Voted Most Likely To...

... be underestimated by strangers. Tella may look innocuous but those close to her know different. She is usually chugging down coffee or with her face against a screen, but those can also be misleading. She was in two different martial arts from the time she was five until she was twenty. With her ‘extended family’ she has been trained in both blade work and firearms. Take away the fact that she can physically defend herself and she still has an arsenal at her fingertips, literally. 

... erase mistakes. Tella had always been a curious child. When her uncle took notice of it he started sending her electronics that she would take apart and put back together. It wasn’t just learning how things worked, she had a knack for finding holes in coding. From there, she learned how to build up and break down. Something that only two people know about her is that she is able to hack government files and leave without a trace. 

 ... punch someone. It’s no secret that Tella isn’t the friendliest person. She has some trust issues and is abrasive with anyone that she doesn’t consider family. She has the shortest fuse when it comes to people mistreating those she cares about but that doesn’t exempt them from her fits. Her twin brother can usually talk her into sparring to work out her frustrations and keep her off the edge of violence. Being from a small town usually made her impulse control less of an issue.

I don’t think anything is scary enough

They would probably laugh and report back that there was no intelligent life on the planet

There is a long history with Samhain and other aspects but I won’t bore you. It’s officially unofficially official.

7. What do you think about Halloween?

I think that it’s the best time of the year, not to mention the day my Bassy Babe was born.

I LITERALLY cannot pick a single one, there are too many amazing ones.

I don’t know about strangest, but the lamest one was a girl that wrapped herself in caution tape. She didn’t even have an explanation for her costume, just.. wrapped in caution tape.

I usually put my costumes together.

October 6

I don’t care about your opinion on candy corn UNLESS you like it. It happens to be one of my favorite candies and it can only be found EASILY during this time of year. Do I make candy fangs? Yes, yes I do. Am I too old to do that? That’s none of your business. For those of you that are interested in the best way to consume this sugar packed delicacy, welcome to Tella’s Candy Hour. Everyone thinks that the white part should go first but it’s the Yellow. Then the orange, then the white part. The little white part is the best and therefore should be saved for last... unless you’re in a ‘now now now’ kinda mood.

October 4

On the fourth day of Halloween my true love gave to me, actual vampires. There is nothing better than watching vampires being actual vampires. None of this sparkle c r a p, or equally asinine alteration. The Lost Boys is one of the best movies that doesn’t romanticize the demon hybrid creatures that too many have taken literary liberties with. As you can see, I, Tella Drago, am of the dark and violent support for scary creatures remaining scary and I celebrate that with movies all October. Some other must watch movies include Psycho, The Amityville Horror, The Shinning, and The Evil Dead. I live for this time of year.

October 3

It’s no secret Tella has a sweet tooth, no matter the time of year. It just so happens that she can’t get enough of the pumpkin shaped Reeses. There is something about the ratio of peanutbutter to chocolate that melts perfectly in her mouth. None of the other holiday editions are quite the same. Not even the Christmas trees. For the first few days of October she drags her brother around to ever store in town to buy as many as she can find. Although the hunt is for one specific candy, she is an equal opportunity candy-holic and will buy more candy than she can eat in three months.

F u c k anxiety. 

I don’t usually have to deal with it so when I do... Well I don’t handle it well. I woke up this morning and there was just a heaviness in my chest. It happens once in a while and it always comes out of nowhere. I always think if I can just figure out what caused it, or why it happens when it does, then I can do something to never feel that way again. That’s the kick. I can never figure out why or when or how... I just spend a whole day feeling like I’m walking the knife’s edge. If I step too heavily and I’ll lose a few toes, if I misstep and I’ll plummet to some unknown oblivion. I know how that sounds, I know how that makes me sound, but when I’m feeling like this there is nothing else that makes sense. I just want to build a fort out of blankets, surround myself with chips, and watch cartoons until the day is over. Anything to try to forget the doom that has decided to bloom in my chest. Instead, I’m grabbing my keys and finding out what the open road has for me.

