Mirroring is the subconscious replication of another person’s nonverbal signals. This concept takes place in everyday interactions, and often goes unnoticed by both the person enacting the mirroring behaviors as well as the individual who is being mirrored. The activation of mirror neurons takes place within the individual who begins to mirror another’s movements, and allows them a greater connection and understanding with the individual who they are mirroring, as well as allowing the individual who is being mirrored to feel a stronger connection with the other individual.
damn
remind that vulcans are absolutely savage
I wish I knew where or how to begin this or how to fully articulate how I feel. I am a woman and I served in the US military for 8 years. Today on Veteran’s Day I feel grateful for the service of my fellow Americans, but feel very little pride in my own.
Mostly I feel embarrassed and ashamed that Trump, a man with no concept of what a soldier’s service means and no solidarity with the people, was elected President.
I honestly thought about burning my Honorable Discharge certificate. I haven’t yet, but I’ve thought about it. I try to remind myself of the reasons I chose to serve my country, but the election of Trump makes me feel like my service has been cheapened and mocked as if my country just gave me the middle finger or slapped me in the face.
I understand that when I signed up to serve it was to protect the freedoms and rights of the people, including the rights of those who chose to vote for a man I find deplorable and fear will set the rights of women and other minorities back several decades. Even understanding this, I still can’t help but feel nauseated that I served a people capable of putting such a man in office. Yes, I understand that Clinton won the popular vote and the electoral college is another discussion entirely…
As a woman who wrote a check to this country for up to and including her life, I can’t begin to describe the feeling of betrayal that comes with the election of a man that says it’s okay to “just grab her by the pussy.”
I feel like this isn’t the country I signed up to serve. I’m kind of glad no one bothered to thank me for my service today. It just doesn’t feel right at the moment.
Listen to your Captain and wear the safety pin.

No, I haven't died...
I've been operating off my hotspot for the last year in order to conserve money, but it really hates loading anything graphics heavy. Essentially I haven't the time or patience to update my tumblr. It sucks, but my priorities in life are a bit different now then a few years ago. What brought me here this morning was I really want to share that I'm working on a novel length story about Damar. I'm only through the first three chapters and of course there will likely be revisions and all that fun stuff. I hope to make it as good quality as my moderate talent will allow. I am really excited about the ideas I have for it though and am looking forward to posting soon.

[The last episode of DS9 season 2 and the first 2 episodes of season 3 are super dramatic - the Dominion appears and starts causing trouble, Odo finds his people, they turn out to run the Dominion, the crew of the Defiant only barely escape, and they follow that with Quark accidentally marrying a Klingon in episode 3? Decided they needed to lighten the mood, huh? It just feels silly.]
I loved it. I thought they were a fun pairing. She came to respect him. Not easy to do with Klingons.
btw, the blog’s not set up yet bc i havent gotten around to taking some screencaps yet :/ which wouldnt be an issue if i had another mod helping me!! i repeat, this blog is still looking for admins and submissions!! if i dont get anything, this blog aint gonna go very far…

Kira is awesome.
Reblog if it is okay if I make fanart of your OCs
Knock yourself out, there’s plenty to choose from.
I actually find this information REALLY HELPFUL when I visit someone else’s gallery and like their OCs. Not everyone is comfortable with fanart and few artists post whether or not they are.
always!!
Fan art makes me so happy. I love when people draw my silly characters.
Enjoy! I love fanart of my characters.
I just want to say that while I really love any comment I receive on my writing, the comments that talk about how much people like the original characters I’ve created for the stories have a very special place in my heart. Because those comments are telling me that someone likes the thing I made by myself that isn’t based on a character someone else thought up, with 7 years of development and background behind it. I also love comments about how much the other characters sound like themselves or how interesting the story is, please don’t mistake what I’m saying for dismissal in any way. But my goal is to one day write my own stories, and when you tell me you really like that person I invented, you’re also telling me that I can create something on my own that is compelling and funny and, most importantly, worthy of note alongside those established characters someone else created years ago.
I absolutely love it when I get similar comments about my own OCs. It’s a difficult and challenging task to create a character and have it be loved, especially when it’s an original character for an existing fandom or whatnot. Fans just naturally gravitate toward the characters they already know and love. So yeah, it feels like a triumph of personal creativity to be told your OCs are interesting or awesome or whatever the case may be. I have a few commenters on ff.net who like to tell me how much they love Sadara, but at the same time she frustrates the hell out of them. I really, really love those comments, but they show that I’ve managed to make Sadara a flawed, believable character that generates many emotions in my readers.
honestly do u ever get to a point with a friend where u just realize “holy shit I don’t actually like you, like, at all”
I’ve felt that way once or twice.
I am really breaking out on one side of my face, and I’ve tried everything to figure out why, but it’s just like HAHA YOU’LL NEVER STOP ME.
This was me right before the Star Trek convention. I’ve never worn so much foundation in my life.
Curse you, strategically placed Cardassian Etch A Sketch.
These are awesome. Benjamin Sisko rules.
