never been good at speaking up when she believes it to be an important matter and she bites down on her lower lip with her pointed teeth to hush herself.
It isn’t her place to speak after all.
( @sacriis )
If her knight has taught her anything, it is how to catch subtle cues. AVOIDANCE is the first word that comes to her mind. As time passes it becomes more obvious, and only one question will come to her mind. Why?
Then Mipha is looking at her, and it only further heightens her curiosity. She can see it. How whatever needs to be said hangs at the tip of her tongue. This is torture. Book placed on her lap. Squeezing the bindings between her fingers as she, too, struggles to form words.
“ Mipha. ”
She speaks softly at first. Another brief flicker of hesitation, but she is determined.
“ Is everything alright? ”

There was so many shrines of this world she wished to visit. Having already located the ones near her castle, she began to venture further. Higher. Near the Ancient Columns. She had managed to avoid her knight - a feat in itself. Slate held delicately in her hands. She had readied herself to spend the day taking notes and looking for something anything out of place.
“ Hello? ”
Her pace slowed to a halt. She hadn’t really expected anyone to wander up here themselves. Her slate returned to her hip, and a glance back towards the way she came. Maybe they were harmless?
“ Who are you? ”