How did I just wake up? I feel like I’ve been asleep for centuries and yet the world looks, for the most part, the same. The time issue is only punctuated by the slight spatial distortion I seem to be dealing with too. I literally walked into the doorframe on my way out of my room. Thank god I was the only one here and, with a little bit of luck, there won’t be a mark. Can you imagine? Explaining to someone how you misjudged the width of a door that you walk through a million times a day? Ugh, it’s going to be one of those days, I can already tell. I think I’m going to build a blanket fort and hide out in my living room until I feel normal again. If that’s possible. Wish me luck.

Why did I ever think it would be a good idea to start my own business? The money is great, and I’m doing something I’m good at, but why, oh why, did I think dealing with other humans and their needs would be fine? I’ve got a Karen that wants to claim everything she’s asked to do ‘is against the law’. I know I need to work on my temper but I have to admit, the look on her face when I told her that her options were to do the job she was hired to do or to get the hell out of the building was priceless. I was in Atlanta for a meeting and ended up dealing with managerial c r a p. I think it might be a good idea to hire a buffer. Someone I can pay just to deal with the people while I do the only part I like about this job. 

ABC soup was outside Dragon Fire when I walked out. They claimed to want to discuss a contract and while I may have been born at night, it wasn’t last night. The visit was no more than a reminder that they’re watching what I do. They have been since I was in high school, but I hadn’t realized it’s already been a year since the last time they paid a visit. Looks like it’s time to play things a little closer to the vest for a while.

The Many Flaws of a Tella-tubby

vengeful - Tella isn't one to forget a slight, and if you think she'll let it go you don't know the basics about her.

petty - Baz broke her heart and she knew calling him Sebastian would hurt him, was it petty? Yes. Was she going to do it anyway? Also yes.

controlling - She can count on one hand, with fingers to spare, how many people she trusts and when you're skeptical of everyone you want to control every aspect possible.

defiant - Tella was only 12, the first time she defied her parents. She looked into the history of her family and has spent her life doing as she eases, defying standards and norms.

impatient - Tella was impatient even before she was born, even her parents joke that she probably pushed Daimano out of the way to be born first.

prideful - Tella, without hesitation, will bet on the strength and ability of her company over any of her competitors, even government contracted companies.

stubborn - Tella could out stubborn a mule if it came down to it, it is part of the reason that she has gone so far with her company.

obsessive - There was no way she could sleep without cleaning up this section of coding, even when the sun started peeking over the horizon Tella simply put on a pot of coffee and kept working.

skeptic - One of the first lessons Tella learned in life was that everyone lies and the ones closest to you do it more than strangers. It was that lesson that made her skeptical of everyone and everything.

overprotective - She doesn't pull many people into her inner circle but when she does even the smallest infraction against any of them and you'll feel the full force of her rage.

Unplug. I'm not even sure I know what that means anymore. Both Nono and Bassy told me I need a day unplugged, a day when I'm not worried about a fugitive slash, dash, or dot messing up a code that is supposed to run flawlessly. It's funny that they always suggest the same thing after I spend a night in front of my laptop trying to make something work. I ended up pulling four pens out of my hair, but the big kicker was the fact that I was searching for my glasses for five minutes before Baz pulled them off my head and handed them to me. An exhausting night behind me and the funniest thing about the whole ordeal is that one kiss from Bassy then him tucking me into bed and it was all better. I still don't know how he can make everything all better every single time.

In light of recent events, Nono has begged me to spend time with his new girlfriend. I know he wants me to like her but I can't seem to pinpoint why I don't. Maybe I'm just being too overprotective of my brother but I've never reacted like this to a person before. I'm not hesitant... I just have an aversion to her. She's taking psych classes at the local community college, maybe it's the way she acts like she can read people that rubs me the wrong way. Bassy's given her a wide berth too. I guess we'll see.
